I am writing to formally complain about my experience at your Firestone location today…read more I scheduled an appointment for 11:30 AM for an oil change only at the same location I have used previously. I arrived at approximately 11:22 AM and dropped my vehicle off. Because I did not have anyone available to pick me up, I planned to wait nearby and went to the Dunkin' next door. At approximately 12:30 PM, I noticed that my vehicle had been taken into the service area and had apparently been there for approximately an hour. I assumed that the oil change was either being completed or that the vehicle was at least being worked on. At approximately 1:27 PM, I went back to the service counter because I was under the impression that my vehicle was finished. I was told that it was not finished. At this point, I also observed employees in the garage eating pizza while my vehicle was still sitting in the service area. I waited approximately another 30 minutes before getting back in line at the service counter to ask when my vehicle would actually be completed. The employee went into the back to check on it and returned to tell me that my oil change had not even been started. At that point, I requested my keys and left. I had been there for approximately three hours for an appointment that was scheduled specifically for an oil change, only to find out that the service had not even begun. I am extremely disappointed by how this was handled. I understand that automotive services can sometimes take longer than expected. That is not my issue. My issue is that my vehicle was apparently taken into the service area, left there for an extended period of time, and I was given no indication that the work had not even been started. Had I been told upfront that there was going to be a significant delay, I could have made an informed decision about whether to wait or make other arrangements. Additionally, when I retrieved my vehicle, the protective plastic and paper that had been placed inside the vehicle had been left behind. I had to remove it myself before leaving. I have used this Firestone location previously, which is why I returned. After today's experience, however, I am seriously questioning whether I can trust this location with my vehicle or my time in the future. I would like this complaint escalated to the appropriate management/corporate team and would appreciate an explanation of what happened today, why my vehicle was left in the service area for approximately an hour without the oil change being started, and why I was not informed of the delay. I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for basic communication, accountability, and respect for my time as a customer. I look forward to hearing from someone who can properly address this situation.
