I returned to the Alterations Shop a few weeks ago to have a few alterations made to a dress. Not sure what happened; however, this is one of the most expensive and tackiest alterations I have ever received. The dress was supposed to be straight in the back no overlapping material. The dress did not have overlapping material prior to me taking it to the Alteration Shop. I took the dress to REAL professionals for alterations and now the dress looks and fits exactly as it should.

I came in for a second fitting 2 weeks later and I was already amazed at the work she had done and only needed minor adjustments. When I came back to pick up the dress right before the wedding I chose not to try it on there because I was in somewhat of a hurry and when I tried it on at home it fit absolutely perfectly. It was Monday the week of the wedding, so I gave these guys a call and told them I needed a bridesmaid dress altered and asked how long it takes. The guy said about a week or two, but then asked when I needed it by. I told him I needed it Friday and he said to bring it in and he'll take a look. So I hauled on over, tried on the dress, and the guy was putting pins and stuff to see how much needed to be taken off. It was a thin dress, so I figured it wouldn't be too hard, but apparently it had a lot of layers which makes things more difficult. Again, he asked when I needed it and I said by Friday, if possible. He said he could do it! I was so relieved, but also nervous, as I did not specify that I actually needed it early afternoon, since I had to drive up to Milwaukee for the wedding. However, come Friday around noon, I dropped by, fingers crossed, and voila! It was ready! I was so incredibly thankful they were able to do it on such short notice and it looked great. I don't have a lot of needs for a dry cleaner or alterations but next time I do, I'm coming back here.

The last dress they altered for me, the end of the dress had a fancy cut, but they were able to raise the hem perfectly! I trust this shop very much. I go to them for every alteration I need! I will say that the customer service here isn't great. I do receive appropriate quality for the clothes, but the friendliness of the staff leaves something to be desired.

When I tried it on in store for measuring, she continued to tell me it wasn't worth it to take in the waist because of how little excess there was, i had to ask 2 or 3 times before she finally agreed. There was also excess around the bust, and when i pointed this out, she instead just pulled the straps tighter. I wasn't sure this was best - but she's the tailor and she ignored me when i mentioned taking in the bust on the side. She gave me a date just a few days before the wedding - i said what if it's not right? she said there's no way, 100% guarantee it'll be right. okay... i come in to pick it up and she acted like i was insane for wanting to try it on to see if it fit right. insisted there was no way it could be wrong. made me pay before i went to the dressing room. i ended up trying on and not feeling comfortable enough to say anything. i brought it home, tried it on for family members and all agreed the straps and just look extremely tight and they feel very uncomfortable. i called the store and explained the problem and she said there's nothing i can do, laughed, said sorry and hung up the phone. i'll also mention, after the measurement appointment after she'd written out the ticket and price and i was literally walking out the door she mentioned she only takes cash. don't bring your clothes here. completely lazy work, intimidating behavior. i have a completely ruined dress that can't be fixed and looks and feels terrible.
