    Breakfast Burger $11 + Bacon $2 IG: @fiveftfoodie

YUM! I won an Instagram contest for a free sandwich, so my parents and I made the trip to the Kailua Town Farmers Market to redeem it. The workers were so outgoing and genuinely seemed like they loved doing what they do, and treated all the customers like friends. I got the Breakfast Burger ($11) which is their Lava Rock Brioche Bun, a local grassfed beef patty from Forage Hawaii (also has a stall at the farmer's market!), havarti cheese, pickles, red chili aioli, maple bacon jam, and a local egg sunnyside up. I also added bacon to mine ($2). We also got the Mango Ginger Beer $6, which was super duper refreshing, and had a sharp (but not harsh!) ginger taste. The brioche bun was SO delicious. 40% of my judgement of a good burger comes from the bun, and this passed my test. It was a soft, buttery brioche with herbs brushed on (or baked on?) which gave it a great flavor. The beef patty was delish and not dry like other burgers, the maple onion jam was insanely delicious (a little on the sweet side, from the maple and the sugars from the onion), and everything paired so well with each other. I will say that the burger is a little on the smaller side, but I totally get it, since they source so many of their ingredients locally and it's one heck of a good burger. Definitely gonna be back next time to try their M&J sandwich! they also have secret menu items that only people that follow their IG (@journey.hfc) know about!

Breakfast burger review Ordered this one that farmers market at kaakaako. Very flavorful and lots going on but it works well together. Was kind of suspect of what that egg would do but it definitely added a good creamy flavor. The bad The bun both top and bottom was super soggy. The bottom bun pretty much disappeared because it was so wet. Wish the bun held up a little better. Overall a good burger to try. But if you are craving a burger in the area, go to chubbies right down the street.

This is a locally owned, family-run "mom & pop" gem that has been rooted in the Kailua community since the 80s, and you can really feel that aloha spirit the moment you walk in. It is my absolute go-to spot whenever I have friends or family visiting. The Food: The menu is packed with authentic Hawaii flavors. My personal favorite is the **Kalua Pig Eggs Benedict**. It is consistently perfect. They also have incredible specials; I once had a **Kalbi Loco Moco** that was absolutely heavenly. Whether you're going for their famous guava chiffon pancakes or their housemade corned beef hash, you really can't go wrong. The Service: Despite being a busy staple, the service is always top-notch. The staff is attentive, kind, and incredibly helpful. They have a great way of anticipating what you need before you even have to ask, which makes the whole dining experience feel seamless and welcoming. Tips for Visitors: * **Plan Ahead:** This place is a favorite for locals and tourists alike, so it can get busy very quickly, especially on weekends! * **Hours:** Keep in mind they specialize in breakfast and lunch. * **Atmosphere:** It's casual and family-friendly. If you want a real taste of local comfort food served with love, this is the place. Mahalo to the Nam family for keeping the quality so high for all these years!

The restaurant itself felt pretty dated with poor ventilation and old carpeting. There were also flies everywhere constantly getting on the food, which was super annoying. The spam meal was decent, but honestly nothing you couldn't make at home in a few minutes. I also ordered the catch of the day, but it tasted more like the catch of the week. Fish was tough, lacked flavor, and the rice was caked up. The one standout was the guava pancake, which was extremely good and probably the best thing we ordered. Overall though, probably wouldn't come back again anytime soon.

The BLTA is a favorite-BLT with Avocado, Big Boy Sammie, and breakfast burrito were very tasty today. The Belgian waffles are cakier than some places. So you know I was surprised to see a beautifully painted building of a surfer girl, octopus tentacles and cute classic VW bus and had to see what was there and it's located right down the street from the Aloha Home Market which is the reason I was in Kailua and after a bit of browsing I got hungry and knew I had to see what Lilikoi Kitchen had to offer. Slightly confused as it shares a small space with a tattoo parlor though walking in the do make the most of the space as there's a service area where there's two ladies doing it all and immediately informed me that it will take approximately 25 minutes for any orders which is great to know upfront. Menu is quite impressive for this cute cafe and though there are many items that caught my cravings it has to have Lilikoi...right!? Monte Cristo is ham, provolone cheese with Lilikoi jam grilled between Japanese style white bread and Lilikoi Iced Tea is the perfect pairing on this Sunday afternoon and gosh what a treat! The cheese pull was insane and the grill was done with perfect marks as you can see it wasn't rushed and grilled perfectly and I loved that it came with some greens and of course Lilikoi dressing...yum! There are some high bar type seating inside but decided that the outside was much more comfy and really enjoyed it all the iced tea was perfectly balance with Lilikoi, the wait can be avoided with a phone order but I rarely plan that early and had no idea it even existed but will be back for the other items. Thank you!

I'm a business owner and to me customer service matters more than anything, even when the experience isn't perfect. Kono's stepped up. I would share a photo but it's currently passing through my digestive system and not feeling very photogenic at the moment. Well I decided to do an early morning drive from town to Kailua to see how many I could get. I lucked out with getting 6 egg bagels! I am also a fan of everything bagels and decided to get an awe zhuga zhuga bagel sandwich and a bagel with the mesugah schmear. Then an egg bagel with bacon, egg and cheese. I was surprised at how dense and burnt the everything bagel was compared to the soft fluffy egg bagel. I am glad we didn't get too many of those everything bagels because the burnt edges really threw off the rest of the sandwiches and weren't as enjoyable to eat. The inside is spacious but not so many seats. The parking lot has very narrow stalls and is narrow for navigating with a car coming the opposite way. Not my personal fave, but my other half loved it. Overall, the bagels are nice and chewy, not too hard. And the schmears are very tasty/complimentary as well. I can see why they have been voted the best bagels in Hawaii. Keep on doing what you're doing and I'm excited to come back to try the next seasonal flavor!
