Got to try Bruce's Place when we went to visit the Joshua Tree brewery. They make a really good brisket sandwich. I was very impressed because catered style bbq can be very hit or miss. If you are staying in the Yucca Valley or Joshua Tree area and are looking for a place to order catered food, this is your place. I went to Yucca Valley for a wedding, we VRBO'd a home for a group of 8. We saw that there were not many choices for restaurants in the area. We were already paying a premium for the house and didn't want to travel around for a place to eat each night. I pre-ordered from Bruce's place and it was the best decision. We ordered the Taco Bar for one night & then the BBQ for the next night. Even ordered hot dog's & hamburgers for the picky kids. They loved them. They gave us condiments, plenty of BBQ sauces, lots of homemade chips & salsas. The taco shells were homemade, everyone raved about the food & we even had plenty to take home. Their online ordering was easy. I spoke with their coordinator several times on the phone and their email communication was almost immediate. My husband and I had a very intimate wedding ceremony in Joshua Tree National Park. We found Joshua Tree to be pretty limited when it came to catering events like ours, especially during COVID-19. When we found Bruce's Catering a huge weight was lifted!! Perfect fit for our budget and food vision for our wedding. They provided DELICIOUS food for our reception! We only had 10 guests, but it felt like an elevated meal, which EVERYONE raved about. They were SO easy to work with in the months leading up to the event. They worked with us to create our own menu. I will have to agree with the other reviewer. Bruce's place does a lot of the chamber and local business catering since he is a "local" but the food is always average at best, cold bland brisket, etc. I often hear it called cafeteria food. There are far better options we bring up from Palm Springs when we need catering at our JT home. If you have no money to spend this might be your best option if you are tired of greasy tacos. However for a few hundred bucks more you will get three times the quality from other options. He does get an extra star because he is always pleasant when I see him. If you taste the food you will agree most of these reviews are from other JT "locals". read more

I ordered catering for 15 of us for a medium sized party from Bruce's Place. They were on time, set everything up perfectly, and brought all the plates and utensils we could possibly need. They were on top of everything! There was SO MUCH food! The only thing I would have changed was the quantity of sides vs main meat items. We ran out of beans and mashed potatoes before even getting close to finishing the ribs and chicken. That being said, everything was tasty, convenient, and for a great value. This place does not deserve the star it gets. The school pays for this soup to be free for students, and this is what I found in the vegetable soup. It had rotted potatoes, and they even put the stem of the squash in the soup. Just because it is free to students, does not mean he has the right to put his waist in it. I have also found that the food he sells for his catering, sometimes is not all gone so he brings it back and resells it again or puts it into other specials at the CMC Cafeteria he works out of for the school. read more

I'm not a local but they were very helpful in giving me information I needed for my events ( venue contacts, equipment rentals and such.). They're prices are lower than large chain catering companies which was shocking because their food was better and so was the setup. I highly recommend them to anyone in the area looking for catering.
