I AM ADDICTED TO THIS PLACE. With this recent heat wave going on, I've been craving cold noodles so badly. I decided to give this place a try after seeing the positive reviews on Yelp. If you go around dinner time, you may need to circle the parking lot a few times to find parking. But overall, it's not too bad. I've only gone for dinner, but 2/3 times I went, there was a 5-10 minute wait. NOT BAD AT ALL!!! Upon entering, the workers greet you and it's mostly older Korean ajummas/ ahjussis/ korean families dining. That's how you know this place is legit. There are about 7/8 tables from what I remember, and they're able to accommodate for moderately large parties of 7-8. You'd probably have to wait a little bit for the tables to be set up though. The side dishes are standard, but so good. I love the acorn jelly(?) dish they offer. Another highlight is the free broth they offer on the side. As someone who grew up eating naengmyeon, it's always such a pleasant surprise to find a spot that offers free bone (육수) broth as a service. It's so comforting, savory, and rich in flavor. I'm drooling as I write this lol. Anyways, to the main dish....I always get the chic mul naengmyeon. This place has their recipe DOWN to perfection. The broth is always full of soft chunks of ice, the spice isn't overwhelming - it perfectly adds to the flavor, and the noodles, cucumbers, and radish in the soup compliment each other so amazingly. The only thing I say they can improve is the slice of meat that comes in the soup. They only put 1, which is the only complaint I have, but even then, the soup is so delicious that I'm probably not consciously thinking of that as I devour it. My friends have gotten the naengmyeon combo as well, the only thing I can comment on about this is that they charge $4 for a bowl of rice if you order the combo and ask for rice. The woman assisting me sat the two orders down and tried to tell me which order belonged to which name for my pickup and left. First time trying Yoo's Place ! My friend and I visited around 6:30pm and were seated right away. The restaurant is small and cozy, only 2 ladies were working in the front during this time so if it's more crowded do expect a little wait as they are helping each table. The restaurant started to fill up around 7-7:30pm. This spot is best for small groups of 2-4people. We shared the 1. Chic Mul Naengmyun (which is a cold broth buckwheat noodle soup) perfect for the summer weather and a light meal. The soup was slushy texture and topped with thin and round cucumber slices, half a boiled egg, 1? Slice of beef, sesame seeds, red pepper sauce (not that spicy), and lots of daikon radish. Buckwheat noodles are thin and very chewy, the waitress was kind to offer to cut the noodles for us. Side dishes were complementary and included: jalapeño radish, cubed radish kimchi, cubed jelly (unsure what kind) in a sesame soy sauce, kabocha squash in white sauce (my favorite one!), and fish cakes. All tasted very good. After tax our total for this meal was around $20 Would definitely recommend this dish! Yoo's Place is located in a plaza full of other restaurants and shops. They are always busy during meal times because of their outstanding food, free hot bone broth, and amazing service! I usually order the naengmyun or another cold noodle dish, but today was chilly and a bit rainy so I opted for the ugegi galbi tang. The portion was good and the meat was tender. However, yesterday, I went with some friends, and none of us are Korean, and the noticeable difference in service is mind blowing. First, there were 4 of us, and we politely asked the waitress for more banchan. She said no more banchan. I was astounded because I have been to this restaurant before, and they have never said this in the past. Fine, whatever. Second, we had some cold noodles that we didn't finish, so we asked for a takeout box. She had the audacity to say that she won't give us a box because there would be food poisoning if we took the cold noodles to go. Excuse me?! In what world, does this make any sense? If she doesn't want to give us a box because she's cheap, I'd rather her say that they charge for a box, which we would have gladly paid for. Had family picking up takeout for lunch as summer temperatures hit, and the best thing for cooling off is cold noodle soup! We all got the same thing mul naengmyun: chewy grey black buckwheat noodles, topped with julienned and sliced rounds of cucumber, half a nars boiled egg and one slice of tender boiled beef. Everything topped with sesame and red chili paste , just the right amount of to balance off the vinegary flavors of the icy broth. Food was prepared well for takeout : separate containers for broth and noodles, to keep the food still fresh when it got home. Panchan was also packed separately: kimchi, dandelion root gelatin and cubed radishes, also very good with the noodles and broth. I was craving Soondae and I found this place on Yelp. we were exploring area and this is one of the closest one that serves Soondae. I got their soondae guk, I love it. The soup comes separately as chilled iced soup in a bowl. The noodle is long and chewy. Make sure it get scissor cut properly. Order the combo menu to save a little. We ordered the pancake combo. Kids love them. Other combos taste delicious too. This time we did not order the Donkatsu. The meat is usually crispy, crunchy and juicy. Also large portion. The Dolpan menu, hot stone plate, also delicious. We ordered the spicy pork. Ambiance is typical small restaurant. Service is quick. If there is a line.
