One of the best values I think I've gotten in St Louis. I got the falafel sandwich and it was huge and only like $14.50 I believe. I am a big eater and I feel like I got plenty of food. It wasn't only the quantity that stood out but it tasted super good and incredibly fresh. The only inconvenience is that it is south of afton but if I lived down there I would definitely be a regular. J's Pitaria was such a surprise! We had never heard of this place before we went there on our way to the Lumiere Sculpture park night. It was delicious! We ordered the Meat Pie, Hummus, Beef Gyro, and the J's Famous Döner Kebab. All of these items were fresh and definitely worth trying. The meat pie was the first item brought out to us and was such a great kickoff to the meal. Inside the pie was some tender beef. It was so gooood! We also had the hummus to start, and the portion was more than we expected, The hummus itself was tasty and so was the bread used to dip. Our man courses, The beef gyro and döner kebab were large and thoroughly enjoyed :-) It wasn't a richly seasoned beef or super tender, but good. The fillings on both sandwiches were also fresh and balanced the sandwiches well. They also were accompanied by crunchy chips which were not too bad either! Overall, a great meal. Yelp needs a whole new star rating for J's Pitaria. Stopped in with the family today for an early dinner and had one of the best meals of my life. The daughter and I grabbed the Steak Berliner (hers w/o the hot sauce) with a side of chips. I literally could not put the sandwich down. The son got the Chicken Panini and I swear his sandwich was gone before I even took my first bite. The boss got the Cheesesteak Sandwich and I stole a couple of bites of this and the cheese was so delicious, but I'd still go for the Berliner. The staff were all super friendly and helpful with tips and yes we can do thats. Orders are made fresh for you so it took about 10-15 minutes for the meals to be delivered to the table, so worth the wait. Easy lunch with amazing options. Never going to leave here hungry. I was excited that they sell their signature bread as a stand alone item. Some reviews mentioned the customer service---Staff doesn't do throw confetti when you walk in or order, but they are fantastic and guided me through the menu, which is fantastic. The meat wasn't seasoned much. Again, the bread was wonderful and everything was fresh. But the gyro just wasn't great. My wife had a flat bread and she felt the same. Everything was fresh, and the bread was great. But the meat was bland. I think many will love this place, and this review is limited since we didn't try anything other than what is mentioned. The food here is amazing! However...it is not the customers fault that they are so busy to service customers properly. This is the second time we were treated like cattle. They provided us with the wrong pick up order and drove 30 miles back home to find out we had someone else's order. Had to drive all the back and correct it. Mistakes happen- I get it.
