Didn't wait too long with reservation. Maybe 10 min. Chips and salsa came quickly. Drinks, kids meals and apps came out pretty slow but there wasn't a spot in the parking lot so that's understandable and I wasn't upset. Queso, quac and corn dip trio was great. Drinks were good too. Kids quesadillas had no chicken and not even enough cheese to cover half of the tortilla but kids didn't mind. They gladly replaced quesadillas to make them chicken like we ordered. Salad was good and the added chicken was amazing! Burger was too spicy for me but not their fault. Good meat, great bun, and plenty cheese. The menu said it came with 2 sides but it really only comes with one so I had to pay $4 for the extra. The Brussels only had maybe 3 chopped up so it was small but they were really good! The veggies had a great garlic butter on them and were really good. The cake was complimentary because of the quesadillas and it was amazing and I'm not a sweets persons worth the try for sure. The wait didn't bother me, the wait for the food didn't bother me. The quesadillas were fixed promptly but the only thing I didn't love was that I had to pay for the extra side even though the menu says it comes with 2 sides. I think if there is a discussion and the menu says that it should be honored. As a business owner I wouldn't ever argue over something so small and cheap but I did pay for it. I just didn't care for the principle of it. That wasn't enough to keep me from coming back at all. Overall I would say 4 out of 5 stars because it's new and they are working through things so I will give them grace for that. But I didn't like the principle of the menu mistake. The restaurant is very nice inside. They sat us at some tall tables with tall chairs. The chairs were a bit wobbly and difficult to get into. My daughter in law is short so really difficult for her. Fortunately the super nice waitress, Kamery, let us move. First we got the big Os which are as refreshing as George's. We got the Tres dip appetizer. On that we chose 2 quesos and the street corn. All of this was good. I really liked the street corn. I ordered chicken fajitas. They were good. Not a fan of the pickled onions though. The corn tortillas were super good. My DIL got hatch chili chicken enchiladas. They were very cilantro-ish. Not something I would order again myself. The rice was a real nice texture but again very cilantro-ish. I enjoyed trying new things but it was mostly a bit too different for me. It is certainly worth a try though and so nice to have something new that is so nice inside and family owned. Over all, a nice experience. The service all around was great. Everyone helped one another. The older guy (family friend) bringing chips to the table was just a joy. The ambiance is fantastic they did a great job making it feel authentic. I've been able to try a few cocktails and they've been very good and I'd feel good trusting any cocktail on the menu. As far as the food goes it is good. I'll be honest I've been a few times and I don't think I've found my thing yet. I had the seafood enchiladas once which I don't think I'd get again, filling was a little dry. I've also tried some of the other enchiladas and they are nothing special, but don't get me wrong they are still good. My wife had an ancho chili ceasar salad and green chili chicken soup and said she'd go back just for the soup. Overall we'll definitely come back. Great experience and local. read more

Finally a restaurant in Waco with amazing chips, salsa and queso. I will go as far as to say that if they served the green salsa cold instead of warm (yes, I know it's more authentic served warm) this would be the best holy trinity of Mexican table snacks in the entire state. For anyone from Austin that remembers Trudy's Tex-Mex circa the late 1990's this is very similar in style of both the red and green salsas (nice mixture of heat with a bit of sweetness) and the luscious queso blanco. Chefs kiss! Enjoyed the variety of unique takes on margaritas and other cocktails. It's not easy to pick one, which gives good reason to come back. Loved that they take reservations as it was super busy when we arrived on a Wednesday night but were seated immediately in the Tequila lounge. Super comfortable with lots of TV's to watch sports. Our only issue and this was a big one, was the length of time our food took to come out. I believe the order didn't go in correctly and then the poor waitress dropped our food after about a 40 minute wait. I will chalk this up as a one off, but would have liked to have seen our two rounds of drinks comped as none of us were hungry to eat once the food arrived. Normally I would ask for the manager to come over to try and "make things right" but the wife and kids were ready to get home. Regardless, we will be back for sure. read more

Person 1- Two shrimp tacos with side choice of Napa slaw and whole black beans. Person 2- Two red snapper tacos, choice sides, Mexican street corn and whole black beans, Person 3- 1/2 rotisserie chicken choice sides, Brussels sprouts and Mexican street corn. Presentation of the food, very nice. And lots of it. Would consider sharing next time. Taste-lack of. Person 1- Shrimp tacos. Filling was over cooked to where it was mush. Shrimp was ok. As a lover of El Tiempo in Houston, I felt right at home at Jorge's. The prime tenderloin fajitas were PERFECTION and the spicy margarita was the perfect amount of tequila and sweetness. My wife drooled over the Tres Leches and I had a delicious espresso martini for dessert. But what was most impressive was how HUGE this place was. And the service was still stellar. First experience at Jorge's tonight. Dined early 4:30pm. Ordered the create your own appetizer, queso, elotes, guacamole. Not a fan of elotes in general, but thought I would give it a shot. Queso and guacamole were really good, still not sold on elotes. For the main course, ordered the Del Mar, shrimp, crab and fish enchiladas with cilantro rice and black beans. I don't normally enjoy black beans, but really enjoyed the blend of peppers and spices. The enchiladas were kind of a creole/mexican infusion that I really enjoyed. The salsas served with chips were really good, I preferred the spicey (not spicey to me) green salsa over the mild red salsa. The atmosphere of Jorge's is really nice compared to other Mexican food restaurants in the area. The el George margaritas were good. Nice lemon lime flavor. Thick, ice cold and refreshing on a hot day. Not too strong, but yet not too weak. Will definitely put Jorge's on the frequently visited list. read more

Excellent! I'm very picky about Tex mex. I loved Jorge's. The ambience is fantastic. The place looks beautiful. Our server Jay was fantastic and made sure we were happy with everything. He went above and beyond and was very thoughtful. I had the Caesar salad with added grilled shrimp. It was perfection. I can't wait to order it again. My daughter had nachos which she loved. She talked it with steak and steak was really yummy. My husband has the Barbacoa enchiladas with Molé sauce. He really liked it as well. Overall weekend, everything we ordered five stars. I did order the chicken flutes and did not realize they had lots of onions inside of it. I do not like it, but my family were happy to eat them. Cannot wait to come back. If y'all are going to not cook the beef at the way, I feel like this is something the customer should be aware of, and asked how they would like them cooked. Probably the best seasoned beef fajitas I've EVER had. I always order fajitas when I first visit any Tex-Mex restaurant because if they can't get that right, then it's not worth trying a second time, in my opinion. Yes, they're $22, but you can make 4 or 5 tacos out of the portion they give you. Great service... still have a little kinks on timing, but all-in-all, we will be regulars here. For those whining about timing of service: the restaurant isn't even a week old, and you're not giving them an ounce of grace. The entire restaurant is beautiful in design.
