I usually go to Diamond Alterations, but decided to try this business while I was at Firewheel shopping today (3/2). Needed a dress hemmed about 1 inch, because it was too long, and I need it in five days, by close of business Friday. For context, provided pictures of hem and dress material tag. The male attendant 'studied' the hem (inner and outer shell) for about three minutes and then gave me an absolutely RIDICULOUS quote of $120!! I guess I'll be going to Diamond Tailor tomorrow or taking out my own sewing machine so I can get the job done in about 15-20 min (5-10 min because I'm rusty ). That is absolutely ridiculous! I'd even pay $50-$60 understanding this is a business, knowing full well the true cost is about $10, but $120?! Absolutely not. My family won't be going back and we do not recommend.

Prior to the appointment, I sent an email letting them know I hadn't received my dress yet but would like to use them for dress alternations. They proceeded with asking me when I would be the earliest I can come in. So they booked me in the very next week. I was super excited and was kinda shocked I didn't need to have my dress on hand. I should've taken that as a red flag. April 13th @ 10am I went to the shop and was greeted by a gentleman. He already seemed to be annoyed when he saw me right off the bat. He asked me about my appointment and then, with a blank expression, said, "You can put the dress on now." He didn't offer a private room or to maybe go anywhere other than the foyer by the front door. Keep in mind I've never been to this place, and I said "I don't have the dress on hand," and he replied, throwing his hands in the air, saying, "Well, then what are we gonna do?!" At this moment, I'm trying not to cry because I never experienced this before, and not to mention I'm a first-time bride, so I don't know everything. I proceeded to tell him via email they never specify if I needed the dress or not. That's when he's tone-lighted and was less harsh, and he then told me they go though a third party for emails they receive. The lady who I spoke to very briefly as I was leaving seem more approachable than the gentleman, so I appreciate that, BUT I left that shopping in tears and I felt so small. During this time it's supposed to be exciting for a first-time bride but today was NOT the case. So I hope next time you can extend a little bit of patience, understanding, and compassion to the next bride. Also maybe considering updating your third-party email so others don't get confused and then later on belittled because they didn't know any better.

For the level of cost, I expected excellent results, but unfortunately that was not the case. It took multiple return visit to get the alterations right. Each time there were still issues with fit which made the whole process stressful and time consuming-consuming. Even worse, one of the bridesmaids in our group had such a poor result that she ended up going to a completely different tailor to fix the mistakes. That alone says a lot of the level of workmanship. Overall between the high prices, repeated visits, and inconsistent results, this was a disappointing experience and do not recommend.

I was very understanding as the material is very delicate. At my second fitting they mentioned that they will charge me for the damage done to the dress and that it was my fault and the dress was brought in like that.Not to mention I paid $400 to get a little bit of material taken in the chest area, to be honest after the second fitting couldn't even tell the difference between my first and second appointment and if anything was done. You're on your own trying to figure out what alterations your dress needs, expected a lot more from a "professional" place that deals with wedding dresses.
