I was greeted personally as soon as I walked through the door. My feet were measured both sitting and standing. And then the salesman watched me walk barefoot, away from him and towards him. After that he was able to help chose exactly which model and style were best suited for my feet. I had been wearing the same brand for years but last year was a disaster. I had blisters along the tops of my toes for a long time until I figured out how to protect them. He was quite aware of this problem and explained the company changed the model and I was not alone in suffering. So add knowledgeable to excellent service. So- welcome to Longmeadow. The young woman working here was attentive, friendly, and helpful. She did not pressure me into buying anything, yet she let me know that she was there to help if I needed it. She was a good listener and was able to show me several boot options that fit my criteria. There was another woman shopping in the store, and the employee did a great job of helping both of us simultaneously without getting overwhelmed or neglecting either customer. After I chose a pair of boots, she offered to take them outside and spray them down with extra waterproofing sealant, free of charge. I am very impressed with the level of care given to customers at this store. I ended up with a pair of Rieker boots that I am extremely happy with. Warm, insulated, breathable, comfortable, waterproof, sturdy. I know these boots will hold up for several winters. I could not recommend this store enough. *Note: to those who have given this store bad reviews due to poor service during a sidewalk sale, I would offer the idea that the Northampton sidewalk sales are extremely overcrowded and chaotic. I cannot imagine any store offering their normal level of customer service during one of these madhouse shopping events. You are much better off visiting this store during a normal, quiet business day.

A strong scent of snootiness in the air. I went in dress in my hippie clothes, after shopping the farmers market and the service I got was poor, especially for a local store. Is this Macy's??? OR a speciality store????? I have received better service at much lower end stores. You can find the same brand they have there on line, but cheaper. Shop the specific brand you like from there and get a coupon on line. That's what we did, after working with a salesperson that was way too into judging the way I was dressed, we wrote down the brand, googled it, went on line and got a 20% coupon off for first time buyers. The new shop is extremely smaller in size and the set up of the store in general was unorganized. Merchandise was clump together tightly packed, doesn't flow and it just seemed cluttered and some merchandise not easily accessible at all. The new owner should not have moved, BIG BUSINESS MISTAKE. I think she hurt herself by moving. So many people I have chatted with are very disappointed by her move as well and how she treats people poorly. Mimi had a great successful popular shop and the location was perfect. Wished new owner didn't make so many changes. If the wheel wasn't broken why fix it or make so many unnecessary changes. This is the second shop for this new owner. Her first boutique failed and it use to be right next store to Mimi's. After her first boutique failed, her and Mimi worked out things where she (the new owner) would take over and be the new owner at Mimi's. Some changes were fine. I get the new owner wanted to eventually change the name of the shop and make some changes, but moving was a big mistake. My dearly departed mother-in-law and I used to shop there often and we had no such experience. Of course, we were friendly types ourselves. I have never been sorry for any item I bought there for myself or as gifts for others; the slightly higher prices has paid off in the long run. At Herlihy's you got what you paid for.
