Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. They replaced my central AC two months ago and it stopped working during this last heat wave. They sent four different people to my home, telling me to replace my ductwork and that my refrigerant was low so they filled it. They filled refrigerant and said give it a few hours. Temperature continued to climb, called them seven times on Saturday. As of Monday no one has called back. read more

The plumber was super nice and courteous, but the pricing is outlandish. They charged us $450 for a simple sink trap replacement. You owe them as soon as they step in the door, so once you have the quote you're already in the hole and they seem to know that they more or less have you hostage. The new drain stopper that came with it is clearly the cheapest model and it broke and was non functional by day 2. With such high prices I'd at least expect higher quality parts. While prompt and readily available, I'd rather go with someone else who takes longer to show up but who won't charge an arm and a leg for a simple repair. Wouldn't recommend if you're not trying to spend a small fortune. read more

I had a clogged drain in my master bath. JSP came and gave me 5 estimates to fix it ranging in price from over $1800 to the lowest being over $600. This was arrogant and completely out of line. These estimates were on top of over $100 fee for just coming to my house (which I do understand). I called another plumber the next day and he fixed it in 15 min for $135. read more

I scheduled an appointment for an electrician to come out and inspect my rental then cost assess the repairs if needed. They did not show up, never called me to tell me that they were not showing up, causing me to call out of work and miss a day of pay. I called the office and all they could do was offer me $50 dollars off of my "assessment" that didn't happen. Thanks for wasting my time and money. We are waiting patiently a long time to be wowed or at least have minimum expectations for service met. In the process of installing a very expensive system Sheetrock, furniture and floors have been damaged. Nails and screws left carelessly around for an infant to find and for 2 flat tires. I can only pray that the three expensive systems live up to their reputation because the workmanship instilling them has not. I'm sorely disappointed. Purchased the customer warranty for service and went with more expensive company on its stellar reputation!! I have been so very hopeful that I would get the excellence of quality workmanship advertised! Please remedy continuing issues presented to you. I was unable to get my regular plumber; but, I was getting regular coupon mailings so I called JSP to replace two bathroom faucets. Their office communication was excellent and they told me on Monday that a tech would come on Thursday a.m.. Late Wednesday, they rescheduled the appointment to the following Tuesday am. The tech came as rescheduled; and, he was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He did a good job; but, the cost to replace the two faucets, which I supplied and were similar in design to the existing ones, was $1,038.53, with their $50 off coupon! Simple plumbing leak from a defective part they previously installed. Very nice on the phone and in person but 2 on-site visits and 10 days later it still isn't fixed. On Friday evening April 30th I contacted you to have my main line jetted. I was charged a $250 emergency fee just to have a technician come out and before any work was done. The technician who came didn't know how to jet a line so he said he would snake it for which he would have to charge me another $827 plus tax. I told him where the issue was but he began snaking past where the water was backed up. After having no luck he moved to the clean out where the water was backing up. He tried snaking that with two different snakes even though I explained that I already had it snaked and I needed to have it jetted. Finally after 5 hours he "called it " and packed up. The blockage was still there and I was charged $1,008 and change. I was told I would get a call Saturday from the technician who does the jetting. I was left with 2 young children and no bathrooms all weekend because the technician never called Saturday. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The amount of money I was charged to have no resolution to the issue is ridiculous, especially since I called to have the line jetted not snaked. If the on call tech wasn't capable of doing the work I should have been told it couldn't be done not talked into having work done that wouldn't correct the problem. I love supporting local businesses. I am normally not one to complain nor am I one to leave bad reviews but this wasn't a bad meal I received at diner, this was a serious issue that needed to be rectified immediately and instead we were left with no working bathrooms and the inability to shower or bath, even brush our teeth for the weekend. My daughter has been constipated from holding her bowels because she didn't wasn't to use any of the alternatives we were forced to use as a toilet. On Monday morning, I called another local company who promptly sent a technician out with a jetting machine and had the line cleared in under an hour. Ive emailed the company to let them know I was not satisfied giving them an opportunity to make the situation right. I have not received a response. We went with jsp because we've seen them a round the area and their sales team seemed knowledgeable friendly and responsive. One we got into the project they continued to not be able to get the systems working, they broke their lines and left the project without hiding the line feeds and replacing our broken custom soffit. We agreed with the customer service team that we would withhold and agreed upon amount for us to hide the line sand replace said soffit on our own. A few months later that amount was turned into collections without any further communication. We are now in a dispute and working towards resolution... that being said, get everything in writing whoever you work with but ultimately I'd forgo jsp as they are shady and not looking out for their customers or the community and are leaving debris and a hell of a mess when they are done. read more

