I love this place. Great Carne Asada burritos!! I would highly recommend it if you're in the area.

One of my favorite places of all time. The food is always fresh and has been the same the quality for the last several years. I've never had anything I didn't like, from burritos to tacos to enchiladas to chile relleno. Love you long time Jose's. read more

BEST BREAKFAST BURRITO EVER! Love this place!! I would say by far the yummiest breakfast burritos and shrimp burritos have to have one once a week at least...or pick them up for my whole office. read more

Came here on my lunch break and had to wait 30 minutes for my burrito. I ordered carne asada burrito with rice, sour creme & cheese. When I cut my burrito in half there was barely any meat.... I basic paid for a cheese & rice burrito. I'm still UPSET. read more

Yummy, affordable, and good portion size. I had the Carne Asada torta. The meat was delicious! The bread was a little lackluster, but it came with guacamole and I love Avocado! Definitely coming back if I'm in the area. read more

Jose's Taco - Mexican Near Me - Oceanside, California

See all

I really like the chicken & the guacamole. The dowdnfall is I cannot stand having the floor swept while I, or other diners, are eating.

I'm surprised that so many people like this place the food is not authentic the rice is stale the beans taste nasty the only good thing there is the fishtacos. Also the chinesee place next to it got shut down because of a rat infestation. read more

I the rolled tacos and chicken tostada... Not the mention the pico de gallo is the BEST! My family and I have been going here for over 7 years. read more

The best little taco shop in oceanside. Love the fresh salsa available at the salsa bar. Can't beat their fish taco combo. And if you haven't yet seen the joses special burrito I suggest checking it out. Very impressive. 4 star only because it is so small inside its hard to enjoy your meal there when the line is along your side. Other than that the food is fanatic. Everybody should try it out. read more

One of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had!!!! Unfortunately the last two times I was in there there was only two ladies working and both times they got my order wrong consecutively. Because of this it makes me not want to eat there anymore when I'm in a hurry read more

One of my favorite Mexican food places. I've been coming here since I was a kid. My favorites here are rolled tacos, bean and cheese burrito and the chicken burrito. The tortillas here are SO good. I love the crumbly cheese and green salsa they have here. It's also very inexpensive. The food comes quick and hot. read more

I LOVE this place's food. However, the girl working the cash register is the grumpiest person ever. She rolls her eyes, has a snappy tone, and is just overall unpleasant to be around. I would almost think twice before coming here just so I don't have to deal with her attitude. read more

Years ago my mom used to work near Jose's and she appreciated the fact that Jose's had chicken rolled tacos (she doesn't eat red meat).....for years when she would go into work on the weekends she would always come home in the afternoons with a couple orders of rolled tacos and a couple fish burritos for our family of 4 to share! As a child I was a very picky eater and I told myself I hated fish or seafood just because! After trying Jose's fish burritos I built up a liking for fish and to this day I still love those fish burritos. Also, I just so happen to work walking distance of Jose's (yes!!!!!) and every so often a coworker and I will make the trek to Jose's on our lunch break and I would get my go to: fish burrito with extra limes!!! I also like their rolled taco combination plate and there are other items (chicken taco, carne asada fries, Chile relleno burrito) that have all been delicious! I'm so glad Jose's exists and I'm even more glad that it's within walking distance of where I currently work!!! :) read more

I got the "Special Burrito" and all I have to say is ... OMG!!!! The thing was HUGE! and it had everything yummy in it for less that $8.00!. It had to of weighed 3lbs! It took 3 ppl to eat half of it! It had meat, cheese, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, beans, and rice! It took 2 tortillas to make it! Totally AWESOME!!!!! read more

Chile. Relleno. Burrito. The BEST thing on their menu! I cannot go to Oside without having one. Sometimes the wait can be hassle, but I really don't care as long as I get this burrito. Their rolled tacos are great too, and my brother swears on their breakfast burritos. If you live near here, I envy you. read more

This little taco shop is a gem! The food is authentic, fresh and delicious.

