Visiting from the US on business, we always struggled to find a place that was open early (e.g. 7:30pm) so we would have enough time to sleep before reporting back to the office early next morning. Having spent 4 weeks in Madrid, we managed to find only a handful of places that would be open even for a light meal. Joselito was one of them. We wanted to go back to Albora but were told even the bar would not be open until 8:30 but instead we were suggested to go to Joselito whose kitchen does not close after lunch. So we went. The menu was somewhat limited, but everything we ordered was truly exceptional. We started with the trio of jamon from years 2011-2013, a nice way to taste the differences. We then had cannelloni, meatballs, pluma steak, and fried pork. Every dish used pork, but it never felt too much pork. The meatballs were the best I had in my life. The pluma steak was cooked very similar to what I had at Albora and was phenomenal. We left the restaurant extremely pleased and satisfied. The space rather looks like a jamon store, but they serve seriously awesome food here. read more
