J's kitchen is the worst place to order for food. I just went there to pick up a quart of white rice to go with my lunch, and was charged 3.50+tax for it . When I got back to the office to have lunch the white rice smelled like rotten dirty feet. I checked there menu prices, the quart should have only cost 1.95+tax, I guess the extra was for the feet smell. read more

The food here is amazing. We had it delivered and it arrived in 30 mins (super fast!). This was my first time having food from here and I will definitely order from them again! Moved back to the area after being away for a few years. I loved Amazing Wok growing up and lived on their lo mein. Unfortunately, had a bad experience the other night. Ordered shrimp lo mein and it tasted like it had gone bad. I called to let them know but didn't really get much of a reaction and was too far to bring it back. I can't believe I am giving this place 5 stars but I have to. It's damn good! Chinese food to me has to fall into 2 categories. Authentic or greasy Queens style. Authentic being bird beaks and feet in my soup, pork steamed buns and a lot of other food I don't like. If it's the greasy Queens style, it better remind me of my formative years on Long Island. This place does just that. If I am trying a new diner or breakfast spot, I order scrambled eggs or eggs over easy, potatoes and toast. If you can't make that, you fail. The same holds true for a Chinese restaurant. Sweet & sour chicken, fried rice and an egg roll. This restaurant nailed it. The chicken was white, really light and crispy batter. The sweet and sour sauce was perfect. The vegetable fried rice was perfect. My only complaint is one I have everywhere. Please consider making a won ton soup with vegetable wontons or just empty won tons. The soup was a fabulous flavor but I don't eat pork. Thanks J's kitchen! read more

Ordered tonight for the first time. Very disappointed. I ordered chicken wing combo with shrimp fried rice. Chicken had a cinnamon taste too it which was weird. Also the chicken wings were really dark as if they were cooked in dirty fryer oil. The rice was undercooked. Also wasn't happy with the spicy crab sushi roll i received. The sushi was falling apart. Better than the rest. I've eaten at many chinese restaurants before, and so I can honestly say that there isn't that much of a difference between them. Sometimes, the gerneral tso's is sweeter than others, or the hot and sour is spicier, but other than that, they're basically the same. All that changed when I came to Amazing Wok. I ordered for two people, myself and my girlfriend. I had the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice lunch and let me say not many restaurants still broil their spare ribs and boneless ribs on a grill. Many places that I have gone to just deep fry their ribs, leaving them really oily and tough. I was happily surprised that the ribs were cook to perfect tenderness. My girlfriend didn't know what she wanted, so the lady at the desk kindly suggested the bourbon chicken lunch, one of their newer dishes. It was also cooked on the grill, and so once again the texture was amazing, and the flavors were both sweet and a hint of spicy. We both really liked it. The only problem was that both dishes didn't have any vegetables in it. So next time we come in we will definitely know to order those dishes with a side of mixed veggies. Both dishes were also very inexpensive, it was about 11 dollars, and we got free sodas with it. It's too bad though, it seemed like they don't get that much lunch business because when we walked in to order the lights in the front were turned off. I would absolutely recommend my friends and co-workers to come here, I wouldn't want to see a good place go. read more

This is probably one of the best take-out places in Latham. The staff is always accommodating to personal preferences such as my dislike of celery. Their Kung Bo (aka Kung Pao) chicken is really delicious and my husband's favorite. Their dumplings are quite good and the dipping sauce addictive. The soups are a staple in my house when I have a cold which is often in the fall and winter. My only critique is the lack of spicy when you ask for something to be made extra spicy, it is often dependent on who is cooking that day. But the pros defiantly outweigh the cons, and after trying almost every Chinese takeout in the Latham (Rte 9/155) area, this is by far my favorite. read more

I've got take out from here a few times in the past when I visit the area, it's always been a great experience, until now... I read some recent bad reviews but thought I'd place my order... I ordered Beef Sticks (they were good), and the Sesame Chicken Special Combo (with pork fried rice and an egg roll)... The first thing I noticed was the smell of the rice, it was musty, thinking it might be the plastic container I tried some, NOPE, it was the rice, it tasted horrible! Since I was really hungry, I ate the Beef Sticks and Sesame Chicken and egg roll... I called the restaurant back to tell them about the rice... I was told that I was not the only one that ordered rice today... Not really sure what that meant... But I insisted that something was wrong with it... She told me that she would send a replacement Pork Fried Rice, I said it was okay, but she insisted since she had a delivery to the Hotel I was at. I saved the bad rice and gave it to the delivery guy so they could smell the problem... The replacement rice was better, but still had a slight musty smell and taste, although there were an excessive amount of raw onion, maybe to cover uo mustinessness? I guess unfortunately something has changed recently as others have complained about... I'll need to find another restaurant next time. read more

This is my all-time favorite Chinese/Japanese takeout restaurant. I used to work at the Lowe's just up the street and often loved to stroll down here on lunch. I have never had a bad experience here. Excellent food, very personable service, and (when having delivered) the fastest menu-to-door you could possibly expect. I love these guys and hope they are around at least as long as i am! The first few times I ordered their food was good, I had no complaints. LAST NIGHT I ordered bourbon chicken and there was a BUG in it! A BIG BLACK BUG! Good thing I didn't eat it! I noticed it when I made my plate of food! I seen something moving in the sauce and it was the bugs legs! Im just so happy that I noticed it before I took a bite. I'm so disgusted by this, I don't think I'm eating take out for a very long time. Best Chinese food in our area. Everything we've tried has been delicious. It's always on time or early as well. Coconut shrimp and the beef with broccoli are our family favorites, but seriously everything else we've gotten has been great too. read more
