I will never eat here again! Customer service is horrible at this place. The lady who took my order was very rude to me and the other customers who ordered after me. I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas with rice and beans.... I found nasty BEEF in my enchilada and the beans and rice are extremely bland. I would not recommend this place. The restaurant is yummy and has a good option of food items. Probably not so much for vegetarians, but come on, Mexican's are the biggest carnivores:). Ive been here more than 10 times. The portions here are relatively large for he cheap prices you pay. Carne asada fries are only $5 something. And the Jose's special is about $6. I highly recommend the Jose's special because it's the size of two burritos put together. You can split it between two people. Condiments (salsas, carrots, peppers, and sauces) are on the side and you can help yourself. read more

Okay so I've been going to this taco shop for YEARS , since I was a kid. Food is great. One thing I cannot stand is TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. If you read the reviews below, the same rude cashier with light hair who has a horrible attitude and continues to be completely rude, is Rosa . And the worst thing is , SHE'S THE MANAGER. CARNE ASADA FRIES!! Best EVERRRR (sandlot voice)

So, first time in, and I decided on a "JOSE'S SPECIAL" (it's the only item in all caps on the menu board...hint, hint, hint ;-) ) chicken burrito, at $5.85. I thought, "special? Hey, we'll see what's so special about it." Man, did I find out. When they called our number, I thought they must have a mistake. It looked like a small child wrapped in a tortilla. I mean, it's the stuff of nightmares - giant burritos that come to life to take over the world. Like a beached white whale, it lay on the plate as I tried to figure out how to attack it. A plastic knife carved it in two, but I felt so inadequate in its presence. It was filled with chicken, rice, beans and goodness. Like Roberto Duran, I eventually had to say, "No Mas." I finished half. Next time, I'll have to train to take it on...maybe some carne asada fries? read more

We had just finished shopping at Home Depot and a little bit hungry, so we stopped in here for something light. We shared the 2 beef taco combo. The rice and beans portions were skimpy compared to other taco places and the taste was typical. The tacos were deep fried and the tortilla tasted similar to JBX. My bf liked his otherwise I would have given it 1 star. My taco shell was split and I missed all the meat on my first bite and the last bite. Some of it was dry too. I'll most likely patronize other taco joints in Oside, as I prefer the double soft tortilla tacos anyways. read more

Great Mexican food at decent prices. The service is subpar, but definitely worth it. I would recommend the carne asada nachos.

San Diego food sucks. However, there are a few joints you should try, and this is one of them. This Mexican gem is located in the same plaza as Home Depot off of the 78. They apparently have been around for 20+ years, and from the looks of the clientele, there are many who make this place a weekly stop. You will find police, firefighters, EMT's, and medical personnel (walking distance to hospital) frequenting this joint. Why? (1) Food is reasonably priced. (2) Quantity of food is ridiculous. When these two factors are combined, many are prone to excuse the shortcomings of the food and/or service. I am a burrito fan, so when I stop by in the morning, I do the breakfast burrito. In the afternoon, I do the carne asada. I grab a drink, and am happy for the next several hours. For those of you with a more dainty personaility, the rolled are pretty decent as well. In fact, you can choose between chicken or beef which is a bit rare since normally, rolled tacos are implicitly beef by nature. Finally, I like the fact that you can see your food being cooked. The counters are low, so the chef has no place to do funny stuff. This is a big plus to me since, I have heard of many horror stories from former employees of food joints describing weird-ass things cooks do to make the food. Give it a shot, you wont be disappointed. read more

Don't come here and expect authentic Mexican food. This is more like street fair food. Fast, cheap, and good. The quality of the ingredients are pretty solid. The meat is always tender and flavorful. Wedged in between all forms of Dr offices, is this small, quaint, typical hole in the wall spot. The food was good and was pretty quick. I had a California burrito and it was tasty. Their carrots are GINORMOUS. However, I will say I was pretty disappointed in the salsa. I am a fan of spicy and if you are to, then this might not be the place for you.
