PRO TIP: The PROBLEM is that Don is really unprofessional. He really really REALLY hates being asked a question about a solution he proposes to a problem. His response usually is, "I've been doing this for 20 years, I don't have time to explain myself, I can get new customers in 20 minutes". PRO TIP: Don't have him drain your pool. He requires that you monitor the pump as it is draining the pool even though you are paying him to take care of everything. If you don't mind monitoring the progress of the pool being drained, ask for a discount since you are doing his job. Also, best not to have the pool drained when you aren't able to monitor. PRO TIP: Don likes to throw the pool debris literally anywhere but a trashcan. Make sure you are very clear with him what your expectations are otherwise he dumps the leaves in your yard right next to the pool or on your driveway or the street in front of your house. PRO TIP: Don likes to repair parts without providing a quote, then he just serves the cost to you in an invoice. Make sure you are clear with him about how and when he can repair or replace parts. PRO TIP: If you are fine working with a decent pool tech who thinks he is Gods gift to pool service and is straight up one of the most curmudgeonly men you will ever encounter, look no further, Don is your guy. There is nothing wrong with his pricing or his maintenance (except his inability to use a trash can). He or is wife will show up, work their magic, and leave within 5 minutes and your pool will be crystal clear. If you blink you will miss them. HOWEVER, anything beyond the basics and Don can get a bit temperamental. I have a 2 year old son, sometimes my son is easier to rationalize with then with Don.

I still paid my regular monthly payment then questioned the company politely as maybe they switched my house on the route and I was missing the guy when he came. After getting a fairly unpleasant response I let the matter go. A month later I noticed they had not taken the regular monthly payment, when I questioned again I got no response. I followed up with 2 additional emails to ensure I was not neglecting payments on work done. However still no response. I am pretty disappointed as again they had such a good first impression but maybe my service was no longer worth it to them. My initial service was great and on time - no hiccups. I continued to check in with the office on a weekly basis as I wasn't receiving e-mail updates about the weekly service being completed and I was assured from the front desk that it was being taken care of - the servicer just hadn't updated the log. Over the course of 4 weeks of being gone, I was notified on the Week 4 service that our pool was green, there was a major leak and there was nothing they could do. Granted, all of this information was given to me by a family member who had been house sitting for us. I immediately called the office and did not get an answer, I then sent them a text requesting a call back ASAP. I contacted my family member to pass the phone onto the service agent and he then informed me that he had NOT serviced my pool for 4 weeks.... So, for the 4 weeks that I had hired them one, no one had serviced my pool which turned it green. A minor repair I had requested prior to leaving had not been repaired, leading to a leak which he stated they could not repair for me. I had paid for the month of service and was assured that my pool was being maintained which all was false. When I brought this up to the front desk assistant she stated there was a "miscommunication" with the service agent and the office and they were "under the assumption" that my pool had been serviced. She then stated that they could no longer take on our account as they could not repair the leak and I would now have to find a new servicer. Keep in mind, all of this was taking place while I was out of town and had entrusted Orange Leaf to care for my pool. I was then stuck finding a new service team to clean the algae from my pool, repair the leak, replace my float valve, repair leaks at the pool pump that now occurred after not being serviced for a month AND a hefty water bill since they left a leak unattended for a month. All in all - I DO NOT RECOMMEND using this company.

I told the technician the first week that we had black algae and nothing was done to treat it, even though they charge extra for the first visit, which is supposed to include algaecide. 3. My black algae got worse over the next three weeks and nothing was done to treat it. 4. I contacted the office about issues with black algae, for the first week. They said they would send someone out to treat it but no one came. A week later they finally sent someone who did not treat it properly. So I waited another 4 days (including weekend) for the manager to come out and treat only 2 of the spots. 5. They have repeatedly lied about the pH and chlorine levels of my pool. Before having a pool company I was balancing the pool myself weekly so I have a rough idea of about how many chemicals need to be added in order to keep the pool balanced. The emails I receive will have a chlorine level of four or greater, but I know that's not possible when there is no chlorine in our dispenser and all they've done is add one tab to it. Not one time have they added anything like muriatic acid or soda ash to adjust the pH of our pool. The person who works the front desk is very friendly and helpful, and the texting system that they have is great for communicating with them as well. I genuinely believe that the technician manager wants to treat our pool properly, however, none of the technicians that come to my house actually seem to give a s***. Upon raising my concerns about the differences in my test of the pool water compared with the email they sent me, They did offer to request that the technician take a picture of the test strip next time they came. Small things are being done on behalf of management to make some of these issues right, but I'm tired of having to constantly follow up on issues. Just do the job right the first time.

If that were true, it should have been immediately obvious. I walked out less than five minutes later, and there was no visible evidence of any skimming having taken place. None. I understand that service visits are time-limited. What I do not accept is inaccurate reporting or being told work was done when it clearly wasn't. This is not the first time we've had issues like this, but it was the final straw. When you're paying for professional service, you expect transparency and accountability. Based on repeated experiences, this company delivers neither. I would not recommend them.

I asked why the person didn't call, text, knock or ring the doorbell and the person texted they have too many clients to be trying to ring every doorbell. Then I asked where in their manual does it state that leaving chlorine tablets at an unknown location and no other type of communication count as a professional pool service visit? The person continued to bash and blame me and i continuously stated that I now recalled why i had blocked the number because that same individual was still unprofessional, rude and has a nasty, negative tone. So, she as a Desert Bloom Pool Care employee and representative knew the pool was green because she acknowledged that I had submitted a trouble ticket and saw the photos said she would look at the ticket I submitted. Here we are on Wednesday 08JUL26 and no response from ANYONE about our green pool that was just renovated. The pool sits and they just ignored it. I would not recommend this company. This horrible service has happened consistently with me, and I have been at this home for 3 years.
