I finally checked out this cute local bakery, and it was awesome…read more I got the Earl Grey scones, and they were so soft and moist. Most scones I've had are dry, but these were perfect and super flavorful. I got a few other treats, but I don't remember what they were called, but everything was so good and not overly sweet. It was a perfect balance. I am definitely going back.

So this is more of a order a go spot, if they don't have enough chairs. It's clean and did smell like baked goods when you come in. The decoration is cute also. I didn't know what to order and so I ordered a Dacquiose with cream and strawberry jam since I've never had one before. The owner described it as a mix of a macaron and cream puff. It was an accurate description. Definitely great texture. Just a little too much cream for my taste due to the sweetness. It was like a butter like cream, and it was sweet. I also got their chocolate chip cookie which was thick. It tasted very similar to a scone and not really like a buttery, crunchy/chewy texture of chocolate chip cookie that I like. A bit bummed that neither dessert wasn't something I liked. Also they don't have any drinks, which is also a bummer because milk or coffee would have gone great with the desserts. I'll probably come back and try something different, but for now either of what I tried really hit. However it's still worthy checking it out, because it might not have been my kind of taste of baked good, but could be for someone else.

Immediately a young woman greeted me as I walked in and shared with me that this shop is not the same owners as the Bakers and Baristas down the way. In fact, this group are the original owners. This explains why the menu next door was vastly different from what it was when it first opened. The Superette had offerings of locally made pantry supplies and also Japanese tea items. A lot of great gift ideas. This day they were having a pizza popup. I was in a rush but waited till I got my turn at the register to ask how long a pizza would take to decide if I was going to order. They said it would take about 10 minutes, so I went ahead and ordered a Spicy Carbonara. The shop was busy with people ordering pizza or buying ice cream. They have limited flavour offerings on the scoops, but had pints available in the fridge. My pizza came, it's about the personal size, with 6 slices. While there were umbrella tables outside for seating, I took the pizza home. I was a little disappointed that my pizza was burnt so I took a star from that. It's a pity because it was flavourful. I saved a couple of slices to take to work and it was still good. The lady that spoke with me at the shop did explain all the ingredients are freshly sourced or in-house made and she mentioned the dough was made in-house. You can tell it was as it was delicious. Love the vibe of the place and looking forward to more offerings. I appreciate that they have a shop for gifts making it one-stop. Will be back for Christmas shopping! Parking is a bit tricky in the complex depending on the time of day as the ones up front fill up quick then when you look in the back, people park on the lines and most end up taking up two parking spots

Since it was a Saturday, I'd recommend having a reservation or being on the waitlist! It was still quite a wait for our party of 6. The hostesses where wearing costumes which was cool, but they werent very friendly. When we were all able to check in, we waited and additional 25 mins with no system in place of where to wait. So we all just kind of stood there as we didn't want to get missed when they had a table for us. When we were called in, we did get the worst seats in the house and wished we were placed literally anywhere else. Being so close to the bathrooms and the curtain separating the stock room kind of broke the immersion. The food was fairly priced, but I think it was because the portions were pretty small. I tried the Cordon Bleu chicken sliders- they were fine, nothing stand out. Their seasonal menu was very interesting and the butternut squash salad was good, but again, pretty small in portion. Brussel sprouts were delish, but also small in portion. Drinks are a standout though! The bartenders are super friendly and my drink (the ravens claw) was very strong. The props and projections were fun little details that activated the space! Would've enjoyed it more if we were in a more optimal area. Overall it was fun because of the people I was with, so I'd give this overall experience a 3.5! If they weren't there, I'd give a solid 3 stars. I'm open to trying this place again and hoping for a better experience next time.

I waited for a while and received no assistance so I asked the guy for help. The man did not speak Dutch so I explained to him what I wanted (salami deli meat). I asked him for a pound of deli meat. I went to shop around the store and noticed the fridges were empty as were the isles. After a few minutes I came back to the deli counter and found my uncut piece of meat (in tube form) placed on the weigh scale? To my dismay I asked him if he was going to cut it with the pretty slicer machine near him? I mean that's how it used to work and how it works at any other deli meat counters. As the man cut the salami I continued to shop and picked up a jar of silver onions that looked brownish ( the onions inside the jar) and I thought well maybe they are supposed to look this way. Maybe they were a different type of onions. When I thought to look for an expiration date again to my dismay I observed that it had been expired since 2023. Unfortunately I purchased extra pedas chili which looked ok but when I got home I found out that it has been expired since 2018 (please see attached picture). This wasn't the worst of it though because we found a jar of something with leafy green bits that had been expired since 2013. Yes 2013! Bro! You think I should try the chili? You think I'll survive? This place has gone to the pits. Hopefully a health inspector straightens this place out. Furthermore when I got the salami back the slices looked as if my he deli meat cutter blade was very dull.