The food is really good , the old guy behind the counter makes u feel like he is doing u a favor, he has 0 customer service. Last week my wife order a breakfast burrito,I show up to pick the burrito and the girl tells me we never order in that location, she then has the nerve to tell me to call their other location to cancel the burrito, and tells me to give her my phone to check where I call.I check my wife's phone is and she did call the right location,I go inside and tell the girl and she gave me attitude, I like the food but if the employees don't change their attitude with customers I will reconsider going back to This junk yard! I gave them 3 starts because of the lack of customer service. read more

Jose's Taco shop located next to the Home Depot of 78 and College. Great ma and pops hole in the wall Mexican family owned resturant. Great menu and even have breakfast. Better be hurgry when you order a Jose Special Burrito. They are huge, packed full of meat of your choice, rice, beans, cheese, sauce, guguacimolli, (excuse the spelling),they don't skimp on anything and you can vary that of your choice. Pricing is very resonable for what you get on all their food, and can't say how delicious it is too. read more

I tried the veggie burrito and fries. The fries were OK but the veggie burrito should be called the carrot and celery burrito. There was no salsa no beans no cilantro or anything else interesting. read more

I purchased a Jose's burrito suprema at about 10:30 a.m. May 25th. Fabulous, I think the whole chicken was in it!!!! The cash register gal sucked. I think she forgot that I contributed to her paycheck. Just before I ordered, she sneezed into her arm & hand. She took my order & went to the grill to help with the food on the grill !!!!!! Good hygiene practices, She acted like she was doing me a favor taking my order!!!! Jose your reputation can disappear in an instant !!!! I was in the pizza biz for 25 years & I know how quickly you can disappear !!!!! The home depot store on melrose is a much better operation. Your food is fabulous, get that employed straightened out before you disappear. steve read more

Perfect place for take out- not adequate for eat in. The food is always consistent we love the rolled tacos and carne asada. We make a trip close to monthly to have joses! read more

Today my wife and I tried Jose's Taco for the first time. I had two carne asada burritos which were excellent. We used to go to another restaurant in the area for carne asada but Jose's is much better. The meat was well trimmed, so there was no fat to gag on which is very important. We plan on going to Jose's more often in the future. read more

Don't expect the employees to ask you how your day is or even make eye contact. Who cares though. I'm here for the food not for the hello how are you small talk like everyone else in this world. I eat at this place at least 3 times a month and love every second of it. The breakfast burritos are LEGIT. read more

We found Jose's when we were in the area going to pick up some home improvement supplies next door. LOVED IT!! We figured it might be good because there was literally a line out the door - a lot of contractors and medical personnel because the hospital is nearby. We ordered a chicken burrito and veggie burrito. Both were fantastic. RE the veggie burrito - it actually had VEGGIES in it (peppers, tomato, carrots, potato, corn, etc.). Usually "veggie burritos" consist of rice, beans, salsa, and guacamole. The tortillas were extremely fresh, the food was served piping hot and tasted fantastic. Good prices and portion sizes. The service was so friendly and prompt - not like most taco shops where they barely speak English and once they hand you your food they don't bother asking if you are satisfied. The ladies working at Jose's took the time to ask every customer if they were happy with their order. The place is small and we had to wait for a table to open up, but that wasn't a problem. The salsa bar was good but we prefer a little more heat in our sauce. The green salsa is very flavorful but the reds could use a slight improvement. We will definitely hit this place again very soon. We could kick ourselves for going down the street to the "---bertos" shops for so many years. This little hole in the wall has a lot to offer if you want a quick, authentic, Mexican meal on the go. read more

I have come here twice within 5 to 10 minutes of closing time to be turned away!! I like their food, but this was the final straw. If they don't care about staying open until the actual closing time, this customer will find another taco shop to frequent!! read more

Customer service was horrible! Carne asada burrito was salty and dry. I visited Jose's Taco shop on Vista Way on May 5th at around 4:20p. My sister and I were the only customers in the shop at the time. We waited about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged that we were there. A cook had to call the female worker from in the back to come and help us. She was rude. She did not apologize for the wait and she was not paying attention to us. Instead, she was focused on the FedEx driver who was in the parking lot. We had to repeat our orders, while she was fixed on the FedEx worker. Our burritos had very little guacamole and carne asada, which was very salty and dry. Bad service + salty burritos = Never Again! read more

This place has C food at best, salsa is terrible, the establishment is filthy, the reason I'm rating it so bad is because the customer experience and customer service is absolutely horrible. Won't go back. read more

this place sucks the lady at the register would rather clean the trash can than help the customers at the register I had to wait 20 minutes for her to do the freaking trash bag for me to order and then after she was done she went back to the back to paint the freaking barn and then came back looking like a clown and had a freakin attitude with me , if you dont like your job go to work in a taco shop in Mexico or go across the parking lot and take some lessons from the people at Home Depot read more

This is our favorite Mexican place hands down! The Carne Asada Burrito is huge and since ordering the first one, I really can't go in without having it. Prior to that have had the chimmichanga, rolled tacos, enchilada platter etc. My husband is more adventurous and has had almost everything on the menu. the daily specials are always good and a ton of food. There is no way you are leaving here hungry! I wish it was closer to work so I could go more often. Always Always Always Great food! read more
