Maybe shopping from the convenience of your home hasn't completely won the battle, but it sure has its predecessors on the run. The latest example of this trend will be on display on February 28 when the chain that has sold balloons, Halloween costumes, candy, party goods, and housewares for 40 years is closing all of its stores. Discounting the remaining stock has begun, and we noticed something curious about their pricing - it seems to vary from store to store for the same item. We've been chasing some themed bags of candy for a convention and saw lower prices in Simsbury and Manchester than we did in East Hartford. We brought in paperwork from our Manchester purchase and asked if East Hartford would match a price from a store within their own chain. It was quite disappointing that they wouldn't. Oh well, I guess the party really is over.

I went to this Party City store to look for some decorations for a little kid's birthday party…read more They have everything here, the amount of balloons is insane. Sadly everything in this store is disposable. From paper cups, to paper decorations, to balloons, everything is designed to be a one time use item. They have everything, but most of the items can also be found at discount stores for much less. I can only imagine how overpriced (and junky) everything is during Halloween season. I just don't feel right about spending $8.00 on a "disposable trash can". Most of us already have trash cans at home. Please shop smart, and skip the nonsense at this store.