These guys consistently quote prices that are incredibly high - usually 2-3x other companies. They are one of the few companies that consistently respond to inquiries but their prices are usurious. Their service charge for showing up must be enough to pay their bills. The technicians are all friendly but I've had multiple tell me I need a new well tank when my current tank is perfectly fine. Most recently I asked them to inspect a mini split system and they wanted to charge me nearly $4000 to fix the line...new mini split systems cost far less than that! This is a borderline scam and I will not use them again. read more

I cant say enough how happy I am that I found JSP!!! The office staff are always friendly and accommodating. Their field staff are friendly professional and knowledgeable. This company is the absolute best with communication. They send a text and email with a picture of the worker and a brief biography when the appointment is confirmed, the day before and when the worker is on the way. As a property manager its refreshing to work with a company that works like a well oiled machine. They have done huge jobs for us and also small jobs but that still have the same attention to detail. They're prices are reasonable and I have yet to find a need to have to question the integrity of their work. I hope to not need a plumber for any of our properties. But if we do JSP is absolutely who we will call!!!!! read more

I've had experience that "exceeds expectations" multiple times this year with JSP. My project involved a new furnace & AC system and a full house water filter too. Specifically I'd like to call out the customer service and communications from them is unique & most excellent. From my in home consultation scheduling, the survey appointment with John and estimate to very friendly office calls the days of final installation - they send text reminders & emails to confirm and communicate who's going to be in your home (pictures & short bios). The service continues to be great with Travis and Damon. It really sets the bar for home improvement service. Bravo to everyone at JSP! read more

Nice and friendly and came quickly on a Saturday, however wanted to charge me $3800 to replace my well pump, which they offered to let me "finance" it for $78/month. I was also offered a 15% discount for signing up for a savers club for $289/year. All this was overwhelming to say the least so I called someone else for a second opinion who said "that absolutely is too much". I told the tech I'd need to think about it. At that time he said they could not come back for several weeks if I didn't do it today. The next day another company came and found that the well pump did not need replacing and that the wiring and the bladder tank were the issues.... saving me thousands of dollars. They also quoted me $1600 to replace the pump if it needed to be done. Moral of this review... can't really trust this company, and their prices are clearly inflated. read more

