I found out about his shop when I lived down the street in Wheaton and have since moved a half hour away and guess what? I still take my clothes with him because he's that good. Luis did a phenomenal job tailoring my wedding dress, which was a challenging project to say the least. My dress was multiple layers of tulle and intricate lace, which needed to be taken in slightly, and hemmed in a way that didn't disrupt the larger pattern of the dress. He was meticulous in getting it to look absolutely perfect from all angles, including when bustled. He listened to all of my concerns over the course of our multiple, hour-long appointments and ultimately charged a very fair price for what was many hours of work on his end. read more

I've come here a few times with for some special items. Luis altered three skirts that my grandma handmade when she was younger so I could wear one to her funeral and he did an outstanding job. He also recently altered a bridesmaid dress for me while 18 weeks pregnant and made sure the dress fit well but was still comfortable. To note, I am not from Wheaton, and had to drive about 20 minutes each time. I was going to rate 1 star, but didn't feel that was fair considering I wasn't able to get service. If I could give Luis 10 stars I would. I needed to get my wedding dress altered about 2 months out from the wedding, and by sheer luck found Luis. I sent out a request for a quote to numerous tailors, and Luis was the quickest to respond. So, I went with him. He was friendly, responsive, and super affordable. I bought a strapless flounce dress, but wanted to add a little more elegance. Luis was able to take the strapless gown and add beautiful off-the-shoulder sleeves. The fit of the dress is impeccable. My son needed his suit jacket altered for prom, but like a typical teenager he procrastinated this to-do item. Luis was willing to do the alteration in a week for $70. That is the good. The bad was the alteration work. The front left side of the chest puckered when the coat was buttoned, and was easily apparent in every picture. Brought the jacket back to him the following Monday evening, and he refused to even attempt to correct it. At first he said there wasn't a problem. I pointed out the obvious pucker and asked if we are just suppose to live with this every time he wears his suit. Then he said that the jacket was too big and that was not his fault. I asked if there was anything that could be done; and he said that he would have to take the whole sleeve and shoulder apart. And that he was not willing to do it. He wasn't even willing to provide a cost or options to to do it. I don't believe the work was done correctly to begin with. And then $70 later he had no interest in trying to correct it. If you use Luis, you better get it right the first time. read more

I ripped the extremely delicate embroidered hem of a ridiculously expensive dress. I ordered the dress on line and ripped it with a stiletto heel while trying it on. What can I say, I'm clumsy. Having recently moved to Wheaton, I didn't have a tailor so I found Louis through this site. He was absolutely wonderful. He was very thoughtful about the best way to fix the dress and very thorough in his search for the proper fabric to do the job. Needless to say, when I picked up the dress, I could not find where the dress had been ripped without some very serious scrutiny of the hem. After a week of unsuccessful attempts to contact the tailor I normally use in Glen Ellyn, I went to Louis at LC Professional Tailor out of desperation. I needed alterations made to a gown I was planning to wear to a wedding. Louis was professional and skilled. He had me come back for a fitting a few days later to make sure everything was perfect before he completed the final hem on the 3 layers of fabric. The dress was ready on-time and the cost was most reasonable for the amount of work done. Since then, my husband had two business suits updated and tailored. Again, the cost was quite reasonable, and my husband walked away with what looked like two brand new suits. Louis always answers his phone, is friendly, professional and completes his work on time.
