Boston is my home away from home for the next 30-45 days. My hotel is about 2 miles away from Anton's Cleaners and Wendy's where I go for lunch but really I want to park my bus there and walk across the street to Anton's. When I walked in a handsome tall red haired gentleman greeted me. I handed him my uniform shirts and pants. While he was checking me in, I noticed they offered laundry by the pound. I contemplated the next words that came out of my mouth. I swallowed and let the words roll right out of my mouth. "Do you laundry women underwear?" Yeah I said it! He said yes. I looked over to the young lady in the drive thru who was smiling at me. I announced that I was from Texas and that I needed to do laundry but the motorist here drive aggressive, traffic everywhere and I just wanted to put myself out of my misery in finding a laundromat where I could fit my bus. Also truth be told, I'm working 14 hour days and I could be sleep instead of during laundry. The young man that checked me in sure was smiling at me when I picked up my laundry. Yeah I was smiling right back because I know my panties are sexy and had no shame with allowing them to laundry them. I loved and truly miss when this place was Champions. I have an Antons around the corner in Reading Center and I actually went to Champions because I find Antons prices to be high. As soon as they swapped hands, the quality remained excellent but the prices soared. I used to be able to bring a comforter in to be cleaned for roughly $30 now it's almost $40. I prefer to support small local businesses so I'll have to look around for a new cleaners. read more

Exactly one month ago, I dropped off $300 worth of silk tops for dry cleaning in our office's pickup area that weren't returned. I called Champion Cleaners and they confirmed that they picked up the bag, dry cleaned the tops, charged me for it, and then hung them back in my office's shared closet two days later. At first, we blamed Champion Cleaners for losing them and were very upset. After contacting them, Champion Cleaners took the initiative to call every person in my office who had large orders dropped off that same day. They were able to find the person who accidentally picked them up who found them in her husband's closet between many of his dress shirts. My wife (and my wallet) were overjoyed to have them returned to us. I feel badly for ever doubting Champion Cleaners and now would trust them with my first born. They truly are champions! read more

Great location, offer same day service as long as you drop off early enough. My clothes are always well cleaned/ pressed- they will let you know if a stain didn't come out and even offer to "wet clean" it if you like. Staff is very friendly and professional. My husband has left his cufflinks on his shirts many times and they have always returned them on the next visit. Word of warning though- they are pricey! I really wish they offered a loyalty program- would make me feel a little bit better about all the money I am spending there. read more

This has been my dry cleaner for fifteen years. I live 4 towns away but make the trip here because the staff is always professional and nice. I have card on file so I never need to take a card out to pay. Just grab my clothes and go. Somehow that is a huge convenience to me. Late night pick up in the lockers is awesome too! Knowing things will be done that day if dropped off before 9 is incredible. And if after you pick up the next day! It's the best dry cleaner I've ever been too. The woman in the alteration shop told me that my shirt wasn't nice enough to be tailored, and repeatedly questioned why I wanted to get it done. Why isn't every cleaner drive through? A brilliant concept. Drop off your stuff early in the a.m. and it is usually ready at the end of the day. The service is capable and the owner is generally on site. You don't need a slip just tell them your name. I want to mention they also have a shoe repair service--they send out so it takes several days but it's very convenient especially since cobbler shops are becoming more and more rare. Maybe I just had a few bad experiences but I'm never going to champion cleaners again. I personally don't like that I don't receive a slip when I drop off my clothes. There are times I'm so busy with work that it could be another week until I am able to pick up my items and by that time I have completely forgotten what I dropped off. But on to the quality of work, in the beginning it was fine. I have a process when I'm trying new dry cleaners not to give them my cherished items up front so I can judge the quality of work first. Some time had passed and I hadn't had any issues, so I dropped off a silk blouse I've had forever. It came back with one of the buttons missing on the sleeve, yes a button is replaceable in most cases but when the shirt is 10+ years old it is more difficult. This was small so I moved on. I should not have believed them but they said they clean leathers and my white leather needed to be cleaned. It came back with cuts in the leather. I also had a dress cleaned and found a stain that was not there before I sent it in. So no thank you never again. read more