I waited two weeks for an appointment for my AC. I previously explained to the operator that we needed antifreeze and the unit was not working. First available appointment was two weeks. So my family and I patiently waited. Today, less than 24 hours before our appointment, I just received a call stating they had to give away my AC technician appointment slot to someone else who had an 'emergency' and their AC wasn't working. WHat?! Ours hasn't been operating for two weeks but my slot was bumped the day before the long awaited appointment because they prioritized someone else ahead of us? Horrific customer service, zero lack of regard for our time spent waiting patiently all so they could make more money to take an 'emergency' call. Got a quote for a couple minor fixes in a bathroom. I have experience in plumbing so I already had a strong idea what was wrong. The young man was far off with his toilet diagnosis, and said if he tried to fix the problem there would be no guarantee. They quoted me $800 to replace the FILL VALVE. Called another company and their quote was $100. JSP is not a honorable company, ripping people off with inexperienced techs, and its only focus is making as much money as possible instead of offering a quality service to our community. Are these guys really plumbers? They are SO good and SO nice and SO fun and the gal in the front office, Carly, could run a Fortune 500 company. They just seem more like chefs than plumbers. Anyhow....our story: We bought a nice house in Red Hook last September. We spent the winter last year sitting in down parkas indoors in part of the house and in bathing suits in the rest. We summoned three plumbers for estimates and ideas of how to equalize the heating. Each had his own nutty idea -- one crazier than the next. John presented a straightforward, cost-effective solution and then arranged with the sub-contractors to get the job complete, start to finish. The various crews worked quickly and left a spotless work spot. They also do lots of small things right, like alerting you when the techs are on their way via efficient, accurate text-messaging. Unbelievably over priced. We hired JSP to install a sink that we purchased. The customer service team was very friendly and our plumber, Damon, was very professional and did a good job with the installation. However, the cost was incredibly overpriced. We went with JSP because we needed the sink install done quickly for our business and our normal contractors and plumbers were too busy to come out quickly. We were given an install date of Friday which was only 2 days out. We were told on Friday that their plumbers were stuck at other jobs and they wouldn't be able to come until Monday. This was when our original plumber could have come out but we had already scheduled with JSP so it was now too late to get our original plumber out. So we went forward with JSP. When I was given the estimate I was in shock that the cost of the sink install was $2849.84 (mind you we already had the sink and fixture- this was just an install). But we were desperate for the install so we went ahead with the job. I later called around and got price quotes ranging from $200 to $800 for the job. When I asked for an itemized list of the job costs to try to justify the difference of over $2000 I was told that they can't provide an itemized list because they offer upfront pricing. It still makes me sick to my stomach that we overpaid by so much. In a nutshell- customer service is very polite, Damon was exceptional at his job, but the companies pricing structure and lack of itemization to substantiate the charges is a terrible practice. read more

July 2022 - STAY AWAY FROM JSP SERVICES !! I had a washer drain back up in the utility room. I hired JSP Home Services to take a look at it. The house has a Cesspool. Plumber they sent there called to tell me there was no drain clean out access to the main drain. This proved to be untrue. It was there attached as clear as day. He told me he had to open the main drain on the floor to snake the clog. I did not hear from him for more then an hour. He then called to tell me that he had to open the main line in the back unfinished room to see if he could snake it... but then realized it was not in use and there was in fact a clean out on the wall attached in the front utility room. Breaking into an unused main line for no reason was a huge error. It was installed in the event that I added another bathroom or apartment in the bottom floor. It was in an unfinished room not winterized. He did this without telling me. Then JSP told me that there were two drain lines. The one dry well to the washer was snaked through the trap and it went right through. This should have been the start and finish of the job. It was not. The guy continued to tell me I should funnel all the lines into the back main line through the wall so the washer doesn't continue to get clogged. It was the first time it happened in 7 years. He said he had to put cameras down the pipes. I asked him how much for the snake but he refused to answer and give a quote. Said he had to see after he finished the job and hung up. The job was finished when the line was clear. I did not hear from him for 3.5 hours. My tenant said he was sitting in his truck and told him he was waiting for a guy to bring a camera. The plumber did not answer my calls for 3 hours. At 3:45pm, he called and said I did not hear from him because they had trouble getting the cameras down the two lines. All of this was unnecessary hog wash. He then told me the final charge was $1,580,42 !! I was livid. I waited for my tenant to send pictures of the damage on the main line in the back and the trap in the laundry room. I then confronted the JSP on their overcharges and damaged pipe. When the supervisor called back after 4 business days, he told me the snake charge was $595.00 !!! even though it went right through. He also told me they are only willing to split the charge with me after I said I would report fraud to my credit card company. The remainder was for the other unnecessary work plus tax. They then took 5 days to return $790.00. This was admitting they were ripping me off from the start. The plumber was incompetent and his supervisor said he was just doing "DUE DILIGENCE". BS - The guy was fishing for more money and did not call me. He told me he was going to quote me on putting all the pipes into the unused main line in the back... why ?? I asked, the room isn't winterized! He was fixing things that were not broken. JSP didn't send me an invoice. I had to ask for an itemized bill. They said we don't give an itemized bill! The bill they sent was a written story by the incompetent plumber about all the unnecessary work he did. At the bottom of the bill was a legal disclaimer on how they are not responsible for any damages and you are going to pay for their legal fees. They have a 2.5 Star Rating. I wish I had known. They Should have a No Star Rating. BUYER BEWARE. read more

