The menu offers appetizers, soups, pasta, pizzas, salads, entrees, and desserts with at least several options under each heading. The food was tasty and well cooked, and the portions were ample to generous. The service was attentive. The establishment makes it clear that there is a mandatory gratuity for groups of six or larger, split checks are not guaranteed for larger groups, and there is a 3% surcharge for credit card transactions. Be mindful of what you order. It can add up quickly. My companion and I wracked up a $200 bill between our drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Free parking is available after 5pm in the Cherry Street Parking Lot.

They have a large hearth wood fired oven in the center, and the place has a rustic feel. Cocktail menu has some classy drinks on it. Drinks were made fine and priced reasonably well. The dinner menu has a bit of everything. Cowboy ciao salmon salad was crispy and fresh, large and chock full of mix-ins. The steak and gorgonzola pizza was perfectly cooked and the gorgonzola was phenomenally savory! Definitely was surprised how good this combo was on a pizza. Had peach tart for dessert which was alright but felt a bit lacking after such a strong dinner. Presentation on all food / drink was quite nice. Overall, everything was great. Thanks

The best chili dog you can find in my opinion. I'm no chili…read moredog expert but have been to Yocco's and Willy Joe's many times, not to mention Pott's in Bethlehem,Jimmy's quick lunch in Hazleton, and Abe's & Ferris' Lunch in Wilkes-Bar. Rutt's Hut in Clifton NJ. And have had NY dogs and Chicago dogs in their respective cities...this slays them all. Of course, like pizza and wings and cheesesteaks etc, it comes down to what you're looking for in that particular genre. They nailed it here with the perfect combination of mustard onions and chili. Some places are stingy with the chili or pile on too many onions. Not Forest Inn. Perfect ratio. Maybe it is simply the care with which they are prepared? I don't know. But as a kid I would grab a chili dog from the Whitehall Mall (Allentown/Whitehall) at a place called Little Red Wagon. Just a wagon-like stand in hallway of mall. The chili dogs at Forest Inn remind me of those dogs. This spot is your classic dive bar. Typical characters you'd expect. Old school urinals. Jukebox that you can't play with your Touchtune/AMI app. Tons of Pennsylvania Skill games(more than I've ever seen at one bar) Seemed like a clean place though so no complaints. The real star of the show is the bartender/chef/manager Harry. He is on the ball! Super nice guy too. He has to serve all the patrons plus cook up all the food and keep non-patrons from using the restroom or just hanging out. He does it all with ease and is fun to talk to as well. I've been here twice already and will return for third time shortly. It's is 45 minutes from house so I can't go on a regular basis but they're so good I gotta make a trek there a few times a year. Give Forest Inn a try! You won't be disappointed.

The place is walking distance to the Santander Arena and does not get as overcrowded as other places. It is completely unpretentious and very reasonably priced. The food is simple, old school bar food. It is an experience that I recommend. Get a couple of cheeseburgers and a chili dog, side of fries and some cheap drinks and leave happy.

My wife and I love this little restaurant. It's homemade Mexican-American food prepared fresh and…read morequick. We usually get the tacos, huaraches, or quesadillas with chicken. The fresh avocado slices in the huaraches and the special green-chili sauce makes this "spicy kitchen" a favorite lunch stop for us. You can take out or eat in; and we've done both. The advantage of eating in is that the food is more fresh and you don't have to worry about it getting cold on the way home. The owners and cooks will bring out the food to you, which is great service. There are a few tables and a long bar with stools in front of a wall mirror to sit at. One potential downside is that it's noisy with the TV and radio on (often blasting, and in Spanish). One thing that is sort of interesting, too, is that the common side order is french fries instead of tortilla chips. It's in the middle of the city of Reading, but on a side street away from the main attractions of downtown. On street parking is typically not an issue when we go, around 1PM during the week. We've never had problems with ordering custom-made dishes in English, as most of the dishes are listed in Spanish on the in-store menu--and this is something we really appreciate, as my wife prefers to custom-order for personal reasons (e.g., "without cilantro, onions, and tomatoes"). The price is excellent for the amount of food and quality of service you receive.
