NOTE....... THE NEW ADDRESS for this business is as follows... 330 S. Naperville Rd. Suite 103 Wheaton, IL 630.487.7048 I recently took two pair of black pants to J. Luis Escalante to shorten and one pair to add an adjustment to the waistband. I just picked them up today and they are perfect! He is such a friendly, knowledgeable tailor. I will be using him for any alteration needs I have in the future. Mary P. read more

I've been going to LC Tailoring for a couple of years and have always been happy with their work. In the past, I've only needed minor hems, but unfortunately, my most recent experience with a formal gown was very disappointing. I brought my gown in on a Monday, along with the low heels I planned to wear. I explained exactly where I wanted the dress to fall, and we discussed the length. When he asked when I needed it, I mentioned that I had overheard him tell another customer alterations would take two weeks, so I completely understood if he couldn't accommodate me. He assured me, "It's OK. Yours doesn't require a lot of work, and I can get it done for you by Friday." He quoted me $75, and I trusted his judgment. Unfortunately, when I returned home and tried it on, I didn't have time to go back since I was leaving for a flight the next morning for my out of state event. I noticed the gown was far too long and dragging on the floor, even with the exact shoes I had brought to the fitting. I end up wearing a different pair of shoes with a higher heel. About two weeks later, I returned to explain the issue and hopefully have it corrected since the length was dramatically wrong. I approached the conversation politely, but instead of acknowledging the problem, he told me, "That's what happens when it's rushed." I explained that I understood the time frame was short, but he had assured me at the fitting he could complete the work. And he could've initially told me no and I would've been fine with that. When I asked why he was making it sound like it was my fault, he responded, "It is your fault." His exact words. That response was incredibly disappointing, especially after being a loyal customer for years. I never demanded a rushed job. I specifically gave him the opportunity to decline, and he assured me it wouldn't be a problem. Mistakes happen, and I would have been completely understanding if he had simply acknowledged the issue and offered to make it right. What bothered me most wasn't the poorly hemmed gown, but the way I was treated when I returned. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning to LC Tailoring. read more

Please do not give this man your business. We have been giving him business since 2017. He has been late multiple times but this last time, he was incredibly rude and condescending. Then he has the audacity to send me this message two months later (see pic). The level of unprofessionalism is astounding. read more

LC Professional Tailor - Rude message from owner - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Wheaton, Illinois

Luis is not only a phenomenal tailor, he's also a down to earth and genuine human being. I've been taking my clothes that need altering to Luis for several years now. I found out about his shop when I lived down the street in Wheaton and have since moved a half hour away and guess what? I still take my clothes with him because he's that good. His superb craftsmanship and nice personality has earned a lifelong customer in me and I've thrown all kinds of projects his way and he always delivers, whether it's original hem jean alterations, sleeve shortening for suits and wool jackets, jogger pants tapering and alterations, he can do it all. Prices are also competitive, so overall very good value. Thank you for all that you do, Luis and team! read more

I had very little time get my suit altered before flying out to Hawaii for our wedding. Luis not only got it done on time, but he did an exceptional job. He worked with me to figure out exactly what I was looking for, and he delivered 100%. What's even better is that Luis is a great person to deal with, and he seems to be full of good vibes. My wife also had sleeves added to her dress, and had it altered. Needless to say, she was very happy with the results. Our wedding couldn't have happened without you, Luis. Thank you! read more

Have been coming here sporadically, but I find the owner rude and wanted to charge me $25 to take up a pair of pants. Take your business else where . read more

Luis did a phenomenal job tailoring my wedding dress, which was a challenging project to say the least. My dress was multiple layers of tulle and intricate lace, which needed to be taken in slightly, and hemmed in a way that didn't disrupt the larger pattern of the dress. He was meticulous in getting it to look absolutely perfect from all angles, including when bustled. He listened to all of my concerns over the course of our multiple, hour-long appointments and ultimately charged a very fair price for what was many hours of work on his end. read more

I've come here a few times with for some special items. Luis altered three skirts that my grandma handmade when she was younger so I could wear one to her funeral and he did an outstanding job. He also recently altered a bridesmaid dress for me while 18 weeks pregnant and made sure the dress fit well but was still comfortable. A little pricey but I don't mind paying more for quality work. read more

I am standing up in a wedding, and I wanted to take my dress here to get hemmed based on the reviews I read. I have tried going twice WITHIN BUSINESS HOURS, and both times it was closed. To note, I am not from Wheaton, and had to drive about 20 minutes each time. I was going to rate 1 star, but didn't feel that was fair considering I wasn't able to get service. Regardless, I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I'm late in writing my review! I first found Luis through Yelp last year, and he was quick to get back to me with a quote. I asked if he could transform a dress with a halter and turn it into a sweetheart neckline. He also hemmed up the bottom and it fit perfectly. I felt confident in it all night for my brother's wedding. Fantastic craftsmanship read more

