Oh man, this was a much needed adventure, I am telling you. I took some time to ask good ol' Facebook where I should get some plants, and then ventured over to Yelp with the responses and here we are. This place is AMAZING. I am telling you, if you have a child, or are a child yourself....get lost in this plant place and enjoy it. There are plants everywhere, and they are BEAUTIFUL. The staff is so helpful and they are everywhere. Everything is glowing and growing and you can tell how well the plants are taken care of. Even met Judy herself working behind the counter and was very helpful with all of my questions. My kiddo loved every second and I am so happy or him. Come here every year to get my gardening supplies and this year parking was really full, but I thought I managed to squeeze in. Guess I parked slightly over covering someone's driveway by a few inches on accident was in and out of the store within five minutes just needed to grab one thing I knew where it was so was in and out to within five minutes. Getting into my car I had the store owner yelling at me saying she just yelled at other people inside too. I was in the middle of apologizing because it was an honest mistake. The store owner continued to scream at me while and after apologizing profusely, trying to explain it was an accident. I will never be back here. Really sad that the owner thinks it's okay to be so mean to people. I hope the owner learns to have compassion and understanding instead of screaming at people and name calling. Guess I'll be going to Ritters or the local place in the South Hill next year. read more

Oh my gosh, I'm so glad I listened to the whim to stop in here one day. I was looking for a plant for my snake vivarium and I was helped right away and found the perfect plant, that wasn't even on my radar. Only $3 too! Prices are incredible - definitely better than even some local chains around here. Giant succulents for only $15 and end of season herbs marked down to $1 each, what more can you ask for?? Plus they had a free flower bin, can't beat that. Everything was super healthy and the variety of landscaping and local plants was astounding. I thought the employees were all super knowledgeable and friendly, I didn't feel pressured nor ignored at all while I was there. I'll be making Jenny's my new regular haunt for sure. :) read more

Dont expect any help if you get a bad plant!!! Since moving to Spokane I've always bought my perennials from here, supporting my neighborhood businesses, we even get Christmas trees from here. On my recent visit I had bought a bunch of plants I treated them all the same well one dried out so I'd see if I could exchange because this has never happened before with plants I bought from her. How that went: I'd prefer being sprayed by a skunk than reliving how rude she was. 9 am in the morning and so rude I ran away in tears. "You people..." phrase was used. In conclusion: Judy's garden is indeed enchanted - with gorgeous, health plants - helpful, knowledgeable sales people - amazing prices - and an atmosphere that puts you at ease and makes you feel at home. I give it my highest recommendation and I'll never go anywhere else! Detals: We had to buy an insane number of plants to fill out a large section of our yard near and on top of our rock retaining walls. We were in the nursery about two hours and the people could not have been nicer or more helpful. I know nothing of plants so I brought my sister to help - though I probably could have survived the experience just on the knowledgeable staff recommendations. A very nice man named Tom accompanied us throughout our shopping giving advice, going to the other side of the store to get the exact item I wanted and (my favorite) getting a second opinion when he wasn't completely sure. He even made sure to note if I was choosing something that would be a threat to our rock walls if it had aggressive roots. All the plants we chose were beautiful and the selection was just crazy! For such a small area they fit a great many gorgeous items in. A truly awesome man named Jeff also helped us chose our plants. And then helped us load everything that would fit into my station wagon - keeping the other items until I could get someone with a truck to pick them up. He told us exactly how much compost we would need and gave me all sorts of advice on how to plant things and where they would go best. I cannot say enough good stuff about Jeff - he's exactly the kind of person someone like me (not so knowledgeable about plants) needs, but is also respectful to someone like my sister (who knows much more about plants). Enjoy walking through the array of plants, and ornaments, but dismayed by the fact that the staff was not adhering to easy to follow rules of the current health crisis. No masks, or distancing rules being followed. It is a small space and they have a short window of opportunity, but having the workers wear a mask is not that difficult. read more

I really believe in supporting small business, but given the population that was shopping the day I was here, I was very disappointed that no precautions (no masks, no sanitizer or cleaning between customers) were being taken despite signs asking people not to engage in extended conversation with employees. In fact an employee checking people out was eating with her hands between customers. I won't be back. read more

We love Judys! We have bought several heucheras, asparagus, tomatoes, wisteria, and now black lace elderberries. We have never been dissatisfied with a purchase. I am always impressed by the stock that they have. We walked in today thinking we would have to order our black lace elderberries but should have known better. Judys got it! I can't believe it's taken me so long to visit this nursery. The staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to stay there for hours and I could have because they have a large amount of flowers, vegetables, berries, shrubs, trees, and succulents to look at. The best place in town to find unique plants (i.e. Anyone else bored with the 10 varieties of perennials that the big box places have?). Annuals, perrenials, trees, for such a small urban patch they have a HUGE selection. But even better is the help you can get from the staff, they actually have gardens here in spokane, they know how to make things grow, are such a great resource and can point you in the right direction. Seriously, they tell you what you need to know so you don't accidentally kill the pretty flowers. When they ask if they can help, please let them. What can I say? If you haven't been to Judy's yet, put down your phone, turn off your computer and GO! This small little nursery packs it in offering a great selection of specialty plants - if you want arborvitae, go to Lowe's (they will actually tell you that). You can find strange and captivating plants of every type here: annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, vegetables, and herbs. Looking for something REALLY unusual? They can probably order it for you. Garden knick-knacks and pots are also a specialty. They aren't strong in the house plant section, but they don't try to be - this is definitely an outside gardener's paradise. The owners and staff know their stuff, and if they aren't sure of something they won't lie to you; they want their plants to be happy once they pass them on to you. read more

Fantastic Local Business! I've been to Judy's multiple times throughout the summer and their entire staff is helpful. I don't know very much about plants, or what to buy, but they took great care of me. Top notch customer service. They have limited space but have chosen a selection that makes sense. You probably wont find a rare plant here, but I am sure they'd order it for you with a smile. I'm completely new to gardening. I went here with my sister-in-law (thank you Beth !) because I wanted to start a small organic herb garden. Judy was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I got a selection of nice plants and the organic potting soil that I needed. - Next time I'm in town, I think I'll get a selection of mint plants. Judy is awesome!!!! I stopped by having looked everywhere in the big lot stores for some fun plants for some kids that garden in the Brownes Addition Community Garden! Last spring I stopped at Judy's with a drawing of my front foundation bed. I needed to fill the entire bed but was not sure what to get or where to put it. One of the employees spent at least 2 hours helping me to design the bed and select the plants and shrubs. I was also able to pick up a number of perennials that were over-wintered at the store for a ridiculously low price. The bed is flourishing. I love the plants that were recommended and the bed layout. Since then, I have returned over and over again looking for unique plants and seeking recommendations from the staff. Their selection of plants is quite broad and what they don't have they can usually get from their suppliers if available. Thank you, Judy and staff.
