This is the tale of my search for the perfect wedding dress…read more I have been literally everywhere. A sleazy chain store, and few others, but I didnt find the one on one personal attention that Stylez for the Aisle has. The owner, Nina, is hillarious! Not only did she help me find the perfect dress, she is extremely honest and really funny! We had each other laughing the entire time I was there. It was a really nice break from the stuffy reception that I've had elsewhere. Nina has great taste, and she was able to hone in on my perfect dress in less than 10 dresses. I know that sounds like alot, but I am super indecisive. My fault! Seriously, the first dress she helped me pick out was the one that I am wearing for my wedding. Of course, I wanted to try on everything in her store!! I couldn't pick just one, because she had so many gorgeous dresses. I think the best part of my experience (besides the fact that she should do stand-up!) is the fact that she has dresses at her shop that I didnt see in every other place I had been to. 20 stars!!!

And I must disagree with the reviewer who said "the owner/manager has a very difficult time being friendly." My dearly departed mother-in-law and I used to shop there often and we had no such experience. Of course, we were friendly types ourselves. I am still wearing a fashionable Bettina Riedel (New York) outfit I bought nearly 20 years ago and it washes and wears amazingly well. I have never been sorry for any item I bought there for myself or as gifts for others; the slightly higher prices has paid off in the long run. At Herlihy's you got what you paid for. Now that my husband and I are shopping more in public (after pandemic isolation) we were headed to Florence to shop when we discovered online that it is "temporarily closed." I hope it will indeed reopen this month as indicated elsewhere online. And how I wish the owner would consider a shop in the Berkshires!

Excellent. However I did need help and put myself in the hands of the very capable salesperson. She suggested a dress I would never had glanced at if left to my own devices. At my request she gave me a couple of ideas for accessories. Voila! I looked fabulous! Who knew? I give only 4 stars because I think someone under 30 or 40 may not find much at this store. But as I am north of 50 the more mature styles are just what I was seeking. Let the kids show their muffin tops if they so desire, I'd rather not. These are clothes designed to complement a real life woman's body. If you're a skinny-mini size 2, go elsewhere. Mid range prices, not *cheap. But good quality merchandise and the buyer definitely understands her customer base. I will definitely return soon. Great colors, flowy styles. Really nice scarves and jewelry, too. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS DONE FROM ANDREA AT ZAXWEAR…read more I went to this business after being given a list of local seamstresses in the area of the shop I bought my beautiful wedding dress from. Andrea had my dress from early February until mid June, and I was charged over $370. I had her hem the length of the dress, adjust the shoulder straps, and cinch in the sides of the chest area so it would fit better.  This describes the "finished" alterations when she was done: -Instead of letting out the straps from the fabric (there was extra fabric for the straps below the stitching) to adjust them, she cut the straps which shortened the length of them so when she moved them further down in the back as I had originally  asked, it made the chest area ride up and sit awkwardly in the front.  -When she cinched in the sides she did not remove any fabric or boning, making it bulky and flare outward.  -She sewed the cups in so crookedly that when I got home with my dress I had to remove them.  -She didn't even cut a straight hemline. It literally looked like a child cut it and I had to fix this myself. BUT WAIT, IT GETS WORSE! When I contacted Andrea after getting home with my dress and noticing more and more details that were poorly done, I sent her a brief email describing some of things I was unhappy with. She sent me a response saying that if I wanted to bring the dress back in she would give me a new estimate! Shocked by her suggestion, I sent a follow up email which included photos, asking her if, given the length of time- almost 6 months- that she had my dress, it was truly her best work that she should now charge me more money for to fix. No response. I emailed her again after several days, stating how I was surprised I hadn't heard from her and how little time I had left. I asked her for a response. NOTHING. Seems to be a pattern of hers with other reviewers too. Honestly I'm just lucky to have found someone else to fix my dress. I literally had 12 days left before my wedding, the most important day of my life, when Andrea ghosted me and no other tailors or seamstresses were willing to even look at a garment which another person had worked on. The amazing and wonderful person who was able to help me fix everything with less than two weeks until my wedding had to figure out a way to lengthen the straps with what was left after they were cut so short, remove boning in the bodice which flared out, undo the horribly sewn cinch job Andrea did and correct it, and put in new cups that were the correct type/size.  Bottom line is Andrea didn't have a good understanding of how the dress was meant to fit my body. She took a ridiculously long amount of time to do a seriously bad job with the alterations. Then she decided to attempt to charge me more money to fix it and stopped responding to me when I brought these issues to her attention. Ladies, save yourself a major headache and don't go here!!!

When the guys went and actually placed the order she charged them more than what she quoted us. She started trying to make up reasons and costs that are things she told us were built into the cost originally. Overall, their prices are cheaper than some of the other tux places, but make sure you ask her exactly for a breakdown of what she is going to charge and have it written down so when it comes time to renting the tuxes she doesn't change it on you. "Girl you had me dangling, like a yo-yo on a string, But…read morewith you at the controls I could accomplish anything" (The Kinks) One of the side effects of seeing your body weight yo-yo is that your rings don't fit you like they used to. My Class of 1975 college ring fit me very well in 1975. But as time went by and my weight went up, it became very tight and uncomfortable, so I went to a jeweler and had it enlarged. Well, fast forward to today where my considerable amount of weight loss came with a side effect. Now my ring was so loose if I shook my hand, it would zoom off my finger as though it was connected to a sling shot. On more than one occasion, when I was scraping a dinner plate into the trash, the ring went flying into the pail along with the left-over peas and carrots. Which explains why I popped into Riches Jewelers to see if they could remedy the situation. The owner Rich looked at the ring, saw how the 50-year-old band had been stretched out and was thinning from that original repair and aging, and said he wasn't sure it could be salvaged. He measured my ring finger to get an accurate size and told me he needed to do some investigation before he could give me a repair budget. A week later he called me with a number that seemed fair, so I gave him a go ahead. Well, I picked it up today and I have to tell ya, that guy Rich is a miracle worker. Yes, it fits now. Basically, he rebuilt the back of the band, rounded the old squished oval shape, and even etched in the design lines to match the original. He cleaned and polished it, removed all the dirt and gunk from the crevices, and it looks gorgeous. His price was $125 plus tax. I love my college ring! It looks so nice that years ago I once had a student ask me if it was a Super Bowl ring! Anyway, thank you Rich, he is as honest and pleasant as anyone I've dealt with in a long, long time.