Luis did fantastic tailoring work, had perfect communication, was extremely friendly and had great suggestions for how to make my tuxedo fit perfectly. Price was extremely reasonable with a quick turnaround time, I'll be back the next time I need something tailored. Thank you Luis! read more

If I could give Luis 10 stars I would. I needed to get my wedding dress altered about 2 months out from the wedding, and by sheer luck found Luis. I sent out a request for a quote to numerous tailors, and Luis was the quickest to respond. So, I went with him. He was friendly, responsive, and super affordable. I bought a strapless flounce dress, but wanted to add a little more elegance. Luis was able to take the strapless gown and add beautiful off-the-shoulder sleeves. The fit of the dress is impeccable. Highly recommended. A+. Will be coming back. read more

This tailoring shop is fantastic. The proprietor is very kind and personable and always offers us speedy service. His work is fantastic and relatively inexpensive, and his hours are convenient. Great quality, quick, inexpensive, personable. What's not to like? read more

Have used LC a number of times now to get adjustments in men's pants and dress shirts. Quality of the work has been spot on, fit is great and what I expected, prices are reasonable, and the turnaround time was good (he can get quite busy). Would highly recommend for work like mine (can not speak to other services). read more

My son needed his suit jacket altered for prom, but like a typical teenager he procrastinated this to-do item. Luis was willing to do the alteration in a week for $70. That is the good. The bad was the alteration work. The front left side of the chest puckered when the coat was buttoned, and was easily apparent in every picture. Brought the jacket back to him the following Monday evening, and he refused to even attempt to correct it. At first he said there wasn't a problem. I pointed out the obvious pucker and asked if we are just suppose to live with this every time he wears his suit. Then he said that the jacket was too big and that was not his fault. I asked if there was anything that could be done; and he said that he would have to take the whole sleeve and shoulder apart. And that he was not willing to do it. He wasn't even willing to provide a cost or options to to do it. I don't believe the work was done correctly to begin with. And then $70 later he had no interest in trying to correct it. If you use Luis, you better get it right the first time. read more

Luis did a great job altering the sleeves on my IT leather jacket and altering pants. Good as it gets in my book.

Luis is an awesome tailor. He's hemmed things for me, taken in dresses that don't fit me -- always turns out great. He is probably one of the best tailors I've been to -- even compared to those who are considered creme de la creme downtown chicago. I highly recommend! read more

I ripped the extremely delicate embroidered hem of a ridiculously expensive dress. I ordered the dress on line and ripped it with a stiletto heel while trying it on. What can I say, I'm clumsy. Having recently moved to Wheaton, I didn't have a tailor so I found Louis through this site. He was absolutely wonderful. He was very thoughtful about the best way to fix the dress and very thorough in his search for the proper fabric to do the job. Needless to say, when I picked up the dress, I could not find where the dress had been ripped without some very serious scrutiny of the hem. He is definitely my go-to tailor and I recommend him 100% percent. Thanks Louis!! read more

I love this shop, Luis does excellent work and is very pleasant. Very fortunate to have him right near where I catch the train every day.

Fair price, and a keen eye for detail, offering a suggestion for letting out the pants in the crotch, I was having hemmed, to be more comfortable and staying stream lined to be slimming and professional. Quick turn around the next day meant I had more time to worry about other job interview concerns outside of my interview. read more

After a week of unsuccessful attempts to contact the tailor I normally use in Glen Ellyn, I went to Louis at LC Professional Tailor out of desperation. I needed alterations made to a gown I was planning to wear to a wedding. Louis was professional and skilled. He had me come back for a fitting a few days later to make sure everything was perfect before he completed the final hem on the 3 layers of fabric. The dress was ready on-time and the cost was most reasonable for the amount of work done. Since then, my husband had two business suits updated and tailored. Again, the cost was quite reasonable, and my husband walked away with what looked like two brand new suits. Louis always answers his phone, is friendly, professional and completes his work on time. His prices are commensurate with the exceptional service he provides. I am thrilled to have found a local tailor whom I can trust to provide exceptional service. Highly recommended. read more

I have taken many pair of pants to this tailor, casual and dress, and could not be happier. I have tried other tailors in the area and have not had good results. Luis is very professional and pleasant to work with. He also has quick turn-around time and reasonable prices. I would highly recommend LC Professional Tailor. read more
