Hot take but western Mass is maybe the best area in the northeast for Poké outside of the cities. I've come to Joy Bowl before and they consistently serve delicious bowls. They must tell their employees to be generous with ingredients cuz they always are.... same with the sauces. No photo cuz I scarfed it down! read more

Good place for lunch. You create your own fun bowl with interesting fresh ingredients. I had the rice bowl with shrimp and crab meat. Then I added a lot of vegetables. Overall, I felt I got a healthy lunch, albeit on the expensive side. read more

MAJOR SAFETY & SAFETY CONCERN - ROCK IN FOOD & HARASSMENT I am writing this to warn others about a dangerous and incredibly disturbing experience at Joy Bowl Poke. While eating my bowl, I bit down on a small white/green rock that was hidden in the food. When I called the restaurant to request a refund and speak to a manager, I was met with extreme hostility by the employee who prepared the meal (identified as Alex/Alexis). She became immediately argumentative and refused to provide any management contact information. Because she refused to resolve the issue over the phone, my partner and I drove back to the restaurant with our children. Upon arrival, the situation escalated from unprofessional to threatening. The employee began: * Playing loud, inappropriate music from Cardi-B with lyrics referencing violence. * Pacing, cursing, and clapping loudly next to us to intimidate us. * Staring us down in a hostile manner in front of our children. We have recorded video/audio of this behavior and photographs of the rock found in the meal. After looking at other Google reviews, it is clear this specific employee has a history of complaints. Given her aggressive behavior and the foreign object in our food, we have serious concerns about food tampering. Avoid this establishment at all costs. The lack of safety standards and the level of staff hostility is completely unacceptable. We expect ownership to address this dangerous behavior immediately. read more

Having just come back from a trip to Hawaii, I was craving a poke bowl like crazy. Enter Joy Bowl! They have so many fresh ingredients, flavorful sauces, and they REALLY pack everything they can into one little bowl! I was staying in the area for work and came back THREE times in one week I loved it so much. Great service, fun atmosphere, and awesome food. I can't wait to come back (again!). read more

I'm a big fan of Joy Bowl. Love their poke bowls. I usually go to the one in Hadley, which is always great. Today I visited West Springfield. The two employees were sitting and conversing and the young woman seemed irritated that I came in to the store. The screen that lists the usual combinations offered was dark, so I was forced to pick a protein and 4 toppings(never experienced a limit there before). I got my bowl and when I asked if I could have a cup for some water, she said "we have no cups", at which point I said I'd just eat in the car since I had a thermos there. She seemed annoyed that I asked for a bowl cover. I noted that their drink machine was completely out of order. Made me think they aren't serious about being in business. The poke was fine, but I will never go back to that store! I wish I hadn't left a tip. read more

Fresh fish, hot rice, crunchy vegetables. Poke bowls are such a great combination of colors and textures, and this location has always served me well. I appreciate the pay at the counter style because there is no pressure to eat and leave quickly. Tables have always been clean and (so long as no one's yelling inside), it's an excellent place to sit and enjoy at your leisure. read more

We just ordered this afternoon and our order was beyond light. I had requested 2 proteins of salmon and I barely had 1 order, not to mention the other items that were missing. My husband's order was even worse; he had requested the 2 proteins + an extra protein. There was a few pieces of chicken and about a tablespoon of beef. Once again, they failed to even have 1 complete protein order, let alone 3. I called the store and the woman who answered was very unpleasant and she ended up hanging up on me; but not before told me to contact DoorDash for a refund. I will never order from this location again and will be ordering from the Springfield location where they give respectable portions. I contacted DoorDash and they were very understanding and refunded most of the amount (less tip) and even gave us an additional $5.00 as a sign of good faith. read more

With the nearly overwhelming selection of toppings & proteins, there's gotta be like idk a bajilloon melodies? give or take a handful I'd say. Not an algorithm guy but should check out - I think. Inaugural Order: White rice was just automatic obviously. Followed up with just a grand slam of a decision going with not only Sriracha aioli, but drizzled in unagi sauce. Are you kidding me? Meh... 2 Chiriashi bowls and 2 drinks were over $40.00. The quality was just okay and the "sandwich artist" (borrowed from Subway as Joy Bowl is equivalent) was a kid who was lost about anything sushi! He also was unable to follow simple instructions like: "please I do not want a lid on my bowl because we're eating it now." Then proceeded to smash the lid on the bowl... I've paid far less in far better sushi bars with much better product! read more

