Although the order window is closed, if anyone is browsing the menu, you hear the window slide open and a sweet voice asking, do you have any questions or how can I help you? They have a good amount of sandwiches to select from. Great healthy options as we would expect from Kailua town. And the sandwiches and drinks are reasonably priced. The service is quick but there could be a bit of a wait time during the lunch hour. With so many restaurants in the plaza and another sandwich shop a few doors down, there's quite a bit of patrons sitting outside of Mala Market enjoying their meals from this stand. My sister and I shared the turkey pesto sandwich which was really good and filling. I also got a cup of the gumbo that I enjoyed. And we quenched our thirst with a cold brew for me and a plantation iced tea for my sis. We really enjoyed our meal and appreciate the hospitality of the staff members at Mala Market. And yes, I'll be returning with visiting family members.

You never disappoint. You leave me happy, satisfied, and wondering why I don't visit you more often. My friends love you. My family loves you. Life has been good. But... I got curious. As you know, Mike recently moved into town. Everyone kept talking about him. They said I had to give him a chance. Against my better judgment, I caved. Yesterday... I cheated. I walked through his doors, placed my order, and waited. Deep down, I knew it was wrong. Every bite was bland. Every chew was seasoned with regret. The only thing I brought home was the lingering taste of guilt and the realization that I had made a terrible mistake. I don't know what I was looking for when you already give me everything I need. Please know it meant nothing. It was a moment of weakness. You were right here all along, and I foolishly took you for granted. If you'll have me back, I promise to be loyal from this day forward. Forgive me, Timmy. P.S. Mike... it's not me, it's you.

Sandwiches, burgers, poke, bowls of various types, coffee, all kinds of bevs. Anything that you could desire to keep you sustained during a day of sun burns and big waves. I can't recall the names of the bowls that we got, but they were exactly what we were looking for. Incredibly generous portions at reasonable prices, and the highest quality of ingredients. I'm pretty sure they gave me an entire fish, and I ate the whole thing. The garlic shrimp that fantastic, and smothered in that buttery-garlic goodness. The star of the show were the accompaniments that brought the whole bowls together. The ube was flavorful and added a great texture. The kimchi was a nice add too, giving these dishes a bite to balance things out. And the sauces were nice, but not overpowering. I'm pretty sure there are a few KP markets around, and you should stop here before whatever adventure awaits for you in Hawaii. I even bought a shirt because this place was so dope.

The ordering counter and cashier is right as you enter along with thr pastry counter. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. Inside is airconditioned with around maybe 10 tables and chairs some seat 2 others eat 4 and they also have outside patio seating back and front. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. Sandwiches.. pizza and other stuff oh and coffee. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. The staff gave you an impression where they really valued their customers with greetings with a smile and happy goodbyes. As always a great experience with a great casual setting..fair pricing (nothing is considered "cheap" nowdays) ..good food and friendly staff.

I usually order the chicken pesto sandwich, which is always a great choice, but today I decided to branch out and try the Beach Burger and the Margherita Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious and definitely worth ordering again. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It has a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes you feel like you're dining at a beachfront café, even if you're not right on the sand. I had a classic breakfast sandwich which consisted of their own baked bread, eggs, cheese, tomatoes, and bacon with their garlic herb butter. It's cooked panini style or looks more like a fancy grilled cheese sandwich. It was very good. I usually have tomatoes with a lunch sandwich so having tomatoes in a breakfast sandwich was different. But, the combination of all the ingredients was delicious. The tomatoes were firm and not soggy, the bacon was just right crispy, and the cheese melted nicely onto the eggs. Despite the fact that it's a considerably trek for city-dwellers, factoring either traffic or bus schedules into the equation, or both if you're particularly unlucky, it's a journey always worth taking. Hit Hanauma Bay along the way and make it a day trip; the only way to top those dazzling sights is to follow them with a stellar meal. Boasting a menu composed of locally-sourced produce and entirely vegan options, you'll want to take a number of friends for the best experience. Heck, get out there and make some new friends! Join one of the long communal picnic tables out back and introduce yourself; there are no friendlier folks on earth than those living in paradise, as far as I've seen. That said, if there was only one dish to order, it would have to be the Oh WOW Laulau. Wow, indeed! No where else on earth have I found vegan laulau, let alone such a stellar rendition. Traditionally consisting of fatty pork and/or fish steamed in taro leaves, this version eschews the meat in favor of hearty root vegetables, adding creamy coconut into the mix for richness. Not to be overlooked is the Tofu Poke provided on the side, claiming to be spicy but really bearing just enough warmth to taste perfectly balanced. This was easily my personal favorite from the small sampling of dishes provided, but it's a close call when all the options are so good. Another front runner is the BBQ Portobello Sandwich. Mushrooms marinated in a bright, smoky barbecue sauce practically sing between two whole wheat buns. Coconut slaw tops off the assemblage with just the right amount of subtle sweetness to contrast the deeply savory flavors within. Simpler but no less spectacular dishes include the Roasted Veg Platter and Roasted Veg Avocado Sandwich. The way that the vegetables are treated with respect, from the moment they're harvested from nearby farms to the care taken when they reach the kitchen is evident with every bite. Cooked with care and proffered generously with each serving, even the basics make the trek out here worthwhile. I'm still trying to recreate that impossibly umami gravy offered on the side. It's one of those things that are so astoundingly, inconceivably delicious, it's impossible to deconstruct. Each entree promises an ideal amount of food; satisfying diners without over-stuffing them. That said, you'll still want to make room for dessert, especially when you see the towering bowls full of Outta This Swirled Soft Serve. Cool, naturally sweet spirals of banana-based soft serve are dressed to the nines with cacao sauce that hardens much like magic shell, granola and coconut flakes tumbling down the mountainous terrain, and fresh fruits that vary based on local availability- Expect papaya always to be in ample supply, based on the thriving papaya trees on premise. Each order is abundant enough to be a considered a full meal in and of itself.
