I returned to the Alterations Shop a few weeks ago to have a few alterations made to a dress. Not sure what happened; however, this is one of the most expensive and tackiest alterations I have ever received. The dress was supposed to be straight in the back no overlapping material. The dress did not have overlapping material prior to me taking it to the Alteration Shop. I took the dress to REAL professionals for alterations and now the dress looks and fits exactly as it should.

It had to be taken in at the bust, and shortened. It was a double layer slip. She gave it a slight train in the back, and added a removable halter strap for me so I would be comforable after the ceremony. She also altered my bra so it would fit perfect and not show under the dress. She did this in one week. She charged $75.00 for all of that. David's bridal quoted me $125 for the dress alone, and would not add the straps as it would "alter the integrity of the dress". It looks beautiful, and I can't wait to wear it to celebrate such a happy day for one of my friends. I'll never go anywhere else.

Don't let her somewhat cluttered storefront fool you - Stephanie did a great job-- extremely fast (2 days!) -- and MUCH cheaper than most other tailors I've been to. She does not speak English very well, and at times seemed to rant about things I didn't understand. She is a nice lady, though, seems good hearted, and definitely knows what she is doing. I will definitely be back.
