Amazing tailoring by amazing people. I've been coming here for alterations since 2018. They've always done a fabulous job. So good, in fact, that I came back from Ohio to get my bridesmaid dress altered. The bridesmaid dress just needed to be taken in. I got it hemmed for cheap back in Ohio, so I just needed it taken in. Like I said, the hem was for cheap, so they didn't do a good job. That's why I went to Jodee's - I knew they would do an excellent job taking the dress in. To be clear, I did NOT ask for the dress to be hemmed, just taken in so it fit better on the sides. Well, she saw how bad the hem-job was and redid for me, without charge. The prices are fair, the ladies who run the business are delightful, and the quality is amazing...I would happily drive the 5 hours home just to get another dress done. Thank you! read more

December 2021: I brought in a bridesmaid dress that needed to be hemmed on the bottom. No other alterations were provided, and the fabric was not difficult to work with (e.g. not silk). Just a simple hem to shorten and even out the bottom of the dress. She charged me $70. When I politely asked if there was a mistake, and pointed out that was higher than what I was quoted in Lincoln Park, she did not back down. It's worth noting that her shop is an extension of her home, so it's not like she has rent and other fees to justify $70 for a simple hem on the bottom of a dress. Don't waste your time. The shop smells like mildew & dander (and now my dress does). She's dishonest, will take advantage of you, and the quality of work is decent at best. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

My main reason for writing this review is to let others know they stop seeing customers for fittings 45minutes before closing. I called to ask what time they close and I was told 2pm but was not told about the 45minutes rule. I drove 40minutes to get here so I just wanted to give a heads up for anyone reading this so you don't get sent away. However, we've been in weddings for the past 3 years and used Jodee's services each time. The quality is amazing and they're very affordable and quick! I'd highly recommend and that's why I don't mind the drive. read more

We needed a train removed from a floor length gown for the homecoming dance. The work done was beautiful and the cost was what I considered very low for the complicated task at hand. The ladies were very pleasant to work with and we will definitely be returning in the future! read more

After the debacle that was the 10 months of hell trying to secure the wedding dress I'd most unfortunately purchased at House of Brides, I was terrified at the thought of trying to find a bridal tailor. But it was absolutely necessary: I'd lost 85 lbs from dress purchase to dress arrival, and this dress was so enormous on me, it was unwearable - I looked down and nearly saw my belly button. It was held up solely by the insanely corseted back. It needed a hem, it needed a bustle. It needed WORK. My aunt swore up and down that she knew of a tailor in Naperville who was amazing and inexpensive, called JoDee tailoring. I called and was greeted by a very gruff woman who advised she didn't know if JoDee had time to do another bridal, but I could come in that Saturday and see if she could do it. Though unimpressed by the customer service, my fam rarely steers me wrong - so I went. I drove right past this place about 6 times because I didn't realize I was looking for a house, and was a bit concerned to learn this is where this "amazing tailor" was located. I wandered in and Wendy, the gruff-but-ultimately-loveable woman I'd spoken to, demanded I get in the dress and JoDee would be out to see me. I easily tossed the enormously too big gown on, and JoDee met me at the door. "Wow - those are some tattoos." "Oh, haha, yeah, I guess. Thanks." "So you wear your art on the outside?" "I guess so?" "Well. As long as you don't live a life of crime. Let's work on this dress." And so began my love affair with the teensy tiny, grey haired, sharp tongued, and insanely talented JoDee. On my first appointment, she decided we were taking out all the boning, taking in the enormous bust, hemming the dress, and going from there. When I came back the next week, we tacked the bust down even more, and did a French bustle. On my third trip, she added cups to the dress and new hooks to secure the back. And finally, today, on my fourth trip - I tried on an absolutely perfect wedding dress. I couldn't believe it was the same gown. And when she told us the total for ALL of these alterations was a mere $100, I couldn't believe it. The bustle was PERFECT. The fit is perfect. It took a long time, but I'm so excited to wear it. I ended up having 3 of my 4 bridesmaids go there too, and they all fell in love with charming little JoDee and were pleasantly surprised at the inexpensive results. Each time, JoDee expressed her excitement for our wedding to me, my mom, my maids - she seems to so genuinely care about what she does and the clients she helps. Wendy, her assistance, seems to have to warm up to you, but is such a lovely woman as well. When I left today, they both begged for me to come back with pictures - which I will gladly do! You guys I can't express in words how amazing and painless this experience was. JoDee is affordable, conveniently located, insanely quick, has accessible hours, and does incredibly accurate, beautiful work. I don't own a lot of clothing that requires tailoring but I will be taking anything I need tailored EVER AGAIN to Miss JoDee. And you should, too. read more

