This was by far the worst buying experience. My fiancé and I went in to buy suits for our wedding party. The first time we went in we were never greeted and when someone did eventually come over to help us it seemed that we were inconveniencing her when asking questions. We left that day with written prices and item numbers. We went back the following week to purchase all six suits. Long story short, since the lady we had previously spoken to was not there at the time we had to deal with another employee. This gentleman quoted us 3 different prices in a matter of 20 minutes. We ended up waiting for the lady, who was the manager, to get in for her shift and when we showed her the paper with the pricing she told us that we were wrong and she never would have quoted us those prices! Unbelievable since we had her written information to prove it. The lack of customer service was atrocious. I sent an email to corporate regarding our experiences...it was that bad. I would give this store zero stars if I could. I hope no one has an awful experience like we did. We ended us buying our suits elsewhere...somewhere that knew what customer service was. read more

Aside from a mom and pop store I'd consider their main competition to be the "Men's Wearhouse." I was brought in by a sale which was effectively buy two, get three free. Keeping in mind their normal prices are out of my league I felt I got a good deal. I felt similar when I took advantage of MW's bogo sale. This location has more of a dressy selection of clothes versus MW. I prefer the choices of dress shirts here; the fabric and fit are terrific. The pant/slacks are also excellent quality. They offer free tailoring although they don't advertise it (why?). I don't know that it's free 'lifetime' tailoring like MW, perhaps that's why (they don't advertise it.) JAB salespeople were not as aggressive as MW but also a shade less helpful. In either case I'm not calling those negatives since everyone has different shopping preferences. It's just my observation. If I need more dress clothes and they have a sale I'd come back. read more

I recently went to the store in Longmeadow and had a positive experience. I was interested in the buy 1 suit and 3 free deal, which seemed too good to be true, given the quality of their suits, but it was true. Since I did not need 4 new suits, my 33 year old son got 2 of them. The salesman, Stephen was very helpful and understood how to fit a suit. He was also very diplomatic with the different opinions of my wife and I. My wife is more traditional than I am. Once he figured us out, he made some excellent suggestions and steered us to some excellent choices. The tailoring was well done as well. My son who works in sales, was equally pleased. read more

Like others have said, I really should have read the reviews before shopping here... We went in a few months ago looking to buy suits for our wedding party. They offered to give us a nice group discount because of the amount of people we had and we picked everything out and thought we were all set. A few months later the whole group goes in for the fitting and while we're all trying on the suits they tell us "sorry, prices have changed" and they wouldn't be able to honor the original price. They basically screwed over our whole wedding party and wasted our time and now we're forced to find an alternative last minute with the wedding right around the corner. I will NEVER shop there again. read more

MAN! I WISH I WOULD HAVE YELPED IT! Dude, when do you forget to Yelp things important in your life like tuxedo (rental) shopping? Oh, that's right, all the time. I spend my time using yelp for restaurants, and after reading the reviews for Jos A Bank, I wish I would have. To say this place has pissed me off is kind of an understatement. Although, since momma told me "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all", I'll say the positive things about this place: The employees are very well-mannered, constantly with the "sir" attitude... like you're shopping at an upscale place... and you are, as far as price is concerned. Plus, even if you're there for renting tuxes they'll try to find you a deal to buy a suit (it seems to be the only solid thing they are good at). I will also say one employee definitely had his stuff together and knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the rest of the store. There, I said it. Now: I went in with my fiancee to pick out my tuxes for the wedding party. The reason we chose them over Men's Warehouse was because Men's Warehouse simply just didn't have the colors we needed, and their swatches had this pattern on it that I absolutely loathed. I think it was grosgrain on all the vests. And if that wasn't bad enough, everything else was paisley. Ew! But this is about Jos A Bank, not Men's Warehouse! We SPENT NO LESS THAN 2 HOURS FINDING ALL THE COLORS WITH SWATCHES! How is that possible? How is it possible that it took 2 hours for me and my fiancee to look through some books to find the colors we wanted?! I'll tell you how: the incompetence of every single person in that store. Anyway... Price: After discussing with one of the three people it took to help me get my tux on order that I was supposed to spend ~180 a tux (seemed reasonable for an upscale place, right?)... somehow, we got on the topic of my free tux for having something like 8 groomsmen. Sweet deal, right? Somehow, the add-ons, which consisted of SHOES AND A SHIRT AND THE DAMAGE WAIVER ended up bringing the total per tux to 240. So I decided that since this was upscale, I'd just try to divvy out my share of the free tux to everyone else, which they said they could do.... (I do recognize this is my fault, currently) Anyway, long story short, I talked to about 3 other retailers for Jim's Formal (Jos A Bank is a front for them) and the SAME tux from ANYONE else was going to be in the 160 range. No BS add-ons. The damage waiver was even higher from Jos A Bank... I'm sure that they have a way better policy that makes it worth it though. NOT. Long story short, the pricing is stupid and ridiculously high. Customer Service: The Website (manage event): Somehow the order was put in for white shirts. Not ivory shirts, as I had requested. So, I called the store to find out, "WTF". So they called, and verified that the shirts were all Ivory. I look at the website and it still says white? How does that make sense?! Well, the website never got updated for any of that crap (even days later). I'll also take this time to point out some things the other groomsmen told me: My brother, who lives in Albuquerque.... went in for his fitting. He was told that there was no jacket for the wedding. Are you f8cking kidding me? IT'S RIGHT ON THE STUPID WEBSITE. Maybe they were trying to figure out if I wanted ivory jackets instead of shirts. Anyway, evidently they are morons there too. My buddy from around here who went to get his fitting said it took him an hour... Yeah, an HOUR to get a fitting done? How is that possible? I'll tell you how: they couldn't find the reservation. In this day and age, how is that possible? THEY DID IT IN 5 MINUTES IN ALBUQUERQUE! He also mentioned that they were "not polite because it was as if the sale was already done". Well, I guess that makes sense.....not. Maybe they are better as a clothing store, but if you are going to choose to get your tuxes for your wedding from here, I hope you have more patience than I do... and believe me, you're going to need it. Do not shop here, my husband was fitted for a suit for our sons wedding. Three weeks before the wedding he went to pick up his suit, guess what..they LOST his suit. It was nowhere to be found, they must of gave it to someone else .. How does that happen! read more

