I've shopped here for years but until now have not submitted a review. I was reminded recently how…read moremuch I like this place. I have difficulty finding shoes that truly fit. Far too often I settled for less than ideal (too narrow, poor arch support, etc.) and suffered the consequences with aching feet, blisters and other irritations. Schuler employs people that actually understand how to measure ones feet and then properly size footwear. As a result I always walk out with shoes or boots that feel great, need no break-in period and look great. They offer a vast selection of quality brands and almost always have what I'm looking for and a perfect fit in stock. I usually wait for a sale and then stock up by buying multiple pairs of footwear. I've also joined their rewards program. Thus, pricing, particularly given the excellent service and quality selection becomes a relative bargain. This store can get busy but never to the point where I felt that I was unacknowledged or conversely felt rushed into making a purchase decision. From the first person in customer service, the wonderful manager, other customer service personnel to Jacob and Sean that came down from your fishing department. Your wonderful staff turned this difficult and emotional time into one of the most wonderful experiences that I have had since my son's passing. For sure feel like it's catered to the older crowd. We parked at Von Maur to cut through to the mall. A few things did catch my eye while passing so we ended up looking around a bit. I did find an item to purchase and walked a bit to find a pay station. When I walked up a customer and the cashier were deep into conversation about vacation and even with me waiting they carried on for 5 or so minutes after the fact. I ended up sitting in the chairs nearby to wait. I can say when they finally wrapped their conversation the cashier wasn't as friendly which made me think maybe I shouldn't purchase from them. There was no "thank you for your patience or waiting", "did you find everything okay" or anything. Overall the store is pretty neat and organized. Not a ton of staff around but also never seen a lot of people shopping either. Items seem to be good quality.

I had some gifts I needed to return, and I had the original receipt. I asked at the counter very clearly if this return could please be given to me as store credit and said that I only wanted to proceed if I could be guaranteed it would NOT go back to the original card which would create privacy concerns for me. She said sure. She returned the items and I left the store. I looked at the receipt and she put the value right back into the original card creating a very troubling series of events for me over the next few months I tried to reach out to Kohls through several channels and was completely ignored for months. Like, not even a generic response. Finally I reached someone who demanded the original receipt which I obviously don't have anymore because I had to give it back to the gift giver since Kohl's made an unauthorized transaction on their card and I had to return the receipt to them. Crazy that they would have expected me to have possession of it months later (it took months before anyone ever responded to me). I told them I don't have possession of the receipt anymore and that I had to give it back to the owner, and they never bothered to investigate any further. They never asked for a transaction name, date, or time. They have since stopped talking to me again. Go next door to Target. You deserve better than to feed your money to a business who will ghost you when they drop the ball.
