I needed my dress from India tailored for an engagement party the next day. Monica was able to accommodate me AND get the job done in less than 2 hours same day. I was worried because of the fabric and hand beading if it would even be possible to fix without the beaded waistband being scrunched and disfigured. I believed I was being respectful, even though she said my item wouldn't be ready until 3 weeks. which was fine because I didn't necessarily need it rushed. Unfortunately, they felt a need to let me know that the pants I bought were "women's pants" even after I showed them my order (which happened to have a black male model modeling the pants) and they said (and I quote), "black man wear anything." I was referred to this place by someone so I came in this evening to get my coat serviced when I came in it was a guy in front of me being help by the lady with the short black hair & Monika was assisting a woman not one time was I acknowledge not a simple welcome in,Hello, or i'll be right with you it was nothing. I called her first to see if she could or would do some tailoring by hand, and she replied with a confident yes. My Steve McQueen Gulf Racing Jacket now has the correct patches that the Dakota company neglected to put on the jacket before it left their factory. (They were great and shipped me the correct patches at no charge) Monica saved the Day and corrected their oversight. Absolutely loved my wedding dress after Monica altered it! She did magic on my dress. She made it fit me like a glove, and did additional alterations to give me a more modest neckline from the lace on the bottom. She also did this only a couple weeks before my wedding and accommodated our schedule so easily. She offered great advice on using things like tape and making sure everything -- my dress, me, undergarments were ready for the wedding day. She also did this at a reasonable price too. Compared to other tailors I've worked with in the past, she did this faster, with higher quality work, and at a very reasonable cost. She was professional, attentive, and encouraged me (haha and my mom!) to trust her to do what she knows best. I'm so glad I did -- it looks even more amazing than I imagined it would be, and I am so much more excited for my wedding day because of her. Sometimes I take for granted 'good' 'quality' service, until I receive complements from others on how well my clothing fits me. Monica is definitely my go to for tailoring and proper etiquette in terms of appropriate alternations based upon specific venues. I went in there and Monica was not very friendly at all. and if I would have known the pricing before then I definitely would not have gone here. seeing some reviews say that Monica has good prices makes me think that I was maybe taken advantage of for being young and coming across as naive. normally I don't write reviews especially if the review isn't good but I felt so slighted that I have to inform others. Monica hemmed my dress maybe 1 inch and then fixed my straps. when it was time to pay, hearing $88 was a huge shock. i think that's a completely unreasonable, high price for the work they did on the dress. however i paid with no complaints and when asked for the receipt I said yes and it was in fact not $88 but $95 + tax. If there was some sort of charge for card they should have informed me before paying because I had the cash. And I'm not going to allow them to say there were signs because no where around the desk was there a sign addressing charges or prices. this place is such a scam. Absolute robbery. I took two suit jackets in to have the sleeves let out. I was measured and marked quickly. Once done I returned to the front counter where I was given a ticket stub and told my jackets would be ready in a week. I returned one week later, handed my jackets and charged $105. $105 to let out four sleeves! Price was NEVER mentioned during drop-off and there are no signs advertising price in store or on their website. Had I known it was going to be $105 I would have gone elsewhere. The service and turnaround were to be expected, but not worth $105. I will be going elsewhere in the future.