Horrible experience. The staff is incompetent. The gentlemen we were dealing with kept interrupting us until we practically had to yell over him. Took forever to check out. It seems the only knowledgeable employee was the tailor. I don't really blame the hourly employees. I think the management is incapable or skilled enought to manage their employees. My husband and I had a wonderful experience buying suits for our bridal party at Jos. A. Bank in Longmeadow. We met Will on his first day at the store, and he was the best from the beginning. He was flexible with our limited budget, knowledgeable about the suits we were looking into for our bridal party, and wonderfully understanding at every fitting. Will was able to work with us through the five times or so we came into the shop to ensure that we had everything perfect for my husband's suit and my dad's suit. Joe, the tailor, was wonderful as well. He was accommodating and worked with us to make sure that the suits for both my dad and my husband fit perfectly. I cannot say enough about how appreciative we were of how Will worked with us. I would recommend it to any couple looking for suits for their wedding! read more

Worst. Experience. EVER. Buy one suit and get two free?! Sounds too good to be true right? That's because it is. I should have known though, when my sales associate looked like he borrowed his suit and sneakers (yeah, sneakers) from a hobo. The greeters at Walmart are more useful and more competent. Extremely long story, short. They lost my entire wedding party's order and measurements not once but twice. Then when they finally get all the suits in they're not what we wanted. And the worst part was that the entire debacle took so long that there was no time to get the right suits in because the wedding date was too close. I wouldn't shop here again if you paid me. Quite literally the most frustrating experience I have had in a store... probably ever. The staff usually consists of two or three employees with virtually no business being an employee anywhere. The only reason they somehow get you out of the store (after an hour or so) is because of their one competent employee who seems to be quite good at his job. Taking measurements took far too long and I left with little to know confidence that they would be correct. We attempted to add my two younger brothers to the wedding party and have them fitted for tuxedos but Jos A bank seems to have a prehistoric computer system that would not allow them to add anyone to the wedding party unless we had the grooms father who lives in Atlanta go to the Jos A Banks in Atlanta and add them there. Finally (two days before the wedding) the tuxedos were available. We were off and on the phone with them 4 times before confirming that they actually had the tux's. During every single phone conversation they would ask us to call back or hold. Everyone time they insisted that they only had my fathers and another groomsmen. Till finally they found ours. My father wanted to pay for all four of ours tux's and their computer system was in capable of charging him for all four so we had to go through four transactions, that's four credit card swipes, one for each tux. Now four transactions at the grocery store might take 10 minutes. At Jos A Banks it might take... An hour? This is not an isolated incident. Another groomsmen came into the same store the next day to get his tux and it took them 30 minutes to find it because they had misspelled his name and couldn't figure it out. When he had got fitted he had prepaid. When he went to pick up the tux they said he hadn't paid... And would not let him leave with the tux unless he paid a second time. He had to find his credit card receipt which (thank god) he left in his truck! to prove to them he had paid. If he had paid cash and lost the receipt (three months later) he would have been forced to pay a second time! Three different Jos a Banks were used by groomsmen and fathers. Every one of us had a terrible (though hilarious) story to tell... Atlanta, Rochester, Longmeadow, Lastly the tuxedos had to be returned the morning after (a Sunday). As we all get up late, hungover, with a lot of cleaning up, packing and checking out of hotels to do... we have to return our tuxedos in a town 40 minutes away or else we get a $25.00 fine per tux per day. Oh and my jacket had a two inch rip on the back shoulder which I missed until right before the wedding. read more

I had went to Jos A Bank in Albany and they had given me the wrong pair of pants. When I returned them to this store the sales people were very helpful and accommodative, especially considering returns to a different store aren't what seemed like store policy. read more

The sales associates here are apathetic and rude. It was more difficult than it should have been to get one of them to help us find a suit and answer questions about getting it tailored. There was one sales associate there who really seemed to know what he was doing, but the other two working on the day I went were not very helpful. If you need a suit just go to another Jos A Bank location. read more

Was in a rush for a suit for a wedding and Keith did an amazing job helping me out on short notice. He was a true professional and I received lots of compliments on my suit from wedding attendees. My shopping experience was frustrating. It took nearly a month for the two suits I purchased to be altered correctly. In addition, the two dress shirts I had to order (what I wanted was not in stock) were the wrong styles when they arrived at my house, in spite of our being assured both times that the styles I wanted we're available. (A slim-fit white shirt arrived as a tailor-fitted shirt. When we returned it to the store and substituted it by ordering a black shirt with black buttons, this new shirt arrived with white buttons.) The suit alterations and the exchanging of shirts required three trips to the store from my home several miles away. However, these inconveniences were no where near as annoying as the service I received on the third visit to the store to return the shirt with the white buttons. All the employees prior to this last visit were very helpful and considerate, but the saleswoman I dealt with on this third visit was totally unsympathetic to what I had gone through with the shirt orders and to a problem with a leather jacket I had purchased the previous week. (It had a fold in the collar which I was unable to fix when I brought it home.) Her reaction to all of these concerns was an arrogant, dismissive, "Well, nothing's perfect in this world." This blatant disregard for our problems and her disrespect for the customer have convinced me not to return to the Longmeadow store for any further purchases.