Can you go lower than 1? If I could, I would. I got seriously ill from this food from the West Springfield Ma site. It sure felt like food poisoning, and I am still recovering 6 days later. I feel grateful to BE recovering. I think it could have gone the other way. When I called the staff person said that they have a sign that "raw/other seafood affects people all different ways". Mine was cooked and I have eaten seafood for over 60 years. So that holds no water. Perhaps Joy Bowl sees this sign as a 'get-out-of-jail-free-card' for food borne illness. To the staff member's credit, she said she would get rid of the crabmeat that I am 99% sure was the culprit. I will never got to ANY Joy Bowl again, and suggest everyone else use extreme caution. read more

Worst experience ever. Ordered from Grub Hub and my order was completely wrong. Called and spoke to some young girl who couldn't be bothered to help me. Her end answer was "what do you want me to do about it?" Told me to call grub hub and hung up on me. I called back and asked for her manager. She muttered "ugh, just call grub hub" and hung up again. Ok so we're obsessed. I'm PUMPED that this place opened. I hated having to drive to Florence or 16 acres to get poke. Online ordering is super easy for quick pick up. Every time I just put in the notes all the vegetables I want since you can only choose four online and they accommodate me. Food is tasty, definitely like a chipotle for poke. Avocado is also extra by $1. No biggie I'm thrilled to have another fast casual option in the area! They also have punch cards and every 9 bowls your tenth is free! I really can't think of much to write for Joy Bowl. The name and any descriptions/pictures of menu items should sell themselves. It's delicious, and it's healthier than many other options in the surrounding area. Just make sure to add more than chicken, beef and tasty sauce to your bowl. I ordered a bowl for delivery today, was my first time ordering. Everything looked great until I noticed a spider moving in my bowl. it was in the dressing moving all around. I called and explained the situation and the person could have cared less. Didn't apologize and said they couldn't refund me I would have to call door dash. The fact that they weren't even apologetic or making an attempt to make it right, plus the spider in my bowl... never again!!! read more

My SO and I REALLY REALLY REALLY had loved this place. I don't know what happened; but, the last 3 orders were not up to par.The first of bad orders started with a way smaller portion than usual. They also stopped offering sushi rice. The mango pieces were brown the last 2 times we ordered. Today the tuna was not so fresh tasting. I hope they improve so it can be our go to place again; but for now we're giving this place a break. read more

Wow!!! I was craving poke and I hadn't had any since I last visited West Hartford. Ended up trying out Joy Bowl of West Springfield and it was amazing! I was a little confused by the layout of the restaurant, but it still seems inviting and warm. There was absolutely nothing negative about this place it just didn't have a flow to it if that makes sense. There was a lower dining area and there were some wall between the bar and part of the dining room, but the wall had windows it almost felt like an addition put in later but it wasn't. I don't know I'm not a restaurant designer. The most important part is that the atmosphere was great. The food was better and the staff was awesome. I will be coming back in soon and probably every time I come into town, which I hope is more often just so I can eat here again

I did feel that the presentation could have been a little cleaner and a little more rice but the dish still held our tastebuds satisfied. We are both gluten free which can be difficult . We ordered their price fix menu which included salad, main dish and desert. We decided that was a good choice. The salad came with a lot of unsavory dead end pieces in it which immediately affects the taste and look of the salad. I would give that a very poor presentation with just a small amount of taste. The deserts that came with it were all gluten deserts. That required us to order an extra dish, the bananas foster which should be good. The presentation was not good at all. The bananas were not caramelized which is part of this signature dish and the bananas were mushy and tasteless. It came topped with ice cream. All in all a disappointing addition we had to pay for. The service was very good and I did tell the waiter of our disappointment with the bananas foster and he said " I am sorry" , I guess I should have asked for the manager but the waiter did suggest to take home the two deserts that we were owed. My husband would probably enjoy them. The cheese cake was very disappointing. It was dull, heavy and tasteless, I took a taste of the cheese parts. The apple strudel passable. They can do better. I know they have a large volume clientele but taste and presentation are key to returning customers at least it is to this customer and her friend. It will be awhile until we venture there again. Maybe they will take this review seriously and make some changes. I would suggest adding a gluten free desert offering to the price fix desert menu like flourless chocolate cake or chocolate mousse something if you want to attract a larger more versatile clientele. The redfish novelle is a very nice dish that I do recommend.
