Delivery was prompt but Food was really bad. Yolo Roni Detroit style pizza undercooked. Cinnamon knots undercooked. Arugula salad blue cheese spoiled. Even canned limonata sodas were warm. Gonna be sick tonight. Don't bother with this place!

I wish I knew about this place sooner - I love the pizza sizes they offer, as well as the airy dough. My sister & I got the pepperoni and pizza bianca. Needless to say, both were delicious, with thick cuts of pepperoni, sweet cheese for the bianca & the delicious dough! My only suggestion is to add more indoor seating as it tends to be windy outside. Other than that, I highly recommend this place!

You know Joyride Pizza has to be really good when you commit to bouncing from one location to another to add wings to your pizza order. Yeah, their wings are really great: Savory, fatty and pillowy especially when you drizzle hot honey over them. We picked up our "Too Good To Go" surprise pizza on Valencia (hello beautiful "Garden Goddess" with pesto, arugula, ricotta, red onion and tiny tomatoes) and wanted to add 18 chicken wings to our order. Somehow DoorDash cancelled it out. No matter, I stopped into the Union Street store on the way back from dropping off Finn at Letterman pool- and Joyride on Union was out of wings! If these wings weren't so good I would've never crossed town again- in Friday night traffic no less - but I did. It was worth it. Shout out to Valencia Street manager Nelson and Autumn on Joyride Union Street who personally placed our order- thank you!

Detroit-style pizza in SF. Thick pan pizza cut into rectangles with crispy edges and sauce over the cheese. Our build your own pizza had small smattering of pepperoni slices and black olives ($28 in 2025). I wasn't a big fan of the tomato sauce, but my friend loved it. The side order of the tater tots were marketed as kinda fancy with garlic gremolata, but they tasted very similar to regular tots ($8 in 2025). We ordered to go and picked it up. Really nice location inside and I had an nice interaction with the person behind the counter.

Great place to visit after visiting the MOMA the food was delicious and the seating was nice especially with infants in our group. The prices were moderate and we will enjoy coming back again. Great location.

Ok but didn't live expectations. Friends have told me that this is the place to go for pizza. But after visiting and trying some, it's good but over-hyped. Good options and value is ok. I would go again if in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.

If you like Detroit style pizza then I'd check this place out for sure. They have many different ones to choose from, and you can order a personal or large size. The restaurant is super small, but they have two tables outside that you can sit on. You order through the large tablets set by the counter and you don't speak with anyone until they call your order out. The only thing I didn't like was that they put two different pizzas in the same box, which we didn't ask for. They made up for it by having great tasting pizza though. It was hard for me to choose which one I wanted to try.

Best goddamn pizza ever. Detroit style rips, crispy bottom with a perfect ricotta topping. Small hole in the wall vibes with quick service. Will go again bc they had several interesting fla

Despite the hefty price tag and the language barrier between us and the person taking our order this place offered up a legit tasty Detroit style pizza, and cold refreshing beers that hit the spot for us. We chose to sit outside to enjoy the view on this lovely day. If you are already on the Embarcadero and in the mood for pizza I'd definitely give this spot a try, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get there.

A delicious square pie! The cheese-covered crust was a standout. I ordered it for pickup, and it was ready in under 5 minutes (super quick). The flavor was fantastic, and the marinara on top added an extra layer of tastiness. The dough was soft and satisfyingly doughy. Highly recommend! The place has a fast-casual vibe that works well.

If you enjoy your pizza THICK, this is the place for you! I just got a slice of pepperoni but it filled me up due to the thickness of the dough. It's a square pizza so the crust around it is covered with cheese. You order from a kiosk and don't get much interaction with the employees. I know sometimes they have happy hour where some of the orders are half off which I think it's a great deal!

This crappy pizza was almost $40 with their suggested tip. Also this is a full pizza the largest you can order. About the size of my hand.

$50 dollars for 2 slices of pizza and 6 wings. Waited 30 minutes for almost nothing. Either I got ripped off or I got ripped off. Pizza was good according to the one person that ate it.

What is wrong with their dough? I was so hungry and so disappointed
    Elma C.

Sad-slide pizza? I don't remember these pizza slices being this bad--the dough tasted like it was two days old. On top of that, a plain cheese slice costs $12.25. I am never coming back here. Save yourself the disappointment and head to Tony Gemignani's. Even Detroit style slices around $7-$8 and actually taste like pizza should.

Ask the Community - Joyride Pizza

Can you do the crust Gluten free AND Dairy free at the same time?

Our gluten free crust is made with buttermilk powder. So, it’s not 100% dairy free. If that’s okay, we can ALSO make it with dairy free cheese, so it’s about 99.5% dairy free.

    How big is the pizza?

A slice is about 4x6. 2 is enough for an adult.

    Is this place pet friendly?

Yes, there's a bench right outside the door, plus more seating near the road.

Do they have any samovar tea drinks?

Samovar drinks are available from samovartea.com.

Is this place still open? Went by here last Tuesday around noon and they had sign outside saying they're "temporary closed to fix some issues". There Wasn't any date or time of when they would be back open

I saw it re/opened yesterday aug 11. Good luck!

The entire pizza had shifted in the box, slices were folded over, grease was splattered all over the lid, and it was no longer hot by the time it arrived. What made this even more frustrating was the amount paid for delivery. In addition to the food cost, I paid a $3.99 delivery fee, a $5.70 service fee, and tipped the driver $5.50. For that kind of added cost, I think it's reasonable to expect the pizza to arrive level, intact, and hot. The restaurant is about 4 miles from my house, and it appeared the delivery was made by bicycle, which may explain why the pizza ended up tilted and damaged during transport. I can't say that for certain, but something clearly went wrong between the restaurant and my door. The pizza itself may have been good fresh out of the oven, but the delivery experience completely ruined it.
