Do not sleep on this candy store! I wish I was able to take pics but with a toddler in hand mesmerized by this place there was no way I was whipping out my phone to pause the fun and amazement my whole family had. Every candy here is curated from all over the world. You can find amazing Swedish candies to Italian hard candies. Everything is so organized and so fun to look at! It was so fun to ask questions about where all the candy comes from and even try a piece to see what to get! You can scoop your own bag and feel all the nostalgia or buy a prepared bag or individual pieces. There is so much to choose from it can definitely be overwhelming but the woman at the counter was so patient with us and gave us some really awesome suggestions! My daughter loved their play station and it was a serious relief she was occupied with that so I could focus on finding some goodies for the fam. We opted for a variety of their sour Swedish candy and a bag of Italian hard candies. We even got this gigantic gummy worm and my daughter was just mesmerized at us pulling it out of the container! Though it's definitely pricey you are getting high quality candy from all over the world. This shop is incredibly unique. You do get a discount if you shop at their bakery first so definitely do that because I'm telling you are about to spend a lot because everything is just so good! Definitely will be here again! read more

When you first walk in, you are met with the most delightful sugary smell! The staff was so sweet and welcoming--and since we mentioned we came from the BouNom Bakery, we got a discount off of our purchase. BouNom Emporium is a small candy shop, offering candy from around the world from Sweden, UK, Spain, and more. There is an awesome variety of gummy candy that you can scoop into your own bag. Raspberry Lemonade Skulls, Watermelon Gummy Sharks, Pineapple Grapefruit Rings, and other fun flavors and shapes. If you love Peach Rings, you would literally be a kid in a candy store here. My husband likes this kind of gummy candy and hand picked a few different types for him to try. Since I visited around Halloween, there were a lot of fun Halloween shapes like vampire teeth and candy corn. I was also really excited to find the Sakura Matcha Pocky. They also had some of my favorite Kit Kats too. This place is truly unique and I haven't been to another candy shop like it. I loved the fact that they weren't wall to wall full of candy because it gets overwhelming. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the Avon ares. read more

The cutest ever!! Loved the assortment of candy and the staff was so helpful. Their decor for Valentine's Day is absolutely adorable! We don't have any allergies, but was so great to see how accommodating they are for nut allergies with signs and special nut-free tongs. read more

Wow! Why did I take so long to check this place out. If you've ever had swedish gummies you definitely want to make sure you visit Bounom Emporium. This selection here is absolutely amazing. I was told that flavors do rotate so if there's something you like, you may want to get more of it because they might not be there on your next visit. This is the candy store we're gummy candy dreams are made of. My older daughter and I had a great time picking out old favorites and trying some new soon to be favorites. Everything was fresh too I will say this place is not for the chocolate lover. I don't think I saw one chocolate item. But that wasn't a problem for me Love my swedish gummies!! So if you are looking to try Bubs or Skulls they have many options. read more

BouNom Emporium - Bag of Goodies - Candy Stores Near Me - Avon, Connecticut

If you're a fan of BouNom Bakery, you will be a fan of BouNom Emporium. Khamla, the owner, recently opened up a gilded age candy shop right across the parking lot from there. They sell retro toys and candies from Japan, Korea, and Europe. It's a cute little shop that has a small silo connected to it. They did a wonderful job with the decor and colors inside and outside. When you first walk in, on the left there are an assortment of candies that you can scoop into a bag. You pay by the weight. The candies range from chocolate covered gummy bears to gummy cracked eggs. There was a table with more goodies. In the back you will find the toys and more treats. There was a room located in the silo that had a bench around it; it reminded me of a garden. Khamla was at the cash register and was super nice as always. She gave my son a couple of candies, on the house. She even had a shelf full of toys for the kids to play with. I was definitely like a kid in a candy shop! I have a sweet tooth and I love unique treats. The candies were so good; I loved the chocolate covered marshmallow and gummy bears and the banana candies. My family and I are definitely a fan and look forward to going back. read more

