The shop is very well organized, toys are well kept and wrapped nicely together, and there were a lot of luxury brand clothing, gently used. They coin themselves they are West Hartford's finest children's consignment shop. The pricing was fair for most items (toys, decor, etc), but clothing seemed a bit high. They do have a rewards/loyalty program which I signed up for--I got 10% off my first purchase AND $5 off. Also, if you are local or close by they have 10% off Tuesdays. The young ladies that rang us up were very nice. I'd likely visit again since the shop is very clean. A lot of second hand children shops are cluttered, disorganized, and have a strange smell. I do love Max & Lily's Closet's mission to go green and reuse.

I've had a blast selling off my old baseball cards (my kids don't want them) locally and on-line, A few months ago we also sold off our stamp and coin collection, except for some commemorative Canadian coins minted for the 1988 Calgary Olympics. I contacted KC's Gold, as well as a coin dealer in Toronto to gauge their interest in those Olympic coins. Fred from KC responded right away but his Canadian counterpart never responded after two e-mails. How un-Canadian of him!! Anyway, I visited Fred today to accept his very fair offer. The store is awesome, with baseball cards, coins and vinyl LPs everywhere. Fred was one of the very nicest shop owners I've ever met. He was a real pleasure to work with.

They even have arcades that are blast from the past that patrons come to play classic games on. Arthur is a good guy. They may not have many video games from some video game consoles to sell but they have everything. They do have cool GameCube controllers here. Movies are really pricey though. They don't have too many kids films but those shelves are filled with mainly feature films for everyone of all ages. I like Retro Junk in Manchester better just because they have some really cool stuff that I think are eye appealing and are fun to browse there plus DVDs are somewhat cheaper there.

BouNom Emporium is a small candy shop, offering candy from around the world from Sweden, UK, Spain, and more. There is an awesome variety of gummy candy that you can scoop into your own bag. Raspberry Lemonade Skulls, Watermelon Gummy Sharks, Pineapple Grapefruit Rings, and other fun flavors and shapes. If you love Peach Rings, you would literally be a kid in a candy store here. My husband likes this kind of gummy candy and hand picked a few different types for him to try. Since I visited around Halloween, there were a lot of fun Halloween shapes like vampire teeth and candy corn. I was also really excited to find the Sakura Matcha Pocky. They also had some of my favorite Kit Kats too. This place is truly unique and I haven't been to another candy shop like it.