I've used JSP in the past and they have been fair to work with. So, I recently I gave them a call to do a very small job that I could do myself but just didn't feel like doing. The job was to attach a toilet flange to the floor of my recently re-tiled bathroom and also to attach a drain elbow for the new sink in the same bathroom. I already have all the materials. I estimated this is a 1 to 2 hour job for an expert plumber for both tasks combined. They quoted me a price of $1077.00 !!! I said no thanks. Then they said , how about $700.00. I said no thanks. Then they said how about $500.00. I said no thanks. Since when did plumbers start charging over $500 per hour? Sorry JSP, I will not be calling you again nor will I continue to recommend you to my friends, family or co-workers. So, I paid them their $120 consultation fee only to end up doing it my self for about $30 dollars. Predatory! Do your homework before calling them. read more

I had a new furnace put in late summer 2020 by JSP. That went fine. I signed a contract with JSP in the spring of 2021. In the fall of 2021 I called for the first cleaning of the furnace. When a contract is signed one of the points is Priority Scheduling. When I scheduled the appointment I was told a time could not be given as to when the tech would arrive. Not even whether it would be morning or afternoon. Early afternoon on the day of the appointment I was called and told they had over booked and had to reschedule. I asked if when I rescheduled could I be the first person in the morning. I was given an appointment 2 weeks out and was told it would be 8am. On the day of the appointment I called at 8:30am wondering where the tech was. I was told they do not give arrival times. Late morning a tech did arrive. The tech did not bring a filter with him so I am guessing that was not changed. Late that afternoon I turned the heat up and had not heat. I called stating I did not have heat. A few hours later the same tech arrived and said his tools must have hit the emergency shut off at the top of the stairs and turned the furnace off. The next day I got up and the heat had come on in the middle of the night. The next night the same thing happened. I noticed on the thermostat there was something that indicated programed. I had never programmed the thermostat. I called expressing my frustration. I was told someone would contact me. I called several times and was told someone would call me and walk me through how to reset the thermostat. I told them that was unacceptable and wanted someone to come by the my house. Hours later when I heard nothing I figured out how to cancel the programming the tech had done. I have called JSP 4 or 5 times asking to have the owner call me and no call. My contract is now due for renewal so I called again. I thought maybe this was just out of the ordinary and was willing to give them a second chance. I have not received a call back. JSP says they pride themselves on customer service yet my experience has been just the opposite. Their google reviews are edited to delete bad ones.Horrible company to deal with and poor quality installation.The "high efficiency" furnace they installed burns through 300 pounds of propane in 10 days!! When we had them over to check out our furnace for safety at our new home they told us our oil furnace may not be safe to use because they could not find a new filter for it. Then they sold us on a new one.These guys cut large, fist sized holes in my sheet rock and left them, drilled holes in hardwood floors, were constantly late or had to reschedule. They took 3 weeks to do a "2"day job, used the wrong wire for thermostat so I had to go back and rewire myself. Some of their plumbing leaked so I had to put plumbers putty around the PVC joints. The furnace basically vented into my garage. They left the place a HUGE mess which I cleaned up.The install is also not up to code upon further research.On/off switch is not within view of furnace. They had to cut floor joist to get furnace in crawl space. I had to take installer to Home Depot at 9pm for parts at the direction of management! I just wanted my furnace (only heat source)on in December!! The estimator told us we would be able to use the new unit with our existing duct work somewhat effectively. He was wrong. 8k later and I still cannot use my new furnace. It is really unfortunate that I have to hire someone else to fix their mess. Lennox is no help either. Where to begin, let's start with john Parker's apples 2 apples policy. I called jsp for an estimate on a ducted ductless system when I first purchased my house in the spring of 2014. John parker came out and gave me an estimate. He was a gentleman and an all around friendly guy.I wanted my business to go to him because he was local and a small Business owner. He gave me an estimate and told me if I were to get an estimate lower than his to please call him, he would match the price as long as the hardware was the same. I called and got an estimate from a competitor and their price was substantially lower than jsp. I called john and took the time to fax him the competitors estimate. I told him if he could match their price or come within 1k of their I'd use him. Alas jsp couldn't come within 2k of competition estimate. they understood my dilemma and we parted ways. I told john I would still use him to service oil burner and odd plumbing repairs. like I said he really is a friendly guy. Fast forward 2yrs and I have jsp servicing my boiler. Jsp sent out a service tech to clean my furnace. Upon there departure my boiler no longer fired. I call them back, explaining my dilemma and they told me I'm gonna be charged an emergency diagnostic fee even though the tech just left. Long story short they didnt charge me the emergency fee but it took them 2 visits before they realized their tech gapped the nozzle spacing improperly causing burner to fire Intermittently. Fast forward to this year. I still tried to remain with jsp and called them for regular annual maintenance. This year they cancelled my first appt. Then failed to show up for rescheduled appt. Until over 4 hours past scheduled time. upon arrival and start of cleaning the tech told me that jsp no longer services heating systems unless a service plan is purchased. I didn't want a service plan but the tech had already begun work prior to telling me this new jsp policy. I was sold a 3 year service plan and the promise that all services performed would be 20% off and service fees would be waived. I grudgingly accepted and figured I'd ask about some preventive maintenance on my heating system. I asked for an estimate on an expansion tank, boiler feed valve and backflow preventer. They quoted me 960.00 for expansion tank,backflow preventer and boiler feed valve. I also asked about cutting down a baseboard from 12-6 ft. The tech couldn't give me a price on baseboard but assured me a specialist would come out and give me an estimate for this job. I went to lowes and for 180.00 In parts and 4 hours of my time did all the work myself including installation of new baseboards. At this point I decided I had made a mistake using jsp but a deal is a deal and at least I had the peace of mind that I could call them if I experienced a catastrophic failure in my plumbing or heating system. Fast forward to Monday evening. I have a main line sewer clog. I diagnosed the problem myself and knew the clog was between me and the road. I called jsp to get emergency service that night and was sure to ask for a price. The dispatcher quoted me 165.00 on the phone, completely reasonable/good price for service at 7pm. I agree and they tell me someone will be over shortly. 45 min later I received a call telling me they would not be able to come that night but that they would contact me in the morning to schedule service. Jsp called promptly at 8am and told me a tech would be out after a 10am service call. The tech showed up at 1pm and gave me a guesstimate price of 600.00 for the unclogging of my drain. I hit my boiling point. I Asked tech to leave premises and made a trip to true value in new paltz. I rented a cable drum machine/snake for 70.00 overnight and remedied the problem myslef in a little over 45 minutes. I'm done with jsp and it's a shame. We are small business owners and wanna see the small guy thrive but I work too hard for my money to be insanely uncharged by jsp. 2 thumbs down. read more

