2nd time at Jorge's was almost a carbon copy of the first . They got the order wrong and even questioned us as if we had made a mistake. A big difference in tacos and enchiladas. They made a new plate and in the mean time the other plate of food was room temperature when other order came. The waitress was in a hurry to leave and even commented that she was ready to get off in 25 minutes and had plans. She gave us our bill and said no hurry but came back to the table 3 times each time looking at the bill. Food: I got the Baja snapper tacos and they were delicious! The fish was fresh and cooked perfectly. Not dry at all which is a possibility with ordering fish tacos. The guacamole was freshly made which paired well with the perfectly salted chips. Service: The service was lovely. The hostess was kind enough to ask my sister if the table she was going to sit us at would be roomie enough for my mother who's in a wheelchair. The server was in top of our order and came by frequently. The manager? even stopped by to ask how things were and apologized for the delay of food even though it didn't seem like it was taking long at all. Ambiance: I love the decorum. The inside was very nice but the area we sat in was better. I believe it could be a patio if they opened the doors/windows. Plenty of sunlight which is a big win for me. I loved this place! I've been here about 8 times since their grand opening & went this afternoon for my birthday dinner. But sadly, i will NOT be returning. I witnessed the General Manager (Maritza is what they told me her name was) yelling a young girl at the host stand! it made my family & I very uncomfortable & the young got very red & started crying & ran to the restroom to i assume cry it out! Shame on you Maritza! Talked to my server about it, from what she told me Maritza & the rest of the managers & higher ups speak to the workers & underage workers like that often. I love Jorges & Georges. But i will stick to Georges. i wrote a facebook post about this incident so people can know how these managers treat their employees! read more

Went in today around lunch time 12:30-1pm. We had Jazmine as our server, she gave us exceptional service and the food was so good and tasty especially the barbacoa tacos with rice and beans! After we finished our meals we sat and had a few drinks, enjoying our visit. Durning this time we watch a man come out of the kitchen and start yelling and cussing (multiple F bombs) at an another employee regarding food I believe. I stopped the server to make sure she was okay, I was then given the knowledge that this man was a manager and owner of this establishment. What a great experience! Me and the fam went to eat dinner here for the first time this evening. Mexican food is my fav and I'm pretty picky when it comes to where I choose to go. First off, the atmosphere and restaurant itself were very nice, and very clean. Our server was extremely attentive and all around great. We got the queso, and it was excellent. So good that I couldn't get everyone to stop eating it so I could get some. I ordered the fajitas and they were the best fajitas I have had in an extremely long time. I order fajitas everywhere I go and Chuys has had the top spot for me for a very long time, well NOT ANYMORE. My wife got the Carnitas street tacos and raved about them. The kids, well they got kids meals and said they were good. I have heard they have great margaritas and mixed drinks, I don't drink when I go out to eat (I tend to get a little rowdy). Jorge's location is new , spacious and clean. The server was kind. My husband had the Chicken Hatch Chile Enchiladas. He says it was hard to taste the hatch chile. Too many strong spices. He could not finish eating it. I had the same experience with my Cheese and Chile con carne Enchiladas, but I did like the basmati cilantro and corn rice and the black beans. The flour tortillas are made there fresh. They were soft and delicious. The salsas they serve with the chips are both delicious. The green salsa was a little on the spicy side, but worth having again. We may go back and try another dish, but definitely not the enchiladas. read more

Although we had a large selection of dishes at our party table, we noticed that all of the dishes lacked a distinct flavor profile. The frozen margaritas ( mango and strawberry) were awful . So watered down tasted like almost nothing . Chicken tortilla soup was good , tasty but will say strongly tomato based . Chicken flautas were delicious though I will say they were more like taquitos than flautas . Al pastor tacos , rice and beans were good . Meat was good but tortillas were not great . The server was okay, but the ones bringing the food not okay, didn't bring out all of our food so I had to tell our waitress. Definitely different than the other George's restaurants. I think I was expecting it to be more casual and traditional tex-mex. However, the chips and salsa were great. The Jorge's ranch dip was very bland, wouldn't recommend. I got the hatch chile chicken enchiladas, the flavors were really good but I didn't love the rice (again I was expecting tex-mex). For dessert we got the soapapillas and they were very yummy, you could tell the tortillas were homemade. All in all clean restaurant and good service, but isn't my first choice for Mexican food in Waco. read more

Service was nice, but the food is awful outside of the tres amigos dip. I ordered the shrimp tacos and the food nor plate was hot. The shrimp was like frozen cocktail shrimp and rice tasted more Mediterranean than Mexican. In addition, I don't love that iconic George's just changed the owner's name to "Jorge's" and decided they could make good Mexican food because they researched it for a year. Greeters/check in staff are not very good at their job. Food is excellent and the service has always been great for the half dozen times we've visited. However, we never get seated even close to our reservation time. The folks at the front struggle and last night they failed miserably. We had a reservation for 12, Baylor graduation. And our friends had a similar reservation. We called and were told no problem seating us next to each other. Half of our group was seated 45 MINUTES after our reservation time. The other half an hour late. We had family that left because of health reasons due to the heat and waiting to eat. Never once were we offered water or anything. I see from the website that one of the owners was on site. He did nothing. Not even an apology. So, from my experience, if you are a large group you are better off finding another place for your group. Sadly this place is just not worth it on many levels.
