I was running late but the woman I spoke with stayed on until I got there. The costume she "put together" was fabulous--a real cotton/velvet blue jacket with a gold collar, a throat ruffle, and a hat with a white feather. It was perfect, of high quality (though used, as this is typically a rental shop), and charged me $25. I couldn't believe it and my son was elated.

Our family was of course wearing our masks. A family in front of us walked in without masks and I asked an employee at customer service if they were enforcing their rules. I am pregnant so this is very much a concern. The lady responded "we haven't really confronted anyone not listening to our sign. Would you like me to?" I said "I mean, we are in a pandemic and it is a rule and you have signs so yes please." She went and confronted the family and pointed to me saying I was uncomfortable with them not wearing masks!! We left. I complained to corporate and they pretended to care for about 2 seconds saying I would hear back and they were looking into it. Just go to any other store or online retailer - target, Amazon, etc. they have you're looking for and put the safety of the customer first.

Its basically the same kind of store as party city,with the prices very similar if not a little saltier. My first problem here was right when we came in. I was looking for a shopping cart, after all,l I was shopping for the 3 of us, and when i asked this guy (Greg) if there was any shopping cart around he made a joke about it and did not answer my question, i still dont know if they have a shopping cart. So we all grabbed a basket each (making the whole experience unnecessarily uncomfortable) and proceeded to shopping. when finally done, we obviously wanted to try out the costumes to make sure it fits.There`s a sign on the fitting room stating that you have to ask an associate to use the fitting room. We went back to the front of the store to call someone, this girl came and helped us. Only then we were informed that we can only try on the vests, dresses, but not the accessories like the shoes, or gloves. They also wont let you touch it, as the associate handles the unpacking herself(little much?). This poor old lady (she must be 65yo) wanted to try on the gloves that went with her costume "my arms are a little big i need to know if its gonna fit" and the associate replied "I`m not supposed to open this but I guess I will let you try one on" This poor lady..the look in her face, senior citizen been treated with such disregard and disrespect... Anyways... The worst part is still to come..Went on to pay for my overpriced costumes, and GREG asked me "how much would you like to be donating today?" well greg that is quite an uncomfortable way of talking to people.You not really leaving people the option of saying no are you? That is borderline coercion and you should know better how to treat your clients as the fitting room lady pointed out, you`re the MANAGER! Well I answered. "no, thank you".. But Greg was not done...believe it or not he asked me:"well you wont donate not even a penny?" Now that wasn`t just uncomfortable,its just plain mean. I answered no again. I will never becoming back GREG, to ANY of spirit halloween stores because of you buddy. You make party city look good on the costumer service department, and that is quite an accomplishment :)

Unfortunately, as of December 2024, Party City will start closing all stores in the United States. This location is in the Simsbury Commons. There were plenty of parking and the location is pretty quiet. The store was large and organized. The employee helping me was nice. I was looking for accessories for a holiday party and found it quickly. This place is great for all your party needs. There were costumes, balloons, candies, and more. It's really unfortunate that they are closing down in early 2025.

Some things are a bit overpriced. I wouldn't get all my supplies here, as it can be costly, but for some things that may be harder to find at bigger retailers, Party City is a good go to.

They've split their services into 2 sites; the one on Barrett Street focuses more on costume rentals. My visit wasn't for a costume but more for make-up and accessories for a costume, but let me tell you, the costume selection for purchase here is outstanding, taking up a large portion of this larger-than-before site. My purpose here was to seek make-up and accessories, of which they again have a giant inventory. I received great service here. I told them exactly what I was seeking, and within minutes I was given demonstrations and samples of exactly what I wanted - super easy, super fun. When you come here, read all the signs on the doors to find the entrance, as a lot of the doors are locked. The entrance you want is "upstairs" in the back, against the parking lot, the rightmost of all available doors. I was very glad to have re-discovered this store!

I'm sorry for how that customer felt but I can assure you that experience is not the norm. I have always seen the staff be super nice. Love their selection & quality of costumes. Definitely plan to use them in the future.