I've had many items tailored by Jodee and Wendy, and more recently I had such an amazing experince due a very poor experience at another tailor in St. Charles. I went to the tailor in St. Charles because it was close to where I was working at the time. Big mistake. Nothing came out the way I we origianlly agreed upon during-drop off three days prior. I was also charged $75 for only three alterations!! Long story short, I brought the polo back to Jodee's shop, and Wendee (her assistant), gave me a discounted rate and offered to have it ready in two business days! I picked up the shirt that Saturday and it fit like a present, perfect! Such amazing customer service and great follow through. I highly recommend Tailoring By Jodee to everyone! P.S. They SAVED my wedding dress! Wendy was kind enough to take a look at my butchered wedding dress only 3 days before we left for our destination wedding and Jodee fixed it in one night for a great price. OVER NIGHT! My dress was a disaster and Jodee made about 6-7 changes, HUGE! I told her what I wanted and she made it happen! My dress fits my body now and she even changed out buttons and clips that didn't fit/wrong color without hesitation. I went here to get a suit tailored. I was greeted with some of the worst service I have ever received. Wendy was rude, crude, and rolled her eyes at me at one point when I asked when the suit would be ready for pick up. JoDee did an alright job and was nice herself. Wendy was unprofessional and mean each time I went into the place to drop off and pick up my suit. There prices are average to high. JoDee, you did just fine but Wendy is the reason why I will never be back nor will I recommend this place to anybody. One more thing, Cash or check only. read more

I was so pleased with the work done and the professionalism! I had never required something to be altered before so of course I waited until a week before I needed my formal gown shortened a couple of inches to take it in. They were super friendly AND I was able to get my dress in time for the military function that I attended. It was perfect. Steer clear of this place! My wife tried a different tailor than I have used for uniforms since moving to Naperville. Boy, do we regret it. The job was done very poorly (see photo) but I thought Jodee was going to stand behind her shop's work. When I spoke to Jodee earlier in the day, I asked for a refund. She agreed and asked me to come by the store after 10AM. Upon arrival, Jodee asked to see the jacket. I showed her the photo and advised the jacket was at another tailor being fixed already as I needed to go to work. She refused the refund because, "(I wasn't) giving her a chance to fix it." I reminded Jodee that she told me a refund would be forthcoming and then she yelled that she should be given a chance to fix it. At this point, I had had enough of the poor quality and rude service. My $45 sunk cost and time lost with Tailoring by Jodee should be your forewarning. Give other Naperville tailor your business. read more

I have been going to JoDee and Wendy for the last 18 years on the suggestion of a friend. Yes, Wendy can be a little gruff at first, but she warms up after you talk to her a little. JoDee is a very sweet woman and both know their craft inside and out. She will be honest if something won't work. I'm always worried one day I am going to show up and her place will be closed because I have no idea where I would go next! Prices are very reasonable and I never feel worried handing over my clothes to these ladies. I am an odd height- in between a petite and an average, so I often buy pants to get hemmed. You do need to know it is cash or check only. Parking is limited- on the street or in her driveway if you don't block anyone in. You may miss it if you aren't looking for a little brown house where the business is in the converted garage. I can't recommend JoDee and Wendy enough! You will not be disappointed! read more

Brought a dress in to be hemmed. I had to argue with the woman about what I wanted, she refused to alter the dress like I asked until I was about to walk out. She still did not give me 100% what I wanted and the inner lining of the dress shows so I'm going to have to fix it on my own anyway. Waste of 25 bucks. read more

I went in to get my pants taken in no one was in the place but me and Wendy who is just a miserable person she was rude and I felt like I was a bother to her. Finally she made me put on the pants had me wait for what seemed like forever put some pins in the pants and said done. I came out she was like I hope you don't need these back soon, I was like whenever just tell me when. So she told me it would be pickup on Thursday which was over a week away. I went on Wednesday of the next week forgetting it was supposed to be on Thursday pickup she was again rude and said your ticket says Thursday, she wouldn't ebem look to see if they were done, she just said look at your ticket you have the wrong day! Ok you are rude and I feel bad for Jodee you are driving Her buisness away! read more

I have taken two items to be hemmed there and the first time was great. The result was extremely professionally done. Then my second item was disappointingly so-so. So I guess it all depends on which seamstress does the work that day. But the reason I won't go back is that the smell of cat litter boxes really bothers me and it is obvious she has several cats in her home and the smell is quite strong---when I brought my dress home the fabric picked up the scent!
