In love with this airline!! Check in is so quick and easy. Great snacks and coffee in the waiting lounge. Plane was super clean. The flight attendant was very friendly. I'll seek out this airline everytime I fly.

I've been flying JSX for a number of years, ever since they were a fledgling airline. I've only flown their Burbank-Las Vegas route, one of their most popular. Burbank was their first LA airport; they now also fly out of LAX, Santa Monica and Orange County. I've seen the brand's fast growth, as witnessed by their ever-increasing number of destinations, subsequent increased crowding at their airport hangars, and ever-increasing costs for flights, valet parking and rental cars (JSX works exclusively with Go Rentals). JSX's main advantage over traditional commercial airlines is their more comfortable overall experience. Touted as a semi-private airline, they fly out of private hangars, thus avoiding TSA. You are only asked to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to your departure. There is no online check-in available or needed, it's a simple and fairly quick process. Since the planes have no overhead bins, all bags are checked except what can fit under your seat. The waiting areas in the hangars are lounge-like, with complimentary snacks, a hot beverage machine and a flavoured-water machine. The airplanes are all small Embraer ERJ 135's or 145's with an average capacity of 30 passengers. There is one flight attendant. Beverages (including alcohol) and a snack tray are complimentary. Wi-Fi is free (Starlink) . There is one restroom at the rear; I've always found the water pressure in the sink to be very low. I've mostly flown the Embraer ERJ 135, 10 rows with a 1-2 seat configuration. Twice I've flown the 145, 16 rows with a 1-1 configuration, but these seem to not be used so much on the BUR-LAS route. I've seen the Burbank hangar go through a few modifications over the years, all for the better. The restrooms were quite pathetic in the past. The waiting area has 2 sections, one more enclosed and quiet--this area has been improved. The boarding area now has more security measures like a conveyor belt for screening your carryon. With the airline's growth, there have been some negatives. Flights have increased more than $100 each way to/from Vegas. The cost for choosing your seat also increased. Parking was always valet-only, the cost is now prohibitive. It's more economical to rideshare here, as do most folks, causing a traffic backup in their drop-off area. With more frequent flights arriving and departing, and with more destinations, the lounge can get crowded. Plus in Burbank, luggage from arriving flights is brought directly into the hangar (vs. in Vegas where passengers collect their luggage plane-side). I've only had a flight delay once. With about 6 flights/day or more to Vegas, a flight cancellation is not as horrific an issue as it would be to a destination with less flights per day. Despite their growing pains and increasing costs, I'm still a fan of JSX.

So much easier than any airport. If u live near Burbank ideal. I like the chill vibe and snacks. No frills and easy. Boarding process simple. Friendly flight hostesses. I like the right side of the w bigger seats. Cute charter vibes!! I'll be back. Also if plane isn't full u can sit anywhere towards the back!!!

Flying with JSX out of Burbank, CA was awesome. The private terminal is seriously convenient -- no huge airport crowds or long TSA lines, and check‑in was smooth and fast. Once you're onboard, the cabin feels spacious with plenty of legroom, and boarding from a smaller, more relaxed lounge makes the whole travel experience way better than a typical flight. Wish they flew everywhere and did not have such a limited coverage area.

JSX is a total game changer! No TSA lines, no stress--just quick check-in and straight onto the plane. From curb to gate in minutes, smooth flight, super comfortable, and the private terminal makes it feel first-class without the crazy price. And grew customer service.ylu can valet park in front of the terminal for $50 a day. And there is free Starlink wifi which works great. Thank you Elon Its a 10/10--this is the only way I want to fly now! Enjoy Be a proud American Peace/love

Friendly service and easy check-in! I tried JSX for the first time on my business travel between Burbank and LA. Overall, I would rate the experience as a solid 4. To get to the JSX flights, you need to get to the dedicated hanger area (not at airport), which is several blocks away from the major airport. The exact location of the hanger should be in your flight itinerary, and link to Uber/Lyft/Google map is also embedded in the itinerary. When you arrive for your flight, you check in at the front desk and they scan your ID. There is no long security line, and only a brief check of your carry-on when you are about to board. What I love the most is the stress free check-in process. Since there is no line, you can show up 20 minutes before departure and go through the entire boarding without stress. In addition, the lounge area and bathrooms are comfortable and nice. While I would suggest better decorations in the lounge area, there are ample free snacks/beverages. The sitting area is comfortable with lots of charging outlets. When I boarded, the process was fast and seamless. My flight accommodated about 30 people, and seats were wide and comfortable. There was free Starlink wifi, and good snacks/beverages were offered throughout the flight. When I landed, my luggages would be waiting for me near the plane with no additional need to go to the conveyor belt, which saved a good chunk of time. The only drawback would be valet only parking feature and the tight area in front of the JSX office for Uber/Lyft pick-ups. When arriving passengers were all waiting for their valet cars, it left little room for Uber/Lyft drivers to come picking up passengers. My cost for the flight was around $600, which was twice the amount of the Southwest flight. While the cost is much higher, it makes sense for certain business situation where you don't want to waste time going through the hassles of regular airport travel. Recommend!

