In the Simsbury Commons Shopping Center, near the Bobs Store, Party City is brand new and has just about everything you could possibly need for entertaining. Seriously, this place is terrific, you can wander through the aisles for a half hour and be super entertained by the incredible selection of everything from costumes to paper goods, to costume jewelry and accessories, masks, caps, balloons, candy, party favors, greeting cards, plastic dishes and cups, and more. Lots of styles, lots of colors, lots of selections, lots of creativity. It definitely fills a big niche in the Farmington Valley!

these are the gloves we purchased PRE-DAMAGED: on the surface, a beautiful product but they broke Instantly #CheapProducts

Katy, our cashier, was great. However. We have purchased a pair of black elbow length Claw attachement costume gloves.... At first, we loved, even adored them, for their noir style. It is now 2am, approx 5 hours after purchase, and TWO CLAW ATTACHEMENTS have fallen off....leaving a gross mark of glue.... Also. There is a rip in the sateen fabric, right by the thumb. And this is after only a quiet night at home with very light use of the gloves. On top of that, the claws themselves appear to be made of actual recycled Plastic Spoons "" " To get to the point.... the suppliers for PARTY CITY in SIMSBURY, CT make products that are C H E A P .. ... In addition, it smelled bad in the glove aisle.

Got a few good pics in before one came undone and floated away

Customers beware ! I threw my parents a surprise 30th anniversary last weekend and had rented a…read moreportable bar from the Wolcott Party Plus for $79.99. I was dealing with a guy named Mike(possibly the manager/owner?) and we agreed that I could try to get the rental returned by either Monday or Tuesday this week, as this rental required a truck to haul it. It was clearly understood that I needed help from my friend that has a truck. Come Saturday, Mike gave me a call and the tone he conveyed was very bossy and I swear he was yelling his words like "I just wanna make sure you understand it needs to be picked up soon!" I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking he's just a little nervous on the timing. We picked it up before 1 with no issue. During the party, the bartender I hired had used the ice storage compartment in this cheap plastic bar, and pointed out that there was a leaky water drain spickett that was faulty and kept leaking water all onto the floor. My bartender had slipped several times and even fell one time. Come Monday, I get a call from Mike yelling at me again saying I was supposed to drop it off on that day, even though he agreed by Tuesday the latest. Come Tuesday, he calls again asking when the bar is being returned. I told him my friend was able to drop it off no later than 2:30pm. I was appalled when he responded "WE CLOSE AT 2!!!" I explained to him that the timing was out of my control and that he understood I do not own a vehicle large enough to get it back before 2pm myself. I told Mike that my friend could drop it off in back, but his pissed off anxiety stricken tone didn't want to hear me out. He said "if you drop it off in back and it gets stolen overnight THATS ON YOU" and "I'm gonna need to inspect it when it does get returned to make sure there's no damage." That's when I told him that there was damage on the leaky spickett before I ever rented this POS and the problems it created at the party, particularly the hired bartender. His voice became timid after that and didn't wanna talk about it as he ended the phone call less than a minute after. To top it all off, my friend called me at 2:15pm saying that it was dropped off but nobody was there and took a picture of where he dropped off the bar in back. I never received a call or text from Mike on Wednesday, and honestly I've never had such a terribly unprofessional experience from a business like this in my entire life. Many of my friends and family couldn't believe how awful this place is and everyone I've shared my experience with agrees that this place should not be in business. I hope Mike turns to God or even Anger Management.

They have large storage facility in the back of their store for all their tables, chairs, etc. The prices of their party supplies inside the store are okay but not the best I have found when visiting in the past. This time around I ordered some tables and chairs. When I went to pick up my chairs/tables they had me drive around back to pick up my rentals. They help you load it up and have you do a final signature. Very friendly staff and they double check to make sure you have everything you ordered. The products were in all fairly good condition. The following day when I returned my rentals the two guys I spoke with were very polite and let me know that I had to finalize the return inside afterwards. Within ten minutes I was all set and on my way home.

I was actually dreading stopping in since I was shopping for a non-Halloween related event and expected it to be mobbed but I didn't have time to order off ol' faithful Amazon prime for my supplies. All of the Party City locations closer to me have closed (RIP West Hartford) so I was glad to have Manchester's store within a 20 minute drive since I desperately needed some platters, pop up disposable garbage bins, and other event essentials. The store wasn't too crowded, given it was a weekday morning, but there were still plenty of last minute Halloween shoppers trying on costumes. The staff member I dealt with was the only annoying part of the experience - she took forever to ring up my merchandise and kept forgetting what she actually rung up. I was in a rush and upon getting home realized that a couple items were on my receipt that she never put in the bag. Come on, you had one job. Luckily they were like a dollar each (plastic tongs) but I needed them and it didn't make sense for me to drive 20 min back to the store. Just a friendly reminder to check your merch and check your receipt - otherwise things get real annoying real fast!

"Turn out the lights, the party's over They say that all…read moregood things must end Call it a night, the party's over" (Willie Nelson) Its becoming more and more difficult for the real deal brick and mortar retail world to compete with Amazon, eBay or a dozen other internet vendors. Maybe shopping from the convenience of your home hasn't completely won the battle, but it sure has its predecessors on the run. The latest example of this trend will be on display on February 28 when the chain that has sold balloons, Halloween costumes, candy, party goods, and housewares for 40 years is closing all of its stores. Discounting the remaining stock has begun, and we noticed something curious about their pricing - it seems to vary from store to store for the same item. We've been chasing some themed bags of candy for a convention and saw lower prices in Simsbury and Manchester than we did in East Hartford. We brought in paperwork from our Manchester purchase and asked if East Hartford would match a price from a store within their own chain. It was quite disappointing that they wouldn't. Oh well, I guess the party really is over.

Sadly everything in this store is disposable. From paper cups, to paper decorations, to balloons, everything is designed to be a one time use item. They have everything, but most of the items can also be found at discount stores for much less. I can only imagine how overpriced (and junky) everything is during Halloween season. I just don't feel right about spending $8.00 on a "disposable trash can". Most of us already have trash cans at home. Please shop smart, and skip the nonsense at this store.
