Thank you 2nd Alarm Comics

We were met by a very nice young lady. We inquired if they received the Justice League Vs. Godzilla Vs. Kong indicated they did have them if we just looked around they would be available in a few minutes we puttered around the shop and window and made a list of ideal people for Christmas gifts. When an hour had passed and they did not approach us even though we were the only four people in the store we asked again. The Owner rudely stated he had them but he was not putting them out until later. Fine, we could come back I asked very politely if he could please give us a ballpark time as we are in from out of state and wanted to get them for my son and nephew as gifts they are Autistic and had talked about this comic book for days. He very loudly and rudely just kept repeating later. I'm not sure if I'm a woman or if he's just a jerk to everyone. We found them at 2nd Alarm Comic 205 Foxon Road North Branford, CT, US 06471. They are Amazing! They held them while we drove the 45 minutes to get to them and gave the boys additional free comics.

Super fast response to message. Had the venom comics I needed at a great price for my quarantine read. Shipped fast. Will do business with them again An can't wait to check out store in person when the world opens up again.

Sarge's Comics and Games

I sometimes head up to this area for business, so you can imagine a Geek like me was absolutely delighted to see a comic shop like Sarge's in the area. This area has definitely seen better days, so the few businesses that have survived over the years shine like a beacon of hope against economic ennui. Sarge's Comics and Games is one of these businesses. Sarge's Comics and Games lives up to its name. The width of the store front already gives you a strong sense of the size of the store, but when you enter it is surprising how deep the store goes. The store is an exercise in paradoxical organization. Everything is very neat and labeled. There are cases of action figures and statues alongside shelves of comic books and long boxes containing back issues. In no way is the store "messy", however the arrangement of the items is somewhat random. There are toys in the front along with apparel. When you get to the comics, the newer issues are way towards the back, but there is a small section to the right where back issues of the old Shogun Warriors and Transformers titles from Marvel reside. As you walk through the store and swing around back towards the front you come across a gaming section. There is a robust gaming schedule on display in the front and I imagine the gaming nights are quite exciting here (I came on a sleepy afternoon). All that said, the staff is continuously cleaning things up, moving things around. They're not surfing the web behind the counter. Every time I come here they are busy keeping the store organized and clean. This store reminds me a lot of the old Forbidden Planet comic book shop in downtown Manhattan. No, not the current one (that I love). The old one that was across the street that was a bit musty and seemed to have a dusty basement feel to it. There was an air of authenticity to the white walls and the smell of paper and it is that ambience that Sarge's manages to also have. Most comic shops I grew up with were like this, so I was instantly in love with this place the first time I visited. There is no doubt you will find a wide variety of geeky items here. If you're looking for comics, you're solid. Gaming supplies? Not a problem. You may need help if you're looking for specific back issues and the vintage toys are hit or miss. Sarge's is one of my must-go-to stops whenever I visit this area. I'm very happy to see over five years after I discovered it the shop is still around.

It can be overwhelming when you walk in but the staff is nice and helpful. I found exactly what I was looking for without any issues.

I've been going to Sarge's since it was a few doors over and in a much smaller space.
