We came here for Father's Day. It was a real treat. The place is located on the Casino property behind the RV park. It's located on the golf course. It's a gorgeous property. Southwest Avocado toast had the perfect amount of citrus and the nuttiness of the multigrain bread was a nice touch. We have been there three or four times and it is always good. Never been here before. First time today for a birthday brunch. I, along with many others I'm sure, got lost getting there. The roundabout threw it all off but eventually I found it behind the casino. There is a parking lot right outside the front, but if it gets full, there is a sign for overflow parking in the garage across the street. Got lucky and found a spot near the back. Beautiful entry, and the restaurant itself is pretty. Nice decor and fancy looking all around. There's a back room near the bathrooms behind the etched glass doors for private functions which is where we were at today. Curtis was our server and he was amazing! Super friendly and very accommodating. I wanted everything on their menu, and he quickly helped me decide what to get. When the food came, I was drooling over all of it. The benedicts looked so tasty, but I have recently been trying to stay away from carbs so I opted for the braised short ribs. OMG. Let me just say, that baby was cooked to absolute perfection! I used my knife to slice off a piece of the meat, but I didn't need it because it basically pulled away with just my fork. Needless to say, it melted in my mouth and tasted heavenly! You probably don't even need teeth to eat it, lol, you could do with just your gums!! I shared the smoked salmon appetizer with some friends and that was very tasty as well. Curtis brought out a hot tea set up for me and my friend, and let us choose from a box of 6 different tea bags. My friend's baby dropped a glass on the floor and it cracked to pieces. Curtis so graciously came over with a broom and dustpan and cleaned it up no problem. He was not the least bit annoyed and was very nice about it. Pricing is pretty average for a brunch spot. The view out on the golf course is amazing! We took a few pictures outside before heading out. Great place for a friends/family gathering, special occasion or romantic date. It was not crowded and we were seated right away. We ordered and were so very disappointed in what was served. I ordered a panini sandwich, which is my go to lunch item. When it was served the waitress said "you're lucky this is our last one". It was noon so poor planning on managers plate. They should have tossed it and not served it to anyone. It was a mess and looked like someone had sampled it and decided to pass on it. The bread was crumbled and the cheese was runny all under the sandwich. Prices are very reasonably priced, and the snacks we had were very good. Happy hour beer and wine is $5, another good deal. Considering the high end feel of the place, it just didn't feel like high end service and hospitality. When we arrived the place was empty except for one table of golfers. The hostess said we could take our pick for a table. I went to a corner table with a nice view. Nope, hostess said it didn't have place settings and asked that we sit at a nearby table in the center. I mean how hard is it to set up a table? I asked for a glass of Cabernet from the happy hour menu. Nope, Cabernet is not a part of happy hour. We visit The Journey a few times a year, always pleased, yesterday was no exception, besides the beautiful views, the food is so much better then a few years ago. Best Eggs Benedict I've had. What really pleased us yesterday was their safety measures, my husband and I are a tad older, so more careful, had our temp taken at the door , but more so they had disposable masks on the table , if needed, sanitizer, distancing between tables, inside and out. I proceeded to the hostess stand and waited an additional ten minutes to pay for my coffee and leave without eating. "Sorry" doesn't begin to compensate me for the frustration and angst of a three year old who waited to eat; for over an hour, and received nothing. Even my friend constantly tried to order a drink for me, she still failed to bring it.Food was still good but service was really poor. She never asked if we needed anything else or replenished our waters or if we like to order an another drink.? Nothing.. After bringing the food she didn't stop by again to ask how we were doing. Meanwhile I was desperately looking for her to ask for some more water.