Best dry cleaners around. We drive nearly 20 minutes to this location because of the quality of work they do, total professionalism by all the staff there and the quick turnaround time they provide. My husband has been coming here for years and turned my entire family onto Champion. They know all their customers so well that by the time you walk in the door they are already grabbing your clothes for pickup - without you even telling them your name! They are also so honest - if they find something in a pocket, they put it inside a little bag and attach it to your order. My husband has left money and credit cards in his pockets and they've always made sure to get it back to him. They have great hours and also offer after hours drop off and pick up! It's worth the ride there because no one comes close to the quality of work they do! read more

This was my first time visiting the tailoring side since posting my last review, and safe to say things haven't gotten better. I brought a dress here to have taken in when my usual place was booked up. This was an unlined dress with non-stretch fabric and simple construction. I tried on the dress and communicated what I would like to have done (shorten the shoulder, take in the bust, shorten the sleeves and hem, slim the sleeves). Except for shortening the sleeves and hem, she told me it nothing could be done. Huh??? And she quoted me $40 for the hem! And it wouldn't even match the original rolled hem finish! She's said this to me before on the last item I brought in, saying the things I wanted couldn't be done or that "it looks fine, it doesn't need it". So I took the dress home with me and with my newly acquired sewing skills, I tailored the damn thing myself! And guess what? My alterations looked great and I got many compliments on it. This woman is lazy and doesn't listen to her customers. How she has lasted here for years I have no idea. I can't believe I wasted my time here. read more

I want to be specific that this review is for the tailors only. The dry cleansing business side is great and I love the service I get. It's consistent, friendly and quick. Never a problem. Now...onto the tailor. Dropped off a jersey to have a patch sewn on. Very simple and quick task. I had affixed it to the shirt exactly where I wanted it. The woman working was helping someone else and was trying to help me instead of finishing with the first customer. Said it would be done later in the day and didn't write anything down which I thought was fine considering I had the patch taped on the jersey where I wanted it. Took my skip and left. Later in the day I went back to pick it up my jersey Andy the patch was in the wrong location. I had to leave it and follow up on Monday when the tailor was back. Went in Monday and showed her again where it should have been and how the tape, that was still on the shirt, was still marking the spot. Ready later in the day. Went in the next day and again the patch was in the wrong spot. After three tries it was finally completed correctly. Very frustrating as the jersey was expensive and the patch irreplaceable. I would not use the tailor again. read more

