I brought my gown in on a Monday, along with the low heels I planned to wear. I explained exactly where I wanted the dress to fall, and we discussed the length. When he asked when I needed it, I mentioned that I had overheard him tell another customer alterations would take two weeks, so I completely understood if he couldn't accommodate me. He assured me, "It's OK. Yours doesn't require a lot of work, and I can get it done for you by Friday." He quoted me $75, and I trusted his judgment. Unfortunately, when I returned home and tried it on, I didn't have time to go back since I was leaving for a flight the next morning for my out of state event. I noticed the gown was far too long and dragging on the floor, even with the exact shoes I had brought to the fitting. I end up wearing a different pair of shoes with a higher heel. About two weeks later, I returned to explain the issue and hopefully have it corrected since the length was dramatically wrong. I approached the conversation politely, but instead of acknowledging the problem, he told me, "That's what happens when it's rushed." I explained that I understood the time frame was short, but he had assured me at the fitting he could complete the work. And he could've initially told me no and I would've been fine with that. When I asked why he was making it sound like it was my fault, he responded, "It is your fault." His exact words. That response was incredibly disappointing, especially after being a loyal customer for years. I never demanded a rushed job. I specifically gave him the opportunity to decline, and he assured me it wouldn't be a problem. Mistakes happen, and I would have been completely understanding if he had simply acknowledged the issue and offered to make it right. What bothered me most wasn't the poorly hemmed gown, but the way I was treated when I returned. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be returning to LC Tailoring.

The elderly Italian gentlemen that run this business barely speak English even though I know they've been in the country longer than I've been alive (30 years). However, the language of clothes is global. As the previous reviewer stated it is not the most organized place but, the customer area and changing rooms are spotless. They've never misplaced an order of mine so I could careless how unorganized there work area is as long as it doesn't affect me as the customer. I've used them mostly for suit alterations and occasionally a coat or shirt but my mother uses them for everything. They do a good job on both men's and women's clothing. They may cost more than your cleaners or dept. stores (I don't use other places so I'm not sure) but for the quality I've received I would happily pay more if needed.

While one helped me get sleeves shortened on a suit coat, the other was working on alterations just a few feet away. Kind of a cool vibe. I have family members that have used this tailor several times - it came recommended to us by someone...can't remember who...might even have been a Nordstrom sales person (yet another reason to love Nordstrom) and it was described to me as "not the cleanest" and maybe even smelling of smoke. The store does has a scent to it. Not sure if it's smoke, or dry cleaning solvent, or hot irons, or what. My jacket sleeves were $20 - I have no idea what this should cost, but it would have been more had I taken it back to where I bought it, I'm pretty sure. There were unable (or unwilling) to attempt to lengthen the sleeves on a top coat with working buttons. I can't hold that against them, as logic tells me that if you rolled the hem out on the sleeves, the buttons and button holes wouldn't line up any more, and you can't exactly remove a button hole. This is what I get for buying nice things. Anyway, picked up the jacket a week later, and the work was fine. I mean, it wasn't anything too difficult, but they did a good job at it. My jacket does have a little bit of a smell to it after being in the shop...again, I don't think it's smoke, but it's not pleasant. Hopefully it will air out a bit. One note - cash or check only. Sigh. How many times have I said it - Charge me more to cover the transaction fee and get a credit card machine. They're lucky I had cash - I almost never do.

5 Star service all the way…read more I am an infrequent client but need alterations done once in a while that I can not do myself. I left my shorts to be taken in after they measured and pinned them to my size. Normally, it takes about 2 weeks to complete, but they said 10 days because I was leaving on a vacation and wanted to take them with me. I arrived the day before my trip, and the shorts were not completed. The owner of the shop not only finished them that day; she also hand-delivered them to my home that evening! She went above and beyond to make sure I had them for my trip. They were a perfect fit, pressed and ready to pack. Very Impressed. Would highly suggest this business. I will be back!

The sweater was only worn once and was soft with no piling when I dropped it off. When I got it back the fabric was piling and falling apart. It wasn't a great quality sweater but when I returned to show them what I found I was told that it was my fault for buying polyester instead of wool and that it would have fallen apart at some point anyways so it's not their fault. Needless to say I left absolutely shocked. As a professional dry cleaning service they know fabric and if you know a fabric can't handle a service why would you continue to service it with risk of ruining it. The professionalism and customer service deserves 0/10.
