The proprietor of this shop was wonderfully kind and very helpful when I needed a minor alteration done quickly for a wedding. He did the small job as quick as I could hope and charged a very reasonable amount. He didn't even seem to charge any rush fee for doing the job same day. I would absolutely come here all the time if I lived in Wakefield. read more

So sorry to learn that this shop has closed permanently. Tough times I'm sure led to the closing. Just wanted owner to know how much he was appreciated and is missed. read more

A most genteel and gracious place. The owner is a true gentleman perfectionist who works so efficiently and seamlessly (pun intended). He's got a great location and instills confidence that he'll do the job perfectly whether it's expert alterations or routine dry cleaning. You can tell just from his meticulous movements to the careful layout of the store. This should be your go-to cleaners/tailor. It's ours. read more

I have been trying to get the pants I lwft in Aoril .There is no say to contact them The phone numbers are disconnected The store has no work hours Help read more

I always bring my business suits here for adjustments, and it's the same man every time I go. The turnaround time is always fast, the pricing seems fair, and the tailoring always comes out great. The location is great, because it's right in dowtown Wakefield and there is usually plenty of street parking. read more

Not only are the rates a great price, but the customer service is even better. The owner will see us driving up and have our pick up ready. Always a pleasant experience! read more

Great service and reasonable price! I've been using Joy Tailor for over 3 years. At first, I liked the clean environment there. The owner is very kind and professional, and he always tries his best to give good service. I usually go there like twice a week, and I'm always satisfied with the quality of his service :) read more

I have always loved this shop. Owner is super friendly and customer service is awesome. Prices are also the best in the area. Superb workmanship. However, I left my dry cleaning before Covid hit and I've not been able to reach the business since I started routinely trying since May 2020. I've actually moved out of the area in July 2020. Would love to get my circa 250$ worth of dress clothes back. Anyone know if this place is open/will reopen? It's now end of Feb 2021.... read more

Recently visited & when I walked in I thought I was in an office. The set up is so nice & not like the "typical" dry cleaners (i.e. smelly, loud, etc.). I was greeted quickly by a very polite gentleman. Upon returning the same! Reasonable for hemming pants. read more

Got a pair of jeans taken up here - equally excellent job!

I had 2 jackets tailored, one a standard blazer and the other a leather jacket. Both results were excellent, reasonably priced , plus the service was courtesy. I received my jackets in a little over a week, even though they looked very busy. I will definitely go back and recommend their tailoring services to friends. read more

I've been using Joy Tailor for my dry cleaning every other week for the past 8 years. The owner is a warm, polite gentleman. He has held the door for me every time. The prices and speed of service are both fair. I usually drop my clothes off on a Saturday, and pick them up the following Saturday. read more

COMPLETELY DISHONEST!! I went to Joy Tailor Shop to get some curtains hemmed. I had 2 sets of curtains, and asked them to shorten them all by 20 inches. The owner of the store wrote out my instructions in his notebook. When I picked the curtains up, I found that one set of curtains had been shortened by about 50 inches instead of 20. The curtains were completely ruined, because now they were too short for the window that I wanted to hang them in.I asked for a refund for the tailoring of the ruined set of curtains, which was $80. The owner refused to give me the full refund, even though he produced the discarded material that was taken off the curtains and we could both see that more than 20 inches was removed. He also refused to show me the notebook that contained my instructions, to verify that he did not follow the instructions and ruin the curtains. He refused to give me the full refund, and finally after a lot of yelling, he gave me $50 cash from his pocket and said that that was all I was getting from him.I could have tried to get him to pay for the cost of the ruined curtains, but decided to just ask for my full refund, and even this he refused to give me. The refund practices here are very dishonest. read more

Way over priced. Said same day service to have work uniform cleaned. Two days later he got it back. Very rude talking on phone in unknown language not giving me service. Had to wait 10 min to pay and get my stuff. Stay away. read more

Came here recently needing a hem in a bit of a hurry. The gentleman (owner, I think), had a smile on his face the whole time while I told him what I needed and asked if he could have it done in 2 days. He was very courteous, and the work was good. read more

I used Joy tailor once back in the spring when I needed a sweater and shirt mended and it was outside my very basic sewing abilities. The job was done on time and looked great and I was charged a reasonable price. Because of this positive experience I brought in a few new things to be mended at the end of the summer. When I came back 3 weeks later, long after it was supposed to be ready, nothing had been worked on. He asked for another week to finish the job and I said okay. I came back 2 weeks later and it was still not done. At that point, he dropped my items in a chair in the front of his workspace and said he would call when it was finished. Another 3 weeks go by with no call so I went in to ask for my items and my money back. The items were still sitting in the chair up front, untouched! I can't figure out why he repeatedly refused to complete the job... He was polite enough when I asked for everything back and didn't fight the refund, which I appreciated and is why I gave him 2 stars. So the bottom line is, Joy Tailor is hit or miss... read more

I have had a pair of jeans and 2 pants hemmed here. All came out great. Only $10 each. I deducted a star because each pair took over a week and his hours aren't the most convenient. If you aren't in a hurry, I highly recommend. read more

This is an awful place. Very unprofessional. They ruined my favorite jacket and did not handle well at all. In fact they where very hostile. The jacket was unwearable, and I felt like I should have been rein burst for my loss (it was a very expensive jacket) When I expressed that they begin yelling at me and made me really nervous. I just left at that point. I would not recommend bring anything here. They don't know what they are doing and do not care about the're customers. read more

WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!! TWO Days before my daughter's wedding I went to pick up my dress and it was hemmed to high. An unbelievable mistake for a Tailor to make, especially when they took the measurements and knew how it was supposed to look. And after the mistake, I didn't even get a hint of a suggestion as to what to do now. Hey, I have an idea genius, how about paying for the dress and suggest I go out and get a new dress and take it back for a quick turnaround!!! No concern on their part, just, sorry Lady for having ruined a very important day of your Life!!! I'll make sure my friends hear about this one! I hope that thing they call KARMA is true! Because guess what !!!! read more
