Golden Pho is a treasure. This owner-operated restaurant makes you want to come back for more. That's not great for me since I'm a townie and Golden Pho is located in Kaneohe. But if I'm on the Windward side, this is my go-to, all the time. They have one of the most extensive menus I've seen in a Vietnamese joint--everything from bahn mi, to udon noodles, to curries, to pho, to noodle soups, to appetizers, to à la carte entrees, to desserts. There is something for everyone and it gives me reason to keep coming back to try different dishes. So far, I had the shrimp udon (but slurped that up so quickly I didn't get a picture), papaya salad, lemongrass tofu vermicelli, and shrimp summer rolls. Hubby enjoyed the Pho, MIL adores the pork udon. Came here on a date, with the MIL, and with friends. Received great service each time and devoured all our dishes with delight. Not one thing to complain about. Also love their variety of sauces available on the table--don't even have to ask! The coffee was delicious too. I had it black and it was rich and smooth, no bitterness at all. And I split the fried banana dessert with friends (avoided the ice cream)...which I should mention I'm pescatarian and I avoid dairy. Love a place where I can enjoy my meal along with the company of my meat-eating, dairy-drinking loved ones. Again, something for everyone. Parking is on the side of the building. I'll get down to it so you can logistically plan your visit :) Parking: Free - right next to the restaurant. Inside/Outside Seating: Tight seating inside but it felt cozy during the rainstorms we've been having. They also have beautiful outdoor seating too. Definitely a nice homey gem to take someone special. Food: this place is definitely underrated. The vermicelli, pho, stir fried udon, all bangers. Theres only such a handful of super good food on this side and I'm definitely adding it to my list. The food is simple no frills but it tastes like a nice homemade meal with love. I really appreciate that they don't load half of the vermicelli dish with veggies. Instead, they gave us the veggies on the side. Service: Friendly Mom and Pops ran establishment. The owners actually have several other locations in town called "Pho Viet" but each is equally as tasty in my opinion. The premiere pho restaurant in Kaneohe. And I'm not alone. You can expect a packed restaurant and parking lot during dinner hours any day of the week. All the food here is flavorful. My go-to dish lately has been the porridge. Had this when I was sick and whether it was coincidental or not, I felt significantly better the next day. Heads up that this dish contains ginger (which I think is the special ingredient, but it's not for everyone). However, you can always ask for it to be on the side. The pho is still amazing. It has the perfect balance of being flavorful, but also clean. At most pho places, it's either one or the other. The spring rolls are great and the shaking beef is a solid alternative if you ever want to change things up. Service is fantastic. The owners seem to genuinely care about their customers. Always friendly even though they are packed to the seams. This is the one place where I'm seriously bummed whenever they take a long (and well deserved) vacation! read more

They get 5 stars for having Bahn Xeo for $18.50!!!! It was so crispy too. One of my favorite dishes. The place is clean and so is the the bathroom. They have outdoor seating as well. If you do sit inside the AC can make it really cold so bring a sweater. We tried the oxtail soup because it was $19.50, that's a great price!! Not bad but the broth isn't flavorful but I will not complain for $19.50. Add some lime plum sauce fresh herbs and let's eat. They didn't have peanuts and ginger to add to the soup so it's is t a local style oxtail. If you have $20 and want oxtail soups then this is your place!! Got a Christmas gift certificate from my daughter who loves and frequents the eatery.Was a disappointing take out experience. The packaging of the food was 5 stars , but the crispy beef noodles were a disappointment. The noodle were removed from the plastic wrapper not fried enough& put in the takeout styrofoam container. Beef is what I ordered and it was so sparse. The vegetables were overcooked when you take out this dish, so I would eat in! The gravy was the only positive side of the dish , but was not enough to cover the noodles fully. The extra large pho was packaged nicely & veggies were fresh & noodle, & tripe plentiful. The soup base isn't made the same as before the boiling of the bones for long hours is the norm. The soup base was definitely lacking the normal rich taste! The staff & owners are always friendly & provide great service!The restaurant is clean and beautifully maintained. Dining in is much better. read more