Well we had service with JSP about 6 weeks ago, we paid almost 500 dollars that we don't even have. We could hear the tech downstairs speaking to his partner that he'd never worked.in a high performance system before. He was in the phone over an hour, told us he was confident it was the switch(thermesat switch) he ordered it said once it came in he'd come back to install. We paid the 460 I believe. He came back a week later still no heat mind you. Installed the switch, still no heat. Said I think the mother board went, left because he couldn't locate to order it. I called HTP furnace company myself, told them the error code. They said it wasn't the mother board and said the switch I paid for was only $46 dollars. What the hell did I pay 500 for??!!!! And still HAVE NO HEAT, during a snow storm. We had someone else look at it they said the same thing that my furnace company said wrong switch installed 48 dollars later we had heat. We have called JSP everyday, wanting a call back and a refund they told us they had one lady in customer service and she's been out sick?!!! For 6 weeks now out sick, I run a business in Albany this is no way to handle a customer. Take your damn switch back then and refund us. It's so embarrassing for a business to be screening there calls from a customer they want to avoid. This is what you hire when you hire JSP!! Oh and the mother board they said was damaged which is not they said would be a couple grand was a 159 dollar part, I also asked my furnace company if JSP called to check over the equipment and they have no record of them calling, what did we pay for??!!!?
