It's a nice place for retro fans to browse. I think it's a cool place to explore. They have everything from video games to VHS tapes to Funko Pops. They also sell shirts mimicking nostalgia. They even have arcades that are blast from the past that patrons come to play classic games on. Arthur is a good guy. They may not have many video games from some video game consoles to sell but they have everything. They do have cool GameCube controllers here. Movies are really pricey though. They don't have too many kids films but those shelves are filled with mainly feature films for everyone of all ages. I like Retro Junk in Manchester better just because they have some really cool stuff that I think are eye appealing and are fun to browse there plus DVDs are somewhat cheaper there. read more

Cool staff, very communicative and knowledgeable about their products!!! Entering this store gave me such a nostalgia feeling, they had a cool collection of older collectibles which was fun to look at. I came in here to just check it out since I'm visiting from out of state, but i ended up buying some cards! They were priced about 10% more than retail but it was well worth it! And they limit how much you buy!!! 100 stars out if 100 stars if possible for doing that! I will definitely be checking this place out the next time i visit here. Thanks guys! read more

Stopped in again here late summer and checked out the vintage video games. The older stuff is actually priced decently. The real old stuff (Atari 2600, etc) was marked "buy 2 get 1 free". I think the availability of ROMs online has really driven down the price of older video came media, which is great. Hopefully it doesn't hurt the stores to the point where they can't continue to make a profit though. This one is very well organized, clean, and bright. The employees seemed friendly. Some of the Nintendo demonstration units at the front of the store were working and we played them for a little while. read more

I have been here three times, and purchased 3 vintage gaming systems- some of which I've had now for a few years - still work as if I purchased them Brand New, out of the box. Never had a game cartridge not work; never had a controller not work; and I have yet to buy something that is even, medocre. The store inside is spotless; the staff is nice, knowledgeable, and, by the way the place is organized, and clean, there is prize-winning work ethic being administered there. I will shop nowhere else for my video game needs! The prices are competitive, which astounds me, as well. Many gaming stores I have frequented in the past need to take lessons in how to run a successful business - from this place. There is no smoke-blowing going on here, I am truly impressed, and it takes alot for me to be impressed with a business, especially in this age of "lazy, despondent, automatons," that could care less whether "the hand that feeds them" fails. You will receive all my future business from here on out - and I request lengthening the comic book area of your business, because, it is a passion that I just started to enjoy, again... and for the quality of the prints that you carry, I would be more than willing to pay high prices , in knowing that I will get what I pay for. Very cool store with a huge variety of older games. We found a Mario one that we've been looking for and it was in great condition and under $10! Nice! They had a lot of toys and other games but the real star is the extensive collection of older games with some really hard to find titles. The man who checked us out was super informative too with a lesson on how to tell if Game Cube games are worn or not that we'll definitely remember in the future. Can't wait to stop in again when we're in the area! read more

Great store with lots of selection! Typically I see these sorts of stores with prices just higher than eBay but a lot of the games here were going for just below eBay prices which was a nice change of pace. I would have picked up quite a few things but I was visiting from out of state and didn't have the room in my luggage, nor did I trust that it wouldn't get damaged while traveling. Disappointed for the fact that Gaming Source closed down. I was lost and confused on where I could get my retro gaming fix locally without traveling all the way down to southern Connecticut...Until, Retro Game Plus came along! The place is clean and spacious, selections of games range from Atari all the way to Playstation 4. No stone is left untouched on that store, there are even PC games and imported games!! Which is great since I have been a bit of Japan gaming fix as of lately. What really stand out to me is their selection of toys, they have Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Star Wars, you name it, they have it!! I have been to one in Orange, CT and loved it there. I am just glad there is one that open near by. Highly reccomended. read more

I was having a bad day from attending a funeral and I downed two glasses of wine from On the Border. Needless to say I was pretty sad UNTIL I came into this amazing store where I was promptly greeted by sweet employees one of which complemented my black dress and had an amazing sense of humor. On top of the great service we found the Gameboy color and Pokémon game my partner and I were looking for. Great selection and greater service. :) read more

I've calmed down. I catch the drift here for the most part. It's still true, they don't pay "the most" for your old video games, but they do sell some things really cheap too. The true retro gamer (4th to 7th Generation) will find really cheap games here for the most part. Every system imaginable - NES, Sega Dreamcast, to name a few. And they don't upcharge and arm and a leg for these things. $40 for an NES box is not bad nowadays. So since Gamestop doesn't even sell PS2, GameCube, and XBOX anymore, this is your spot. Retro Game Plus is its own little gem. It's a small shop on the turnpike offering a variety of throwback games, systems, and other nostalgias. The prices themselves may seem heavier at first glance but when you compare to online stores or other avenues, RGP actually holds down very decent pricing. The selection at this location was really impressive, and it was easy to take advantage of the store's Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale on PlayStation & PS2 games. The pricing (for the most part) was average to very good on just about everything, and it was really neat to see some of the gems in the display case... including a copy of Space Megaforce for the SNES! The staff on hand that day (5/30/2015) was quite nice, and they were patient as they pulled all of the game discs I wanted to buy and ran the ones that needed cleaning though their machine. I will definitely be making a return trip in the future; it's about 40 minutes away from where I live, but it's worth the drive. It's great to see a store like this that focuses solely on games, without the corporate feel of a GameStop location. The fact that there's so much retro gaming stuff makes it even better. Amazing store. There is a massive selection to choose from ranging in anything from the early days of gaming to the most recent. They also have a large amount of collectables and trading cards. Over the past couple of years, they even added gundam model kits, many of which I purchased. The staff is super friendly and I've even found myself spending an extra hour or two just talking to them. Once or twice anyear, they have an event called CONNGO, which is like a mini swap meet of games, figures, dvds, etc... I highly recommend being on the lookout for one of these events when they pop up. Actually, I just highly recommend coming here in general. read more
