They carry excellent quality shoes in my hard-to-find-size and give professional fittings (nearly impossible to find anywhere else). The staff has been cordial and welcoming, without exception, in the 10 years or more I've been shopping there. And the new owner moved and where she moved is awful....hardy any parking spaces and everything is packed so tight, it's hard to shop. The new shop is extremely smaller in size and the set up of the store in general was unorganized. Merchandise was clump together tightly packed, doesn't flow and it just seemed cluttered and some merchandise not easily accessible at all. The new owner should not have moved, BIG BUSINESS MISTAKE. I think she hurt herself by moving. So many people I have chatted with are very disappointed by her move as well and how she treats people poorly. Mimi had a great successful popular shop and the location was perfect. Wished new owner didn't make so many changes. If the wheel wasn't broken why fix it or make so many unnecessary changes. This is the second shop for this new owner. Her first boutique failed and it use to be right next store to Mimi's. After her first boutique failed, her and Mimi worked out things where she (the new owner) would take over and be the new owner at Mimi's. Some changes were fine. I get the new owner wanted to eventually change the name of the shop and make some changes, but moving was a big mistake. But as loaded as it was, it was very well organized and very neat, so shopping and browsing was a real pleasure. They consign an extensive range of Junior & Women's clothing, household Items, home décor, artwork, fine and costume jewelry, silver & gold handbags, shoes, scarves & accessories, small wood furniture, books, CD's, DVD's, gifts, and collectibles. They recently introduced men's clothing to their selection, though currently, their men's inventory is limited to around a dozen outerwear coats and a few colorful bicycle racing jerseys. I also saw a nice selection of soaps, cosmetics, personal care and pet care items. One cool thing I spotted among their collection of sealed party games, was one titled "Fact or Crap." I bought a dress for my granddaughter, and before purchasing it I asked the salesperson whether I…read morewould be able to return it. She told me yes, as long as it was returned by January 8. A few days later, I decided to return the dress because it was too expensive for a newborn. When I went back to the store, a different salesperson told me that the store only issues store credit. When I explained that the previous salesperson had not mentioned this, she pointed to a small pink slip stapled to my receipt that stated the store's refund policy. I asked to speak with the owner, who repeated that the policy was printed on the pink slip. I explained that the slip was given to me after I had already purchased the dress, which makes it irrelevant. The salesperson should have informed me of the return policy before completing the sale. I also pointed out that the standard expectation is to receive a refund, and that the store should clearly post its return policy--such as on the front window or at the register--so customers can see it before making a purchase. Failing to do so is a deceptive practice. The policy should be displayed prominently in the storefront to ensure fair and transparent business practices. I returned the dress and was issued a store credit. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company. I've always supported small businesses, but I will no longer support The Blue Marble.