Wow! This place is absolutely fantastic! I've been going to Champion Cleaners for years and I agree with all the good reviews. Lots of conveniences; covered drive-through, after-hours lockers, same day cleaning, open 7 days a week, and a tailor on site. Cleaning - absolutely the best. Clothes come out perfect every time. Shirts are pressed perfectly. I have mostly expensive "designer" clothes and these guys keep my clothes looking brand new. Seriously, I could not be happier with the quality of their cleaning. And their prices are in line with all the better cleaners. Tailoring - fantastic. I've had several items into the tailor and she's done a perfect job. Tailoring prices are very reasonable. She did have to redo a hem once, but she was happy to do so. Stuff happens. Speaking of stuff happens, I did have one problem with my dry cleaning about two years ago. Not to get into details, but I discussed it with the owner and he immediately fixed the problem. I know that nothing works perfectly every time and in spite of all best efforts mistakes happen. So the key is how the business reacts to fix the problem. Champion Cleaners has me as a customer for life because I know that they stand behind their work and really do care about their customers. I love this place for their drive up service. They come out promptly to pick up or deliver your clothing. One time a delivery truck was in the drive up space, so a staff person came out to the parking lot so we wouldn't have to wait. With two young children, this service is very much appreciated by us! Their hours are very convenient also. The price is no more than Anton's, where I used to go, and the quality of the cleaning is topnotch. With the drive up service and friendly staff, I feel that I am getting much more value for my money. It is a bit of a distance for me coming from Medford, especially considering that I pass several dry cleaners on the way, but it is worthwhile just for the drive up service alone! I used to live in Burlington and used a dry cleaner there that even managed to lose a coat so I couldn't take it on a plane trip. When I moved to Woburn, I gave these guys a chance and they have NOT disappointed since! They are always friendly and efficient. I give them my last name, hand them the item to be drycleaned, and it is ready the next day. The prices are reasonable and even extra services like resewing on buttons or hemming split seams are inexpensive. I just love that it is in and out and without hassle. The covered, drive up window and after hours drop box is great for those off hours or rainy days when you just don't feel like getting out of the car. Also it's a pretty quick detour from I93. The staff is always friendly and professional. However, I have to say it's the little touches that keep me coming back. They replace broken shirt buttons, no charge, part of the service. They fold the sleeves in so they don't get wrinkled and they put a little plastic tab in the collar that helps keep its form. I have been doing business at Champion Cleaners for close to a decade, even when I moved out of their area I still made it a point to travel back to have my dry cleaning done because I have always had a friendly, consistent experience there. They offer same day service which is amazing, they have never lost an item (and I drop clothes off weekly), and if a button is missing or broken they have replaced it at no extra cost. They always try to accommodate if I have any special need and I appreciate their friendliness. I wanted to write this review because I think some of the negative stuff said about them is very unfair. Mistakes can happen and I am sure if you contact them directly about the issue (rather than give them a negative review here) they will do whatever they can to make it right. I am saying this because I am also a small business owner, we rely on the feedback from customers to help make our business better and everything can be reconciled if you just give us a chance to try and do so. Unfair negative reviews directly affect small businesses. I assure you that I do not work for this company, I just find some of these negative reviews ridiculous and I hope others can see through them. So many people are afraid of the personal "confrontation" but they are quick to take it to the internet rather than to the owner directly, give people a chance is my point here. I am not sure how not printing you a dry cleaning slip warrants a 1 star review, especially since you could probably just ask them for one and they will probably give it to you, or you could just remember your stuff like an adult should. If you love this place but they broke your buckle ONE time, ask them to fix it and everyone is happy in the end! Simple stuff. This review is for Champion Tailors... I would give this place ZERO stars if I could! I recently brought a dress here for alterations for a friend's wedding, someone had recommended it to me saying it was reasonably priced and had a quick turnaround. Neither of those things were true. I dropped my dress off weeks before the wedding and the woman was annoyed that I asked her to pick it up the Monday before the wedding, she wanted me to pick it up Friday which was the day we were leaving- we ended up settling on Wednesday which gave her more than two weeks to alter the dress. The dress needed to be hemmed and taken in on the sides since it was a one shoulder and there was a lot of extra fabric. When I went to pick up the dress, she was annoyed when I asked to try it on. When I tried it on there was still a lot of extra fabric on the sides and it was still falling down. Her response was "you know what you can do? Just go to Target and pick up some of that double sided tape and one of the other bridesmaids can tape it down when you're already in the dress." I was confused as to what I was paying her $76 for when she was refusing to do her job and take the dress in, so I asked her if she could sew it and she said she would "throw a couple stitches into it but didn't have time to do much more." She had two weeks to take this dress in! Needless to say, those two stitches didn't hold and I was pulling the dress up all night to avoid my bra showing. On top of that, as I was trying on my dress I noticed one of the other bridesmaids' dress was hanging up in two pieces. I told the woman that my friend was under the impression that her dress was also going to be ready that day and if that wasn't the case she needed to call her. She had told my friend that she could pick her dress up that day but failed to mention that she needed to come in for an additional fitting before she would sew the dress up. Instead of calling her, she asked me to call and tell her which was so unprofessional. Last but not least, after paying $76 for alterations, my dress wasn't even steamed and was full of wrinkles! I will NEVER be getting alterations done here again. read more
