The atmosphere is very lively with all of the tables, chairs and booths brightly decorated and traditional music playing. They've got some pretty nice staff working there too. In our most recent visit I was dying to try the soft serve margaritas that have been all the rage lately. I ended up with the flight and I have to say that they lived up to the hype. They pretty much taste like soft sherbet ice cream with some booze in them, making for a refreshing treat on a hot summer day. The menu is pretty good sized with a variety of options. We usually like to get an order of queso dip for our chips. I've only ever gotten a vegetarian enchilada option at Nuevo Vallarta but this time I decided to try their birria in the form of the birria pizza, shredded beef and cheese sandwiched between two large tortillas and served with consommé. It's essentially a very large birria quesadilla, but a very tasty one at that. The birria beef was tender and filling, though I feel like the consommé was missing something. The portion of the meal was huge, I only ended up eating about half of it and boxed up the rest to take home. You really can't go wrong with Nuevo Vallarta. Good drinks, good food, nice staff and all in all a fun atmosphere.

Huge oversized painted themed chair outside for photos. The benches inside are gorgeous too. Everyone was attentive to get us seated. 1) they bring you chips and salsa immediately which was amazing! And so great salsa! 2) portions were large! I got wings which were so hot and yummy (mango habanero) and my bf got tacos. The tacos are with the meat and veggies and the rice and beans come on the side which is nice. He was sad no cabbage was in them , but too full to be worried at the end. The cheese dip was boring plain cheese so may skip that i. The future. 3) beers in 18oz or 30oz! The soft serve margaritas were life!! They bring a mini shovel and big straw! They all have their corresponding fruits in top. I'll get just the pineapple one in the future! Perfect for a hot day!

The staff was very nice and our foods came out pretty quick, while you wait you are served chips and salsa, their salsa was so good! We ordered the following: - empanadas (chicken, beef, & pork) My favorite was probably the pork and cheese one, had the best flavor second is beef. I normally like chicken but was my least fave of the 3. - quesabirrias; Birria tacos w/ consommé + rice & beans So good, great flavor throughout, beef cooked perfectly. Even the refried beans had a great consistency, not overcooked and heavy. - Birria quesadilla w/ consommé + rice + Very cheesy good. The birria consommé was used and dripped into every bite! our meal here was great, felt great, perfect fullness without going overboard! Nice happy ride back down to Boston!

We arrived about an hour before closing & had no issues getting a table for two. Shortly after receiving utensils and the menus, we were given complimentary chips & salsa! The salsa was tasty & has a nice kick to it. I found it very additive to eat with the chips. We ended up ordering these dishes to try: - empanadas (chicken, beef, & pork) - quesabirrias; Birria tacos w/ consommé + rice & beans - Birria quesadilla w/ consommé + rice + salad OMG, everything tasted AMAZING! All of our dishes came PIPING hot, including the consommé dips for the Birria tacos and quesadilla. The quesabirrias were my favorite & star of the show for me. They were perfectly crispy, seasoned well, & I also loved how light (yet still flavorful) the consommé was! This came with rice & beans and let me tell you... I normally don't even eat refried beans but I couldn't help myself today because I find that refried beans can be too thick & sometimes burnt. This was not the case today though! Also paired super well with the rice & a little lime. The Birria quesadilla was yummy. It was loaded with lots of meat & cheese. Great portion sizes! For our appetizer, we ordered one of each empanada protein option they had: one chicken, one beef, and one pork. I didn't have a favorite empanada because honestly they were all really tasty! Full of flavor & came loaded with cheese. I will definitely be back again the next time I'm in Manchester, NH! Service was wonderful, restaurant was clean, & food was perfect. Highly recommend trying El Rincon Zacatecano if you find yourself in the area ;)

Delicious refillable chips & salsa to munch on. We all had cocktails that were delicious. I enjoyed several Margaritas (I upgraded the tequila). My first complaint is that they were served in plastic cups-that's one of my pet peeves. I had a Fajita Quesadilla with chicken from the special menu that was very good. It came with rice & refried beans. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. We were not rushed and the service was fine. My second complaint-we were not able to get separate checks. This made it very difficult to figure out what everyone owed. Three people paid with credit cards-the rest of us in cash. We all agreed that we would not return because of this major inconvenience. This is too bad because the food & drinks were really good. The atmosphere is typical for a Mexican restaurant. Plenty of seating in several rooms and the bar area. There was a DJ playing music. There is plenty of parking in a shared lot. I guess if you don't mind my complaints, La Carreta is an acceptable place to go for Mexican food.

The chips and salsa were complimentary which was nice but the chips were cold and the salsa although good tasted like jarred salsa. I ordered a mojito which honestly was the best thing I had. Hubs thought they were ok. Neither of us liked their homemade corn tortillas which had a really weird texture and a not so good flavor . We were happy we only bought lunch portions and definitely wont be back.

Full disclosure this is for takeout so maybe it's a better experience inside. Speaking of inside, the ambience of the restaurant was fine. Not too crowded but a handful of patrons. The decor was cute and the music was a nice touch. I ordered a combination plate with a cheese enchilada and a chicken taco with a hard shell. I selected refried beans and Mexican rice as my sides. The sides were tasty. The enchilada was fine but the cheese tasted like American cheese, and the taco was disappointing. I expected a homemade fried hard shell but instead It was something from the grocery store and hardly filled with chicken. A homemade taco shell and more filling would go along way. Plus adding toppings like sour cream and pico-I believe those could be added for an extra cost. My husband ordered the fajita nachos. He said they were good but I was a little thrown off by the American cheese sauce instead of the more traditional melted jack and cheddar cheese for nachos. I really enjoyed their chips and salsa. Check this place out for yourself!
