This is a nice furniture store for custom couches, ottomans and chairs. The store is not big, so not a lot of furniture you can see in the showroom. Most of it is in catalogs and online. Prices as expected are through the roof but I guess that's what you pay for custom furniture. People who work here are polite and accommodating. read more

The video on the listing is deceptive marketing it looked as if the feet and the head area moved independently of one another. And smoothly. And they don't they move together and not smoothly, and my body cannot do that after neurosurgery. Based on what my husband and I saw it did look like they worked independently, and it said nothing in the description about that so we trusted what we saw.  I understand it costs money to have someone pick up the chair for a return, however this seems highly unfair when the listing made it seem smoother as well as things working independently when reclining each and they don't - they recline at the same time. This feels like terrible marketing and customer service to not make it right or attempt to. Do not buy this product if you want a smooth recline and are looking for the leg and head recline to be independent of one another. It's not comfortable. The only thing it's got going for it is it's beautiful. I wish I would have never bought this because now my only option is returning with a 50% restocking fee. I purchased this chair with GoFundMe money so this is no small price tag for me and it seems like terrible customer service and marketing to not make this right. read more

Honestly, probably one of the worst customer services experiences we've had. Scheduled a delivery a week and a half out, and received email confirmation our day/time was locked in. The day before we had not received a confirmation as to the specific time. We reach out to get more information, and are told they accidentally didn't input our confirmed shipping date into the system. Nothing that could be done. Requested to escalate to speak to a supervisor and promised a call back in ten minutes. The call never came, and the store no longer answers the phone. Corporate number also unable to help. Given how Joybird markets itself, and given that there is a $180 fee for home delivery and an 'easy' experience, this is anything but. Very disappointed that there's no follow through on promises and no follow up when things don't go as they promised. read more

We went into the showroom knowing what we wanted. We were after the Lewis Sofa. We knew they only had the sectional in stock, so we came to get a feel for how it would be anyway. David met us and was easy going showing us around the product and the the different swatches. We chose Bentley Pewter which is sort of a light gray color. We quickly ordered it and paid and that was that. A couple weeks later we confirmed our delivery date. Today it was delivered almost exactly on time for the window we were given. Our delivery guys were fast and brought the sofa all the way in and took away the plastic coverings. So far I love the sofa. Finally some seating depth and a sofa that doesn't sag from having an internal pullout bed. read more

Upon entering we started to chat with Jeremy, who was VERY patient and thorough in walking us through all the couch options. Between that and the black friday deal, it made the purchase a no brainer. Buyer beware - the showroom will sell you a couch that will never fit in a normal doorway/home without a word. The truck that tried to deliver ours had another couch in it already that didn't fit in someone's home. The design of the couches is for only people with freight elevators or double doors, and the directions to tell if it will fit in your home are wholly insufficient. Now they say there's nothing they can do for return/refund other than 50% of the price. They suggested I resell the couch to try to get more than 50%. Don't make the same mistake we did. read more

I had an excellent shopping and design consultation experience with Lino! Moving into a new space with no furniture -- I was overwhelmed with paradox of choice. I'm a designer but still felt like I needed some guidance to narrow down options and see/feel/sit on the furniture in person. I showed up with measurements for my space and some vague ideas. Lino patiently worked with me for 1.5 hrs -- we looked at a ton of different models (in the store and online), fabric swatches, talked about performance fabrics that would be dog friendly etc. I landed with a great collection of furniture that works cohesively together, and was able to take advantage of their spring 30% off sale. Joybird let's you tentatively place your order in the store to hold it- but I was sent home with a box of swatches so I could deliberate without the pressure of finalizing my order on the spot. Seeing the fabric at different times of day in my space really helped me finalize my decision. I loved being able to experience the furniture IRL. It was a better experience than the direct-to-consumer brands I've been debating but hadn't settled on. Lead times for anything new will be 6-20 week (that's just the market right now). I feel more confident having sat on the furniture that I'll love my items after such a long wait. Highly recommend Lino and the Joybird team! read more

She provided us with swatches and even sent me an email with a cart of the items I liked so I wouldn't have to remember the names of any of the items. It didn't fit through our door so they charged a $1600 "restocking fee" to put it back in their warehouse and re-sell it to the next sucker. Joybird made an attempt to resolve the issues with the first sofa by offering a new one, but it only made things worse. In fact, the replacement was just as bad: it came with a bunch of long threads sticking out; the one-piece seat cushion was dented on one side, so I kept the cushion from the first one; and the old wet lumbar wood odor was just as strong on this sofa, as the first one. I should also mention that Joybird doesn't implement anything to keep the seat cushion from sliding, so it's been annoying to have to push the seat cushion back into place after sitting for a while. I ended up having to buy a long piece of velcro from Amazon, and it's helped. My original review stands. You'll probably get a better product from any other company having their furniture pieces made abroad (Mexico, China, etc)... it's all the same, with a simple name brand slapped on it. read more

We went into the Joybird store in San Francisco to JUST look at a couch we saw online. We were immediately greeted by Haven. No pressure for a sale, but wanted to make sure we were aware of different options with couches and the discounts that the store was offering. The couch we selected, the Bryant Modular is the perfect fit for our home. Haven was incredibly knowledgeable and offered different ideas and options. We would highly recommend Joybird. Update: it finally happened. The puppy puked neon yellow with chunks of broccoli. Stepped in it. Spread it. He cried. I cried. TMI, but I left out the photos We paid to upgrade the couch fabric to be pet friendly, and I questioned if the Irish cream would last. Clorox wipes, a bar of pure olive oil soap, cold water, a towel, and not a single stain left. The couch has been baptized into the home, and it came out the winner. Also, the delivery process was great! But the couch was super heavy for the guys and they aren't obligated to deliver up more than 2 flights of stairs. Just keep that in mind! Purchased the Joybird Petite Bryant online thinking that it was a sofa that I would want and fit perfect in our space, since I've tried the Bryant at my friend's place and loved it. However, when the piece finally arrived it was more shallow than I liked and really couldn't deal with keeping it. Luckily Joybird has a great exchange policy where there is no additional cost if you exchange for another Joybird sofa. We made the hour trek to SF to check out the showroom so we could be sure we liked it before making the switch and having to go through the hassle again. Richard was working who I had previously had emails with when purchasing my first couch, and although the shop was closed for appointments only he graciously allowed us to come take a look and even help us decide on what would be the best option for us to switch to. He took care of the exchange and made the experience a little less daunting! Overall, the customer service I've received has been great. The only thing that has been awful is the long lead times for getting any model of Joybird Furniture. read more
