The old building is charming. The selection of cotton quilting fabric is huge. The fabric is logically arranged by theme and color. But there was a specific fabric I couldn't find at Ehrlich's so I had to go looking for another source. Mila had MUCH more fabric on hand. They also have a lot of fabric you can order - about the same amount as Ehrlich's, but different kinds. After spending months (literally) trying to find a specific fabric at Ehrlich's, Jo Anne's, etc, I found it in 15 minutes at Mila. The only downside to Mila is that the owner (I presume) lacks social grace and customer service skills. I found him to be pushy and incredibly condescending (and not just to me). I also had the distinct feeling he was rushing me and trying to avoid having to place a custom order. He's the type, you know, who is always right and you're an idiot. I hate those types! I would have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the owner. If you're looking for a robust alternative to your usual fabric/upholstery place, try Mila, but try to work with one of the women. He may not be smooth but I know that he is doing his best for every customer. If you want the right fabric for the right job and want it done right. You can count on Milas. Overall I find I don't do as well here as I used to do when they were in Framingham. Quilting tool selection is also limited.

This location was awful. I ordered and was sent an email acknowledging it had been received. When I arrived (about an hour later), it wasn't ready. I wasn't upset as I didn't get the email saying it had been fulfilled. My issue came when I spoke to the gentleman in framing services (which is where you pick up the online orders). He was blasé and made no attempts to see if anyone was actually working on it or maybe even call a manager. Instead, he worked at a snail's pace helping another customer with a frame order. It was a Sunday and there were not many customers in the store. Eventually (after 30 minutes) asked him to cancel my order as I would just purchase it there myself. He said he would try and remember but his priority was framing and that I should call later. I understand and take responsibility for assuming all Michael's stores are created equal but this was incredibly frustrating. I received an email notification that my order was ready 20 minutes before the store was closing. This was after me already purchasing on my own and then being on hold for 45 with the 800 number trying to cancel. No humans, only a menu that went in circles. I finally called the store and was transferred to frame man. He canceled but never acknowledged any shortcomings on their end (I guess that's what happens when you can only focus on framing). The only positive was the cashier in front. There was NO line so that was quick. She also tried to find a manager for me to help cancel online order but was unable. Perhaps there was no manager on duty and they were covering.

I have sold fabric to your company for many years unfortunately I have gotten many empty promises for a check being mailed out that payment will be made for the fabric purchases that your company has ordered to mine that I have fulfilled shipped out just like what your company has wanted and asked for Many times you guys asking for a rush order important to be shipped out fulfilled ASAP same day and asking me to help you to get the order out as soon as possible and I have and in return all I am asking for is to get paid be paid for my services of materials that you have asked for and I have sold to you is that so much to ask for? but I still have not received payment and it's been a few years I asked to speak to the owner and or the accounts payable department I have left messages with my call back information with the front desk and I have emailed and I have not received any call back if you can please kindly call me back these invoices go back a few years and I would like to get paid for the material that I have sold and given to your company as it is not right not fair that I should not get paid! BEWARE!!! Online Fabric Store is the online retailer for Osgood Fabric Store - they are one in the same. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I ordered a specific white fabric from them and received a yellow, dingy fabric with tiny brown spots in it. Unfortunately, it was sent directly to my upholsterer who knew she'd be receiving a plain"White Fabric" to slipcover a chair. Chair was covered at a cost of $450!!! Chair is ugly as an be, dirty looking ... I simply asked that Online Fabric Store reimburse my cost for the incorrect fabric they had sent me @ $110 and that they send me the correct true "White" fabric at no charge for my inconvenience, since I was going to have to eat the cost of re-upholstering the chair. First they were incredibly rude and passed me from person to person. Then they promised to get back to me as soon as I emailed detailed pictures (which I did, 5 in total). Then they left a vague message on my cell, saying they were going to have to "investigate" bolt of fabric as they are sure they sent the right one. When I originally called the CSR said "Oh, I know what they did, they sent you the "Natural" color instead of the White. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM, YOU WILL BE SORRY. PLEASE ADD YOUR REVIEWS TO YELP ON OSGOODS FABRIC STORE, BOSTON, MA - THIS IS THE BRICK AND MORTAR FOR "ONLINE FABRIC STORE". They need to be put out of business. read more

It would be hard to find a better yarn store if you are any kind of knitting or crocheting crafter…read more I have been both since my nanny taught me to knit when I was about 5 years old. Since then, I have made hundreds of items, mostly knitting, but crocheting and weaving too. I have also woven my own textiles with a loom. So, when I stumbled into this store the first time I was in the five-college neighborhood, I felt as if I had gone to THE yarn supplier of the ages. And I still feel that way. I only work with wool fiber, which means each project is a bit costly and the finished item needs continual vigilance and care to keep it clean and moth-free. But, it is worth it as nothing takes dye and holds it for years, like wool. I actually have an afghan that my grandfather bought from a patient who made it over 100 years ago and it has not faded. (It is a bit dry, though, lol). So, when I decided to make a knitted blanket last Spring from one of my favorite yarns by Noro, I knew the only place I could order dozens of skeins of Kureyon in different colors was Webs. The reason is, most yarn stores, if they still exist -- they do tend to go out of business, sadly, regularly -- will only sell Noro yarns in bulk to you and they have to order them, which takes a lot of time. Webs has them in stock, all the time. I underestimated the number of skeins I needed for this blanket and was able to order extras several times from Webs, with no problem. They have wonderful discounts for buying multiples, carry every kind of yarn you can imagine, and get them to you quickly, well wrapped. What more would we want? I am also thankful that they are still here, thriving, through it all after so many years. Thank you, Webs!

I overheard the instructor talking about the right way to stich arm pieces of sweaters so they don't look overly puffy and I remember thinking that that is actually a good tip and if I lived in the area, I'd probably sign up for classes even though I already know how to crochet, you can always pick up something you didn't know. I loved how they were sitting around the table happily chatting, it looked so cozy. I guess it depends on the persons viewpoint, some people could view that as if they're distracting but I see it as part of the experience. A sense of community. I shopped around them because there were yarns near where they were at, I didn't bother them, they didn't bother me. I got my yarns (see pic) and am looking forward to another great crochet project.