"This is the day of the expanding man" (Steely Dan) The highly regarded and award winning BouNom Bakery has now expanded into the candy business with the opening of the BouNom Emporium. You'll find it on the lower level of the Riverdale Farms shopping center right next to the entrance to the Avon Deli (look for the big silo). Their beautiful and totally adorable store sells candy from all over Europe, Japan and Korea, has a cute little toy section, a play area for kids, and a few Asian grocery items like Buldak ramen from South Korea. We went to their display of chocolates and assorted candies that are sold for $26 a pound and picked out some chocolate covered almonds, some chocolate covered marshmallow buttons, and a chocolate buttercrunch square. That haul totaled 0.385 pounds for $10.01. When their charming and helpful attendant saw me eyeballing the South Korean ramen, she warned me they were spicy, which just made me even more determined to buy one! I decided on their Spicy Chicken Curry ($6.55) and I can't wait to try it. Our visit to the Emporium could not have been more pleasant. We can't wait to bring the grand kids over for a visit. read more

I've learned to identify talented people, and keep track of their upcoming projects. For example, I always try to know what Lin Manuel Miranda is working on (Have you heard his 2024 "Warriors" collab album?). Same thing with Khamla from BouNom bakery. BouNom's bakery draws from Asian and European influences, and it's one of the very best bakeries in CT. So when I learned that there would be a BouNom Emporium focusing on candy and toys, located nearby in the same shopping area in Avon, I planned to go ASAP. Not surprisingly, BouNom Emporium curates candy from Korea, Japan and Europe. If there's something cool, viral and/or hard to find, they may already have it, or it may be coming soon. Their recommendations included Mochi Gummies. They were a hit with the household. Other recommendations included the viral Swedish chewy candies. They're available by the pound. Also very cool and enjoyable. The store is cute like you would expect from Team BouNom. And you will appreciate the expertise as you explore the Store. I expect success for BouNom Emporium. 5 Stars read more

One of my favorite bakeries opened a candy store right across the street, how could I not love them? Visited during the soft opening and can tell it'll be a great place for those wanting to grab something new and fun to satisfy their sweet tooth. This place definitely is pricey but worth it as the only Swedish candy in the area. If you haven't had Swedish candy you will be pleasantly surprised as the flavor and quality is way above American candy. This place is very cute, clean, and organized. I can't recommend enough as there are so many options and the quality is worth the price. All your favorite options are here so you can try as little or much of it as you like. Staff was very friendly and answered all my questions- Definitely a try for candy lovers!!! Recommend read more

Best candy store in the Hartford area! IN LOVE with the swedish candy options there. A bit pricy but the quality is worth it. I even like this place better than the BonBon candy store in NYC. Employees very friendly. read more

We visited BouNom Emporium one weekend after an elementary school basketball game and brought the whole team along to check it out. Super delicious. Best bakery in the valley. Very flavorful. The owner is very generous and kind as well.

I just had one of the greatest shopping experiences coming to this shop! Cutest shop and the sweetest employees with the biggest welcoming smiles. The owner made our experience so lovely and personal. She took the time to explain every candy and her favorites as well. I love that they also have a section for local artists to sell their products. Can't wait to try the bakery as well. So great!! read more

Amazing exotic treats, owner and staff twice as amazing. I will definitely be back and bring Banh Mi!

I love Swedish candy, so I drove out to treat my mom and as we walked into the emporium we were very excited to see the amount of candy you had but we weren't greeted and treated very rude from the moment we walked in. The cashier shot a look over at us almost as if we were disrupting her. When we walked in and were the only ones in the store, there were two employees and no one said a word to us. It's our first time there so I had to ask how they operate. As we went around the store neither one of the employees spoke to us until we asked a question, I asked what their favorites were and when I got excited about one of them the other employee laughed. I quickly finished my order and as I was heading to the register more people came in, a group of young girls and they were greeted instantly as they came in. the cashier perked up and welcomed them in, asked if they had any questions. the other black employee then showed them where to get bags the scales around the shop etc. My mom and I were nothing but nice but werent greeted and treated very unprofessionally. Not sure if it's because we were two black women walking in verses a group of young white girls but your staff should welcome everyone that comes into their store. We spent money and time, we should be respected and not discriminated against. You need to do better, that's unacceptable. Great selection of swedish candy but your employees need better training to greet everyone no matter who they are. read more
