Food was good and service was quick and friendly. The space is a little small, but it wasn't busy so that wasn't much of an issue for us. We did notice a lot of people order take out which is probably the smarter way to go. Forgot to take pictures of the food. We ordered the samosa chaat, palak shrimp, chicken biryani and garlic naan. My favorite was the samosa chaat hands down. The chicken biryani was spicy even though we ordered mild, so keep that in mind when choosing your spice level. Everything was good! read more

I've been wanting to try their food for years, and I am so glad that they're in Kailua now. This is the best of both worlds, in that there's ample parking and one of the only Indian cuisines on this side of the island. You know the food is going to be good, when you walk in, and their worker is lying down on a chair by the register. There are a few seats inside and a few outside, very tiny space for dine-in, thus we opted for take-out. By the time we put our order in, 2 other parties dined in. It was getting crowded in the shop, thus I waited directly outside for my food to be ready. The worker spotted me and walked outside to bring the food to me and thanked me for stopping by. The food was packaged nicely. The garlic naan was delicious, and a healthy serving too. Paired perfectly with the butter chicken, that also came with a healthy portion of rice. Not too spicy for my palate. The samosas were nice and crisp on the corners and a little spicy for me on the filling. Though, the sauces that it came with cooled that spice down and complimented that dish well. So satisfied with the flavors and price point for what they provide. Kailua Shopping Center is home to the New Kamana Kitchen 3 - the OG establishment is in Downtown; 2 is in Kapahulu. I walked in and requested their Sweet Potato ( purple Okinawan sweet potato ) Masala for takeaway. Got it mild. Given a 15 minute wait time. After a 20 minute wait - I got a very satisfying meal. Sweet and creamy like a masala is expected to be...when it is on the mild spice level. Sweet potato was also creamy and sweet. I've eaten at their other two locations and this is just a small eatery with about four tables inside and a couple outside. Open from 1030a to 200p, daily for lunch; 400p till 900p in the eve for dinner service. Located in the old Himalayan Kitchen unit near Tokyo Central...they've been open for about 3 months. read more

Small little Indian cuisine spot in a strip mall. Outside Table was so tiny, couldn't our full order do used a chair. It's sized for two having a single dish. So keep that in mind. There are only three tables inside, two slightly larger and a tiny one Take out is a better choice but we wanted to est there. We ordered chicken korma, butter chicken, butter naan, sweet lassi and mango lassi. Basmati rice comes with the entrees. Include 2 glasses of water and two dinner plates. So the naan and the rice had to go on a chair. There are only two chairs so we had to scramble to find a spare. Overall, the food is good. We enjoyed the butter chicken which was sweet, the chicken korma was ok, loved the naan, was puffy and slightly crisp. Fluffy basmati rice. The lassi's were delicious, both flavors. It was a wonderful lunch. Prices were reasonable , service was lovely. and we'll be back. Weird encounter which was quite Inappropriate. We were solicited by two young Mormon girls right in the middle of our meal. They just wouldn't leave, at least 10 minutes of random nothing. Kids need to learn manners. Never had eaten Indian food and couldn't decide what to get from a good variety of options. Plus, it was my wife's idea to try it. She ordered the butter chicken (mild), along with vegetable rice also mild. The sweetness and spices came together very nicely especially with their rice. I had a shrimp curry(spicy), which was too hot but enough heat without calling the fire department. I was very impressed with the balanced flavors and spices. I actually wonder if they have an even hotter level above spicy. I will definitely go back and try some other dishes. read more

Everything was so good!! The butter chicken and naan though!! Easily the best I've had on island! The garlic naan was crispy and fresh and combined with the butter chicken sauce was phenomenal. The vegetable salad we got was not the freshest so would not get again. The cucumbers had tough skin and we had to spit out some seeds. We also got the daal soup, it wasn't the most flavorful but was hearty. Would def come again for the other curries. read more

Oh my! My favorite Indian restaurant made its way to Kailua (thank goodness). I would crave new Kamana kitchen all the time but the drive, parking & wait time was such a headache at times but now there's no need to worry this new location is VERY small -- with two 4 top tables inside and two 2 top tables outside. But I walked in and placed a to go order and it was ready within 10 minutes. The mango lassi was so so yummy and creamy -- it barely made the 5 minute drive home. Everything I got was 10/10 delicious. I got the chicken tikka masala (spicy) and it actually had a very good kick. I also ordered the vegetable samosas and the garlic cheese naan. We were so happy when this place opened. It's a small charming spot and most of the orders when we went were to go. A very long line of to go orders. But the team worked it efficiently and with a smile. The food was outstanding and such generous portions of chicken in the tikka. The sauces were so flavorful. Great location. Location is where the old Himalayan Kitchen used to be in Kailua Shopping Center. Food is tasty. Had both the Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. We asked for minimal spice. Still had a little kick, but it wasn't bad. Bold, rich flavors. Aromatic. Service was fast as we ordered takeout when they had just opened for the evening. There is isn't a lot of places to sit, so you will definitely be ordering takeout. I just feel the portion size was a little small compared to the price. Chicken cubes were a little thick. And the rice it came with was ok. Prefer the saffron rice we get from other spots. However, the kicker is that the leftovers tasted really good the next day. Food kept overnight and both entrees were delicious the next day. That alone improves this by a half-star! read more

I've found it difficult to find good Indian food in Kailua so feel blessed that New Kamana Kitchen 3 has arrived. The shrimp tikka masala is crave-worthy. My only gripe is that they don't list the mint chutney in their Postmates menu so you can get it only if you show up at their small brick and mortar spot (it's so small it's a stretch to call it a restaurant). read more

I never post, but we are huge Indian food fans and usually have to trek over the Pali when we're craving it. We were on our way to the bookstore when we caught the smell of Indian food... and our lunch plans instantly changed. Turns out it's completely new, new owners, new menu, new everything. We ordered the Lamb Vindaloo and Chicken Korma with butter and garlic naan, and we were absolutely delighted with both dishes. So flavorful and perfectly done. We were even greeted with a bow by a very kind gentleman (possibly the owner), who took the time to explain the food. You could tell he was genuinely proud of what they're serving, and rightfully so. So excited to have amazing Indian food in Kailua! Called in the order and it was ready for pickup in about 15 minutes. We got chicken tikka masala, samosa chat, and lamb kadhai (all at medium spice) and garlic naan - everything was crazy good. Medium heat was perfect. Flavors were on point. Terrible pickup experience. Checked in for a pickup order and the waitress said it wasn't ready yet and to wait a few minutes. After 45 minutes they told me they had issues and can't fill the order. Several other people waiting for orders also had the same terrible issue. Be careful ordering here they don't seem yet ready to handle customer orders timely. read more

The food was pretty good but the takeout containers are mostly plastic so they impart microplastics and plastic chemicals into your meal plus the containers are not recyclable and do not biodegrade. They do have some cardboard containers so I recommend asking for them. Would love to see more tables in the dining area to encourage dining in which would be the most environmentally friendly option. read more
