After explaining to him a few times the the INDIVIDUAL packs of Pokémon cards are $3.99 NOT the entire container holding the lot of them for that low price- he then moved on to the small items offered for sale besides comic books. I was originally proud of thinking of this local, small business as a quick stop to pick up cards or a comic for my son- which he has already asked to back this am- one day after first going. So my original thought was true, but then I became hooked after perusing the Game of Thrones comic book series. And then after talking about how covid delayed the reprint of the 1982 French comic book Le Transperceneige (original content source for the 2013 movie and 2020 tv series snowpiercer) - I know I will be back when that becomes available. I also love it when other customers become involved in the discussion. It's a lovely little shop to geek out in peace!

"Two of us riding nowhere Spending someone's hard-earned…read morepay" (Lennon and McCartney) Our "de-cluttering the house" mission continues, and today my quest took me to Two Guys Comics and Collectibles in Canton, CT with a white shopping bag in hand. Inside the bag were some Simpson's memorabilia I was looking to sell, namely (don't laugh) 50 Simpsons pogs and two empty boxes of Simpsons cereal. For the curious, they would be Bart Simpson Peanut Butter Chocolate Crunch and Homer's Cinnamon Donut. I met with Carl (one of the two Two Guys), and found him to be a very nice down to earth young man. He looked at what I brought in, and did some pricing research while I looked around. Two Guys is quite the destination for pop culture nerds who can't get enough of comics, DVDs for a buck, collectible figurines (Star Wars and Marvel are popular), graphic novels, games and a treasure chest of cool stuff. One cool thing I learned was that the Two Guys are hosting a Community Day tomorrow to come in and schmooze, with free comics to kids under ten. I had done some research on what my stuff had recently sold for on-line, and then cut that number in half to approximate what I was looking for.  I was thrilled when Carl came back with the exact same number! So my first visit and transaction with Two Guys was 100% pleasurable and satisfactory. As we continue to thin out our 35+ years of accumulated stuff, I suspect I'll be returning to see those Two Guys again.

Stem/educational items, toys for all ages, games, dress up/costumes, model cars & aircraft, nice train sets/accessories/landscapes for the train lovers. Science kits, environmental science kits, edible science kits.... Kits for budding engineers & architects... a great way to start tapping into your child's natural abilities early on to nurture possible career interests. It just might save a bundle on college if they have a good feel for the type of career they may enjoy. There is a section of adult games in addition to children's games & family games. Near limitless back issue collection and almost every current series from Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, Vertigo, IDW, and more. If you decide to open an account with them (ten dollar deposit, and they take a list of series you follow and put new release issues aside for you, with a minimum one pickup per month) you get great perks like 10 percent off all new comics. And I believe trade paperbacks too. My favorite thing about this store is they put together packets of consecutive issues for both new and old series. Really helpful if you want to dive into a series that started awhile ago and you don't have to hunt down single issues. Recently grabbed the first 8 issues of East of West because it was all there ready to go. But they put together old and new stuff. AvX, Brightest Day, Generation X, X-Statix, Civil War, tons of complete miniseries 80s-current. And their Christmas-New Years sale is out of this world.

Best Comic Shop in The Area! I've been going to Rogue Comics…read moresince its initial opening in 2010, and I must say, the place is like fine wine- It gets better with age! The owner Mike is one of the most pleasant people to talk to and his seemingly endless knowledge of comic books and generally nerdy things is rather refreshing. You can tell he loves what he does and puts care into making sure every customer he serves ends up enjoying their visit. Want a certain comic book or piece of paraphernalia that is unavailable at the moment? Mike will offer to order it for you. He is helpful to people of all ages and doesn't get enough credit for the work that he does. I truly hope that Rogue Comics stays open and thrives in its business for years to come.
