When I stepped in, I realized it was a Hallmark store on steroids. I'm not saying I was disappointed, just wrong. The store has many great items. Fashionable clothing, trinkets, gadgets, games, books, cards & feminine notebooks sprinkled in between. I did make a purchase & found some interesting items that I may return for later. I said I was just browsing. But the same employee circled back to me several more times to say she liked what I picked out, suggested other things, etc. I wanted to say "Seriously, just let me look around in peace!" It's packed full of books and bookish merch, but so well set, there is plenty of room to explore. In fact, the closing bell will ring on Monday January 27, when the doors will be locked for good. It's always a sad thing to see something we've been so familiar with for such a long time go away. We visited yesterday and the store is half emptied of stock and many of their fixtures and display cases were marked "sold". We saw some very deep discounts of up to 50-80% off on greeting cards, gift wrap, clothing, stuffed animals, home decor, ornaments and collectibles. We picked up a few sympathy cards reduced from $2 to $0.50 and a very nice Hallmark Pumpkin and Brown Butter candle reduced from $19.99 to $5. They have a pretty good deal on random greeting cards and envelopes at ten for a buck. So, if you want to go and check out the few remaining bones at the store, now's your chance. But be warned, you have just six days left to do so.