Prices was a little higher than other places out there. The Pho broth was missing something but couldn't figure it out. Started with Summer roll - two pieces for $10.50 and was very small. Ono tho and that mint was so nice and fresh. Their peanut sauce was thinner than other places. Combination Pho $16.50 for a large - Portion was decent for a large size. Unfortunately the dish was missing the tripe and tendon as mentioned by the waitress. Yes, the rare beef was so fresh and no need cook em. Moooooing for days. Ono Beef pho $15.50 for a medium bowl. Oh man, the food here is excellent. Whenever i want take out for pho i come here because the food is delicious and the customer service is also excellent, it makes me feel so welcomed. My friend and I were out in Kaneohe and wanted to get some pho on this rainy day. We checked out this place because it was right across the street. We walked in and were greeted and seated by the friendly staff. The place is small, but new and clean, with a very extensive menu. We placed our order, and the food came out pretty quick. We got their iced coffee (drip filter) some spring rolls, and of course the pho. The iced coffee was perfect, with just the right amount of condensed milk. The spring rolls were nice and crunchy with a lot of veggies on the side. The combination pho was good. Filled with all the different tendon, brisket, beef balls, etc.... The broth was amazing!!! Overall, the place is nice, the employees (we think are the owners) were very friendly and attentive. The prices are pretty on par with other pho places that we've dined at. There are places where you know you'll have a great time the moment you set foot in the door. Golden Pho is one of them. What a lovely place, what wonderful food! The inside ambience is charming and bright. There is also an outside patio with colorful lights which looks super-cute. We went here for the first time tonight. My husband had the XL pho with ribeye and meatballs and I had the medium bowl of the same order. The broth was really tasty, the meat perfectly tender, and the garnishes plenty. We also had one order of homemade spring rolls which had a great crisp and came with a generous serving of garnishes (lettuce, pickled carrots and radish, vermicelli, Thai basil) for wrapping. Such a satisfying dish! What made this visit extra-special were the kind and attentive owners who were so hospitable and welcoming. Their lovely smile and care for us and other customers sets this place apart from many others. The citrusy Vietnamese candy at the end was the perfect sweet treat to finish a wonderful meal. Best place I've eaten so far since being here. Picked my husband up from work to grab lunch. Based on positive reviews I took him here knowing he's been wanting pho. We walk in and quickly greeted by a woman who seated us immediately. She asked us if we wanted something to drink and made some suggestions. We ordered the fried spring rolls to start. I had the bbq chicken/egg roll vermicelli bowl and my husband had sliced beef pho. Everything came out quick and was delicious. The flavors were spot on and everything we needed. I always order take out so this would be my review on my first dining experience here. First off, parking is a bit small... and it's hard to find street parking. But people have seemed to make it work and the employees even help you to find a spot to park. The exterior of this place is amazing though. It's like a mix between a restaurant and a house. When looking from the outside, my expectations is that it'll be a BIG restaurant but it's actually not. It's very small and cozy, a few tables insides and a few tables outside. Customer service here is TOP tier. The employees always had a smile on their face and literally were super super friendly and accommodating. They seem to really love their job or they're family owned and love their business. Now on to the food, I ordered my go-to pho which is usually just brisket & tripe. My dad ordered the combination pho & spring rolls. I also ordered some tofu summer rolls. Just a disclaimer that I've had lots of different pho's, different locations and also homemade. Their pho was good but it wasn't the best. Broth is more on the lighter side, I prefer my pho more heavy and dark. The summer rolls were good, I just prefer mines to have mint leaves over Thai basil leaves. The sauce was really thick and good though! I love how they didn't water down their peanut sauce. I really should have taken a picture of their menu. It's quite extensive. There are so many things to choose from and the pictures of the food made choosing what to get very difficult. It all looks really yummy. I have the vegetarian summer rolls and the #18 Pho which was beef. All of it was delicious. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and spacious. The service was fast and friendly. I went there to help celebrate my friend's birthday and we talked for an hour after we finished eating because of how comfortable and relaxing the environment was. We didn't see anyone waiting to be seated, but we still asked if they needed us to leave and were told that we could stay. If you are in a hurry though, and just want to eat and run, it is absolutely doable because the service is like I said very fast. read more

As someone who grew up eating Vietnamese food and is Vietnamese, Im very selective on the restaurants and I go to and this place is 10/10. The pho is so good. The best on the east side. I also love that they make coffee the real way. It's no pre-made and they give it to you the way they would in Vietnam. The beef rolls were also super delicious. The customer service is also superb. Didn't order the usual Pho at our first visit here. We wanted to try something different than what we normally get at any Pho restaurant. The salt and shrimp was good and nice size. Enough for the two of us. The Fried Calamari and the beef fried rice was tasty too. The lady that took my order was very nice and helpful. I also learned that they were in Manoa and relocated to Kaneohe (if this information is incorrect please let me know). Lucky for us they are closer to home. They food came out quick enough. Dinner in Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii... My friends and I decided to go to Golden Pho because we saw the lights on! A banner with "Grand Opening" and 10% off also caught our eyes! Located between Mui Kwai Chinese Restaurant and Whiskey Smoke 808, this new building seemed to have been under construction for a while. This evening (12-1-23), we happened to drive past and noticed that it was finally open! We called and asked what time is closing time... 9pm... we said that we'd be right over! We were warned that they had run out of pho and that they still had vermicelli, curry, stew, etc. Parking was free and convenient in their parking lot. The driveway goes around the building with the flow of traffic in one direction. The restrooms are outside - at the backdoor of the restaurant. Inside, it was clean, bright, and pleasant! There are tables and counter seating indoors, as well as some outdoor seats. Service was very friendly and helpful. Both the man and woman pouring water, taking orders, delivering food to tables, and distributing menus were very welcoming and grateful for our business. All three of us wanted the vermicelli with spring roll and grilled pork, but there was only one order of vermicelli left. The other two servings were with rice. We agreed that the pork was tender and tasty! The veggies were fresh! We devoured our meals! If you're in Kaneohe, visit this new business now while the 10% discount is available! Little small inside seating but also few small tables outside near the street as well. About 5 parking stalls on property, if filled need to find street parking on the side. Food, so since I was a little under I sent for my order lol. Combo pho, so has a little of meatball, raw steak, brisket or flank and tripe. Broth was pretty good and tasty. The flavors in the pho broth was so good!!! We didn't need to add any hoisin sauce to the broth. They also give a generous amount of noodles in their bowls. The whole restaurant was so clean and bright. Even though you have to go outside the restaurant for the bathroom it was spotless.
