Mondazzi is definitely a hidden gem! I've been traveling here for years. The mineral and specimen selections are insane. They have a large selection of natural bead strands, jewelry, books, etc. Anything you're looking for, you'll most likely be able to find it there. The place has a wide variety of items to choose from. The only issue I had was the price of the crystals. They were rather high priced for even small pieces. Also the place is inside a warehouse industrial park with no AC. I shop local for my crystals as I like to support local businesses. They have a large book section that is REALLY nice and the staff goes above and beyond to help you. I will go back again as maybe I missed on the good priced crystals as the shop is very popular. If this store were closer to me, I'd be broke! What a collection of rocks! So much to see and choose from. Maybe they don't have everything, but there are lots of nice pieces. They also have jewelry...every type, size, price. A bead room, in which they have classes (I'll need to look into those.) Books, clothes, incense, singing bowls, palm stones, all of it. I am in awe by the expansiveness and plethora of items for purchase. I immediately felt good going in there. I was able to purchase many crystals to make for bracelets for friends and family. I also picked up some other items that I love. The staff have been extremely helpful. I even called about clarifying some beads on a bracelet I bought and the staff really took the time to explain. Mondazzi books is a hidden little gem in Windsor. Two friends and I stopped by to try their salt room for an hour. It was a little better suited for groups or two but we had a great time relaxing and taking it all in. Definitely a nice experience to try. However, the true surprise was the shop! I've returned a few times since my initial review, and this great place has become even better. They have considerably expanded their stock of crystals and made the space much more inviting. But my reason to go is the collection of overstock esoteric books, which are offered at half off the cover price. They also sell tarot decks, but generally at market or collector prices. So surprised to find a place like this in the middle of Windsor, CT. I was working as a temp across the street and my co-workers mentioned that I could get a salt rock lamp here, and that's what I did! The prices are *very* reasonable and you can easily spend an hour or more here just looking at the awesome collection of crystals, stones, jewelry, books, and other memorabilia. I visited this store yesterday and let me just say, as good as the reviews for this bookstore are, my expectations were exceeded when I got there. This store is HUGE!! And it's so much more than just a book store. They have crystals and stones, beads and jewelry making supplies, candles, candle holders, oils, incense, oils/tart warmers, and of course books. I spent hours in there! And I gladly would have spent more time but they were closing! There's just so much to see. And they have incredible deals! So many books are only 99¢ and any book priced at $4.99 is BOGO. And I was told that any book without a special price label is 50% off the retail price listed on the back of the book! Another cool thing that they offer is, let's say you find a book for $4.99, but can't find another book you want for $4.99 to take advantage of the BOGO, they will give you a voucher good for a free $4.99 book on your next visit! How awesome is that! The employees were so sweet and helpful, too! The owner introduced himself to me and we chatted for a while. When I told him how happy I was to find a book by Alan Watts that I had been searching for he then told me that he had a few more by him that weren't out on display yet and grabbed them for me! Exceptional customer service. There aren't many stores like this because it's not like your regular bookstore. The books range from metaphysics, philosophy, eastern religion, holistic/alternative medicine and so much more. I really can't wait to go back! Oh, and just a quick tip. It is a little hard to find. If you use GPS and pull into the parking lot, it's the furthest door from the entrance of the lot. It took me a good 5 mins to figure it out so hopefully that helps anyone who reads this! read more

After reading reviews I'm sure I went to a different place. Had the gems rocks salts crystals etc. Checked them online. Wanted to see the items in person. Couldnt find any of the books we saw online and were looked at about 5 times before even a hi too. Floor is uneven. Pretty much ignored the entire time. Then we go to leave a guy comes out of the office and pretty much blocks the exits as he talked about cds before he walked off. On way out a woman walked in and was greeted with loud hi how are you. I really enjoyed my visit to this store. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have a lot of jewelry making supplies and many types of crystals to choose from (I was so happy to be able to buy crystals from a local store and not be forced to drive out of Hartford county or shop online). And the prices are great, very reasonable. I spent about an hour browsing the store and I didn't have time to see everything that they offered. Even though there's a lot to see, the store has a very calm environment and I felt comfortable browsing for a while. this place was a great find. i love my salt lamp from mondazzis, and when the bulb wasn't working i went back and they replaced it, no charge. They have really unique and beautiful jewelry, and for an extremely reasonable price too.