    Ask the Community - JSX

Is there a restroom on the plane?

    Yes, there is!

What's the best way to get to the rental cars at Burbank airport from the JSX hanger? Is there a shuttle or any sort of ground transport? Or is it best to just walk?

    Uber

Hi, any Uber / Lyft puck up & drop off at area?

Yes, you are welcome to take Uber or Lyft and they can pick up/drop off right at our entrance.

How much is the valet parking (per day, included with ticket fare?)

I believe it is 35 per day and it is not included.

Are all alcoholic drinks free on jsx?

    Yes

Do you check in 24 hours in advance like other airlines?

    Yes

What's the best way to get from rental car at Burbank to hangar 2?

    Uber

Do they only book a few weeks out at a time? I tried to look at flights and it only showed the current month with no option to book ahead.

Yes, at the most they'll show 30, sometimes 60 days out, usually with a route like Burbank they should show their 30 days schedule. Yet the schedule stays relatively the same, so at least you'll know what days & times they'll fly. Their system, at… Read more

Do they fly to Vegas out of Seattle?

No. They fly from Seattle to Oakland.

Does JetX fly between Prescott, Az & Burbank?

It doesn't. Go to their website and it's really clear there :-)

    How many seats are there?

I counted 30 in my flight.

A really interesting, mixed experience with Avelo, and it almost seems pointless to review them now…read morethat they left the West Coast. I will try to mix this review as both the company as a whole, and the Burbank location, as I had a much better experience with the location in Arcata, CA. Firstly, the price. Man oh man, there is absolutely no better price for an airline ticket that I have experienced since. I believe I had a $15 round-trip ticket from Burbank to McKinleyville and back once. That alone would give them a 5 star, no questions asked. And if I had reviewed them directly after my first few flights, this would be 5 stars. Let me get to the negatives, and circle back to the positives. My main concern was my most-recent visit to the Burbank location, and obviously the last one I will ever do because they closed (I even had a ticket to use that they cancelled on my with no warning but that's a separate issue). Active-duty military get two free checked bags. At the time I was active-duty, and this wasn't my first time using my military ID with them, and the other few times went off without any hitch whatsoever. But this time, the lady at the checked bag area said that my ID said an incorrect birthday. To her credit, the DOB is printed in black, and it overlays the black and white photo of me on it, so it's hard to see. She confused the 5 in "1995" for a 6, and said that my ID is invalid. I told her if she looked harder it is obviously a 5, but she accused me of essentially having confirmation bias and only seeing a 5 because I want there to be a 5. It's a government issued ID I was using for years to that point to get onto literal military bases. She then said I had to pay for my luggage. The problem with that is she is essentially accusing me of having a fake ID, military no-less. That's a federal crime, so if she truly believed that, she should have called the police. But instead it was just grounds for not wanting to give me a bag check. The ironic part of the "confirmation bias" is funny because she would ask a coworker and instead of saying, "what number do you think this is?" She would instead ask "This looks like a 6, right?" What coworker would say anything other than yes? After asking to see someone higher up (probably the only time I have ever done that in my life actually), one eventually came and saw me, told me my ID was good, gave me a checked bag, and just recommended I asked to military to issue me a new ID with a more clear 5. They never did because it was obviously a 5 and that would count as wasting time. I was worried the entire trip about the checked bags for the plane ride home, but it went off literally without a hitch. I guess that happens when people can tell the difference between a 5 and a 6. My last point that I want to bring up is that I had one more round-trip planned with them, but the cleared out of the West Coast way earlier than they said they would. That meant they gave me a flight credit of roughly $100 for an airline I could never use again. It took me many back-and-forths with the customer support team to finally get that money back not as a credit, but they eventually did it. So mainly, this airline was mostly pretty good, but gave me one very sour experience where they implied that I was some criminal, but not only criminal enough to not give something they said they would. That experience was a one star, most of the experiences are in the 4-5 star range, but the dishonest early closing brings them down to a 3, which I would argue should be a 2 but like I said, I got a $15 round trip once. That is amazing!
